Term of Office: 12/1/13 - 11/30/18
Mother, attorney, and community activist Kathy Paspalis was elected to the Culver City Unified School District School Board of Education on November 3, 2009. Ms. Paspalis is proud to represent the diverse spectrum of CCUSD students, and to work with the CCUSD team to provide a well-rounded, high-caliber education for all of our students. Kathy is thankful for the broad base of support that led to her election.
Ms. Paspalis holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, and a Juris Doctor from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles. Ms. Paspalis is a native of Stamford, Connecticut, and has been an enthusiastic transplant to Culver City since 1999. Her twins are Culver City High School students, class of 2017.
Ms. Paspalis’ land use, environment, and general legal background and expertise has been helpful in many facets of CCUSD Board business: from reviewing a myriad of contracts, to assisting with choosing the District’s solar consultant or construction manager, to weighing in on personnel and student discipline issues.
Ms. Paspalis recently moved her career path into the nonprofit sector, where she works in the development department of a nonprofit, helping to raise funds to support a large, broad-based community services organization.
Kathy started out as a room parent in her children’s kindergarten class, among other school and community activities, and was later elected to their elementary school’s site council, where she served until she was elected to the School Board. Kathy is grateful for the opportunity to serve the Culver City community and our District’s children, and looks forward to providing her leadership and experience to CCUSD.
