Intradistrict (Open Enrollment) Information

The Intradistrict Application window closed March 10, 2018.

Intradistrict Permit Application Timelines and Procedures

This permit is made available to residents of Culver City who want their children, entering Grades K-5, to attend a CCUSD elementary school other than their school of residence (home school) for the following school year.
  • Application window: February 10 - March 10.

Intradistrict Transfers and Wait Lists:

Per Board Policy, Intradistrict transfers are approved on or before July 31 if space becomes available at the requested school(s). (Usually, CCUSD is not able to grant transfers in Grades 1-5 unless a student moves out at the end of the school year or during the summer.) We try to save two spaces in each grade for new residents until late summer.

The first round of Intradistrict Transfer approvals (for Kindergarten) were mailed on April 9. All transfer requests, based on sibling preference, were granted. In addition, all requests to El Rincon. Requests to Farragut, Lin Howe, and our three dual language programs exceeded the number of spaces available. We do not expect to be able to approve any more Intradistrict transfers unless continuing students do not return to CCUSD. Decisions will be mailed on or before July 31 based on CCUSD enrollment as of that date.

Kindergarten Wait Lists

Farragut: The first non-sibling to be accepted would be Wait List #1.

Lin Howe: All students who requested Lin Howe as their 1st choice were offered placement; Lin Howe is now at capacity.

El Rincon:  All students who requested El Rincon as their 1st choice were offered placement; El Rincon is now at capacity.

La Ballona:  All students who requested La Ballona (English Program) as their 1st choice were offered placement. The Spanish Dual Language program at La Ballona was filled by La Ballona residents selected in the lottery; only one Culver City (who does not live in the La Ballona attendance area) was offered a space in the Spanish Dual Language Program at La Ballona. The Spanish Dual Language Program at La Ballona is at capacity.

Grades 2, 3, 4, and 5

The next resident to be accepted in Grade 3 at Farragut would be Wait List #1.
