The Summer 2017 Projects include the following scope of work:

  • Installation of Ball Funnels (Kindergarten Yard)
    This project is to install ball funnels and improve the K Yard at El Marino
  • Exterior Paint
    This project is to paint the exterior, including doors and window jambs throughout the campus
  • Air Conditioning Phase 2A
    This project is for the HVAC condensers in classroom buildings except Building 12.
  • Air Conditioning Phase 2B
    This project is for the Full HVAC Admins Bldg 1 MPR Bldg 2 and Classroom Bldg 12, painting all buildings except Bldg 9, 10, 11.
  • Roofing
    Reroofing Bldg 1, Partial 2, Bldg 3, 6, 7, 8.
  • Marquees
    This project will be to add a new Digital Marquee at schools that do not currently have them.
  • Public Announcement Upgrades
    This project is to add a campus wide PA system to keep everyone on campus informed.
  • Hydration Stations
    This project is to add various Hydration Stations to the campus.
  • Power Reroute, Infrastructure Work
    This project is to reroute main electrical service.
  • Beam Repair
    This project is to repair damaged framing at the exterior covered walkway at Building 7.
  • "Maker Space" Classroom Tenant Improvements
    This project is to modernize a classroom building to be used as a maker space for future classes.

The Energy Conservation Program (Proposition 39) includes the following scope of work:

  • Upgrading of interior & exterior LED Lighting

The Phase I Projects includes the following scope of work:

  • Fencing Improvements
    Installation of fencing in order to improve student security and safety.  This project is complete.
  • New Playfields
    The existing grass playfield will be completely renovated and include new irrigation, drought tolerant natural grass sod on a portion of the field and regulation U10 synthetic turf soccer field on the remaining portion.  A decomposed granite track will be provided along the Diller Avenue side and along the parking lot.  New trees will be planted adjacent to the parking lot.  This project is substantially complete.  The synthetic turf is available for use while the natural grass (sod) is under review for acceptance.
  • Indoor Air Filtration – Phase 1
    The existing furnaces at all permanent classrooms will be replaced with new furnaces and filters which will greatly improve the air quality.  A future project will also add air conditioning to allow the classroom doors to be kept closed during hot weather.  This project has been completed.
  • New Playgrounds
    The playground improvement project at El Marino Elementary School includes the installation of new playground surfaces and equipment for both kindergarten and elementary school children. The new play equipment will provide a number of age-appropriate activities including elevated platforms, slides and swings. Shade canopies will also be provided and will be integrated with the play equipment. New color-matching rubber play surfaces will also be installed to provide fall protection in compliance with current safety guidelines.  The redesign for the new kindergarten playground has been completed to retain the trees.  Work has been completed.
  • New Bicycle & Skateboard Racks
    This project includes the installation of new bicycle and skateboard racks throughout the campus and has been completed.
  • Video Surveillance
    Conduit, cable and video surveillance cameras will be installed campus wide. This project is complete.
