Culver City Unified School District

El Rincon Information

Dear Parents/Guardians,

It is with great sadness that I am informing you that as of February 9th, 2016, I am resigning as the principal of El Rincon Elementary. I’m so proud of the work we’ve done in the short time I’ve been here, but family duty calls and I must shift focus to those nearest and dearest to me at this time. I will continue to support your new leader, who is an amazing administrator, and continue from the district office which will not only allow me to support Educational Services in Culver City Unified, but will continue to enhance the great work being done at El Rincon. Please rest assured that I leave you in very capable hands, and the great work of developing the STEAM programs at El Rincon will continue! I will continue to be a proud Rocket parent and will continue to ask that you keep working hard to support our amazing school and teachers.

Thanks for everything - Go Rockets!

Sincerely,

Shannon Garcia

Dear El Rincon Families,

First and foremost, we would like to thank Dr. Garcia for her efforts on behalf of all El Rincon Rockets – students, staff and families. As a community that believes in and models the importance of family, we respect and appreciate Dr. Garcia’s decision.

As we make this mid-year transition, we are grateful for the dedicated and talented team at El Rincon. They are the heart and soul of a school that truly believes in and serves the whole child.

We have been very thoughtful and strategic in developing a transition plan that will provide continued support and service-oriented leadership for children, staff and families. Mr. Rick Barclay, who has been the assistant principal at Culver City Middle School for the past seven years, will serve as the Interim Principal at El Rincon for the remainder of the year. Mr. Barclay is a well-known and experienced school administrator with strong ties throughout our district and community.

We are deeply committed to supporting El Rincon during this time of transition, and will be working very closely with staff, students and families to provide intentional support for current efforts and future goals.

Thank you for all that you do in support of the entire El Rincon family.

Sincerely,

Dave LaRose

Superintendent
