I'd like to acknowledge the parents who were making ever to walk or roll or five or skating school we do appreciate that because we are very environmentally conscious community so I know that we will soon Carlos Friday's I think I'm free Friday then I don't know necessarily what that will look like if you are dependent on car but we're going to give it our best shot appreciate everyone's efforts to bring this we know it's not always easy maybe not so it was possible but anything that you can do to help out just great also I'd like to make our high school and middle school administration for student orientation programs web and Link crew that are great ways to help our new students for us to third transition from elementary to middle or middle to high school to become acclimated to spell environment I think that there was a great presentation by doctor for loan for RCU the high school and providing an excellent college essay writing workshop for the actually walked away with a rough draft of their personal statement for college and I believe in high school is awesome fastest route to Saturday I know that because my son will be waking up early Saturday morning to partake in that class and the Rotary Club tell my son I was so excited and so also you know the rotary is not here to see me they like to be able to gather Warren rotary club members they donated 5 years such a huge difference bench that being brought over part so this is a 5 year commitment to the rotary is getting to our school district and bringing the Springs tonight trees to R Us and so we look forward to analogy at a later school board meeting thank you thank you for the president only remember the board members of the community to the 2018-2019 school year so I also yesterday went to the middle school and high school with you what right does a great time I also just got stopped by a Lin how yesterday and I definitely love seeing the faces full of anticipation patient as a parent got to drop off their kids and I don't know who is more excited If the parents got their their time back or are the kids who Ranch feed their friend that was really it it's such a fun occasion but that first day of school and then even if your second day of school I'm talking about just our numbers are enrollment numbers continue to change we have resident moving in and they're still enrolling their children into our schools open today and now we also have students to have moved over the summer and go find out yesterday exactly that we didn't have a hundred and five kindergarteners if that's very good to hear in bed some students who moved out summer sale on we are balancing those numbers we will have a better idea in a few weeks of the windows and it's at the table I but as of today I just want to report that we have 7119 student home Crossett District and I think Reese's 71 students over last year and 356 student over 4 years ago so the biggest tentative numbers we will get 2 numbers it's already back to school season I just wanted to let the board know the community and yelled at next week when how and Farragut is going to get us started and really love kind of happy that occasion as well take another school in New and returning family on occasion I'm so next Wednesday they'll both be having their back to school. Flynn how and Farragut next Wednesday starting at about 6 but I will send it before the exact schedule and drink I today I visited the classrooms at Clover Park High School with Ruth Morris their coordinator house. See their new schedule which now matches the 8 a.m. start time and this morning please stay there a hundred percent attendance yesterday and the students were in class today she still waiting on a few students but only three spell so far so good and HL and it also has a 90-minute blocks and they're trying out this year which is going to accommodate a project-based approach for the head of an individualized Learning Center they're going to be having for their students I'm really excited to see how they Implement that project base-line to PDL into the air force it yesterday so today Miss Montalvo was actually already giving diagnostic assessment your math students and everybody was busy and working provide that information and I just have to say that our students are really fortunate to have that option as an alternative learning environment that's his face individual needs and some I really want starts at 4 did you try to see good evening go forward and community members sorry Christina I have no running to a co-worker welcome back shared about our summer project on social media so I don't want to get into it too much but I will mention all the great things we did this summer we had the air conditioning going in at two elementary schools and a big part of the middle school and high school so those are any still continuing Frost obviously got a lot of work and we have possession of that now and it looks fantastic and we'll be having our welcome back Gala on September 29th. Fun updates on that and the last facility thing I want to mention is I was out at work this morning and I got to walk around that night to feel trapped out there it's all somewhere out there too so the answer in really good shape for those again I went out to them and start school first day of high school and middle school so we created a lot of kids and watched a lot of fun parents out there I was over at Farragut to which I really enjoyed because I love seeing the little ones especially the kindergarteners go in it was funny Leslie and I were standing together and we were realizing her she was realizing that a lot of the parents dropping off kids wear her former students and so I was starting to give her a hard time in life. Leslie and then there was realizing that were the same name so but it really is it is nice and Just For What It's Worth car Free Fridays will get more information from safe routes to school concepta even if you do need a car we're going to try to get people to drop them off at safe zones away from the school so hopefully leave the school area completely car frame that's it thank you thank you for president who are the members Community Frisco not specifically a ccusd event but a Culver City Event I was able to go to Fiesta La Ballona over the weekend and dumb as we discussed in our cabinet meeting is a fun and diverse crowd over there I went on Sunday to do which I don't normally do it it's a little while maybe I shouldn't it's a little better than Subs crab took working the booth it's a great opportunity and there was a lot of interest in and support for our schools and our programs us questions from people about what we do and ccusd a lot of I have a 3 year old I have a 4 year old and soda headed to lots of great conversations and then again just amazing Community Support era when we have seven thousand questions and that is probably why I am not eliminate so I didn't go to the high school and middle school in Farragut like mine probably sit all together and it wasn't because I was excluded it because I do my own thing I actually went to la Vallarta to start off my day yesterday and being surprised because I was dropping off my son but got to enjoy their open I'm true to form well actually they had a lion and costume there this year which was a first and was very funny but they have there Monday morning Mania and music and announcements and dancing and just a really great way to start off the school year lots of fun and everybody was ready to get in and get rolling right into instruction and then I headed from there over to El Rincon and was again super impressed with what I'm seeing in the classrooms I'm not going to waste of time the students they're getting to know their teachers getting to know each other everything is just fun and structured and it was it was a really great way to kick off the week I miss the welcome back so that was her my welcome back to the exciting see the little kids and then today maybe because I didn't reason I got our lines crossed and I think I was supposed to go to OCD sorry Vanessa I'll be there later this week I also went to Culver part 3 all the way up to some of our bigger kids and did not provide Marissa did hang out with Veronica Montes a little bit and talk about what's going on with program about the block scheduling about changes and then went into a couple of classrooms saying all those details again synonym for that was very exciting and I did make no plan with Miss Montez because we are pre-k through adult that during one of my upcoming visit so I can go to the adult school will go off so I can go there and you get to see our adult students in action so all in all and I'm sorry I missed the welcome back it just everything I've seen and heard makes it sound amazing and I'm sad that I wasn't there but I'm really glad they'll come back to the 1819 school year and we don't have students today because I think they just started school so I think they're coordinating who they will be and then probably our next meeting let's do the wraps usually second meeting Willie Harper High School 100m Fisher popcorn maker some plants have to tell us now we have members of the audience I have two cards of one order here Elementary structure each person get free minutes for their speaking and I'll probably would someone please keep time for me if a 3-minute time or I can do it too.
