okay um hello everyone it is Friday March 14th at 5:32 p.m. we are going to call this special board meeting to order um before we just to close do we have any public comments that wins I see no 1 here in person No Hands raised okay can I get a motion and a second to turn to closed um I'll move okay motion by member Carlson second by Mr lockman oh 4 members present by the way Mr Grow is not here um all those in favor please say I I I we have been reporting are we recording okay good evening everyone uh we are back from Co session it is March 4th 14.604 PM um again roll call of the trustees we have board members present Mr Guerrero's absent um 3.2 Public Announcement of actions taken by the boarding closed session we have no um action taken and closed session 4.1 adoption of the agenda colleagues motion motion by member lockman second it second by member cross and all those in favor say I 4 eyes uh 5.1 public record ignition 5.2 public recognition of members of the audience items on the agenda so um there's no 1 here in person but if those online wish to comment on an item on the agenda now would be the time to raise your hand special meeting so we only take public comments on the items on the agenda so if you have a comment on agenda There's No 1 No 1 raised okay um should we close great um 6.1 second good evening board president Mr superintendent Dr Lopez board members members of the Cal City Community online tonight I'll share the second item report for the current and 2 subsequent years as you can see in the slide 2 fiscal team is busy year round in working simultaneously with 2 different fiscal years currently we are at the orange circle at the second interim reporting stage Mr Rajiv or said to go I should say wait 1 second where while we're getting the but but we're all set slide 3 please so what are second interim revisions the budget is an estimate of dissed revenue and expenses for fiscal year at a point in time based on the assumptions and the current year trend of actual expenditures as of January 31st 2025 second interim budget division ensures the district's financial plan remains accurate and responsive to any changes that have occurred since the first interim budget divisions in December 2020 24 we looked at our actual expenditures and revenue receipts as of January 31st and projected the budget for the current and the next 2 years based on what we know now we are on time to submit to Leo by March 17th which is Monday next slide please the key terms um the important thing that I would like to highlight in this is the funding is directly tied to the number of students who attend school there is a slight increase at P1 the first reporting window during December this year improving our student attendance Subs not only funding but the most important factor of continuity in student learning thank you cuc ccusd students for your improved attendance in the first few months we moved from 95 4.7 to 95.33 um your commitment is truly commendable and keep up the great work and continue to attend regularly let's try for 100% attendance next slide please so the these are some of the major assumptions used in our second interim and the 2 subsection I want to highlight a few things here the estimated Ada is a current year Ada based on the current year enrollment so this is actually this is the current number estimated the funded Ada is the average of past 3 years attendance and you can see it's higher than the estimated Ada because our enrollment was higher in the prior years um 1 person increase in our tenant will increase our Revenue um our base funding by 780,000 if we can increase by 2% it's 1.5 million so we are making strides uh you know back to um Co levels and we are increasing little bit more than that next slide please so what changed its second term we have a net decrease of 100 39,000 at second interim compared to First Centrum in our combined unrestricted and restricted um Revenue adjustment for state and federal and local incomes are based on the state revenue allocations for cusd and there is a reduction in interest income as we had some um as we have lower resource that's why we had um had to adjust our interest income and then the local fees are based on the actuals as of January 2025 next slide please I just wanted to highlight here our base funding would have been more if we did not have the Ada loss average daily attendance loss during coid our Ada dropped to 92% it was back at 94.7% last year and now it is at 9 953 but if we are at 90 989 this year then our funding will be based on this year because this would have been the highest compared to last 3 years but right now our funding is based on last 3 years um the last 3 years although we have received call off 1% ongoing for current year and 2.43 for next year and 3.52 overall the Ada loss has absorbed the cola increases and um we have 3.3 million um at second interim the funding is reduced because of the Ada loss next slide please so what changed in second expenditure budget so this slide shows the increase in expenditure but budgets adoption for the current year if you recall we increase our expenditures by 2.8 million at first Centrum as we had to move positions funded out of the restricted funding source into general fund because the restricted funds expired at second interim we had to increase the salary and benefits by 1.9 million almost 2 million dollars due to the increased spending on substitute costs extra really cost which I'll share the trend in the next slide there is an increase in price budget to the tune of 500,000 and a reduction of contracted expenditures and indirect costs by 1.5 million we are trying to optimize our EOP funding expanded learning opportunity program funding here that's why we were able to reduce so the net increase in expenditure um to the tune of 900,000 at second interim the important 1 I would like to highlight is the percentage of unrestricted dollars I try to highlight it but I think the number is not appearing it's not so legible but it is 94.6 represented almost 95% so out of every hundred dollars of funding we receive um the unrestricted dollars we spend 95 on staff salary and benefits so I just wanted to highlight we are only spending 5% on other than salary next slide please slide 9 so 50% of the 1.9 million increase that we saw in the previous slide 1.9 million actually is coming from substitutes extra early and time cost so I just wanted to show um what happened um the increase I was just curious to find out like you know why are we spending high on substitute next hourly cost there is um you know compare like you know what really happen in terms of data so when you look at the data the non-salary personal cost if you see in 2021 um it went up from 1.6 million in 2021 all combined substitute extra in overtime to $4 million 2324 but when we budgeted you see the drop that was the adopted budget so what we thought was okay all of these additional hours and substitute in overtime it it got increased everywhere in every school district during coid time so we made an assumption that's going to drop when we adopted a budget in 2425 because as the onetime funds expired but then we come to know based on the actual expenditures when we look at it it's going back to the trend of the 2324 so that's why at second interim it's going up there is a drop because we lowered the budget at 24/25 budget time and then we increasing it back based on the actual expenditure Trend that we have seen from July to January 31st 2025 I will share um our steps to lower the cost later in my presentation but this does not include the positions or substitutes that we hired from contacted agencies they are still appearing under 5,000 contact line item expenditures next slide please so this is the contribution so what change at second interim so actually the contribution is something that district is all the other expenditures for the Dental fund expenditures we looked at it before so these are the additional contribution district is making on restricted programs so if you see here we have increased our contribution uh by a million dollar at first Centum another 1.2 million dollars at second that's what you see the last column shows how much we increase our contributions from um for Centrum if you see special education contribution we had to increase by a million dollar um and then the title 2 there is a small amount and then if you see the universal preschool and color current and the summer enrichment program we try kind try to lower or we try to optimize for other available restricted funding sources that's what we want to see um almost um we don't want to make an increases by the time we close our books that's our goal but this is where we are in terms of our contributions from general fund so it's basically district is setting a set 15 Point um 8 million now it's increased to 18.8 1 million per second our contributions increased next slide please so the reserves are fund balance so I know I'm interchangeably using fund balance and Reserve what it means is how much is the savings we have if you recall when we started this year we had 5.5 million of savings money that we saved from the prior years it came in we brought that into the current year 2425 then at adopted budget that fund balance of 5 increased by 1.6 but at second interim it further decreased not sorry I said increase its decreased and then at second interim it decreased by 2.3 million so we have when we started we had 5 million dollars right now at second interim we projected to have a reserve of 2 points 64 that's that's the reserve we have currently at second interim for the current year next slide please this is the my the multi-year projections what change in the combined unrestricted and restricted Revenue are second interim if you see for 2526 um the only change that you see there is a reduction of 1.3 million on the trying to see it's too small on the kind of um the other financing financing sources you see a 1.3 million reduction that is due to the termination of the RDA project if you recall 1 of the projects expired December 2024 so that's why you don't see that going forward to the next years that's the only change from 24/25 to 25/26 and then if you see the last year the cola or the cost of living adjustment of 3.52 translates to a 1.7 increase actually to our base local fund um the lcf for funding based funding which is to the tune of 1.4 million that's an increase you see in the third year out 20 um 2627 next slide please so the multiple project multi-year projections on expenditure side the last but 1 row shows the total expenditure budget so for current year it's 120 million for the current year that's total expenditures in for both unrestricted and restricted the 2 subsequent years budget reflect and adjustment towards the board approved reduction in force resolutions in personal supplies and contracted services that you approved in the past few board meetings to the tune of million dollars is reflected in this budget our deficit spending increased if you see the last row um from a million at first Centum to 4.7 million at second interim for the current year and the deficit for 256 252 26 and 2627 is reduced to 1.7 million and 1.2 million because of those reduction in force resolutions um adjustment next slide please so what's our ending fund balance or reserved for each of the years as you can see the unrestricted fund balance the reserve is 2.6 million for current year and 2.9 for the next year and 3 million for 2627 you do see there is a line if you if you look at the Top Line it says combined fund balance right that's that includes restricted funds too the restricted funds is not included in our 3% state required minimum Reserve requirement so that's why we are showing that separately even the restricted fund balance if you see from 5.7 it is decreasing to 2.3 so we are again lowest at that we are trying to spend down the restricted funds also so our unrestricted fund balance the reserve percentage for 24/25 is 2 2 um we need um we are shy of a million dollars I would say exactly 955,000 is needed to meet the 3% for current year and then we need approximately 500,000 dollars to meet the next year's Reserve next 2 years reserve next slide please superintendent Dr Lucas and I recommend a qualified certification at second interim based on the second interim budget projections the district may not be able to meet meet the financial obligations for the current and so 2 subsequent fiscal years next slide please so what is our plan to meet the 3% you know we only have average of 2% in the current year in the next 2 years so we are scrutinizing every purchase requisition all open purchase orders are being reviewed and any uncom unencumbered funds will be returned to the budget departments are expected to ensure these are some um tightening our budget measures um departments are expected to ensure that only essential expenditures are processed moving forward if there are purchase orders that have not yet been fully committed we'll work with the department supervisor or administrator to identify any items that can be deferred or canceled and then we also in the process of unencumbered actually after consultation and discussion some of the purchase orders because we are on the um our goal to meet the a million dollar um reduction our expenditures uh we also focusing on this personal service agreement for Frost and other programs paid out of unrestricted and some restricted programs so we are passing and we are revisiting the needs side minutes administrators can continue to process the personal non-personal requisitions weekly but all requisitions will be will be reviewed by cabinet to determine whether persons will be filled and if so when some essential operations must continue and as such the requisitions will be carefully evaluated for necessity all the extra assignments and overtime will be discontinued unless specifically authorized under special circumstances facilities permits that cover overtime are still permitted for substitutes we will close to review the teacher release times or non-class from substitute request keeping an eye on the critical student needs for my department just to give an example if a customer is out sick for a day instead of requesting a substitute we will move to a light cleaning day schedule like the Rainy Day schedule for lunch for students similarly so we will continue this measure to meet the 3% reserved for the current and future years so that's why um the 2425 this is after um really really deep analysis of every single line line item expend pictures and how much is remaining unspent committed but unspent yet so that's why this recommendations are we've come up to 850,000 we hope to get to the the million dollar that if we are thinking of uh reducing ing by end of the year um next slide please so we are continuing to um the measures that we just discussed because we will continue that and we will continue to monitor spending and cash balance that's something important when we are um when we have the low Reserve what happens is um you have like 2 6 million or 2.3 million cache but we need approximately 8 to 10 million dollars a month to manage our operations so we have to really really close the VR watching if you really look at page I think 95 105 in our sax reports um there is a cash flow support so we are predict we are projecting to borrow 6.5 million from the other funds within the district so that we maintain a positive cash balance that's a that's something we are closely monitoring and um 1 of the thing is the federal um programs sometimes the timing is there behind by almost 12 12 to 18 months so we still haven't received last year's Federal um funding of 2.3 million dollars we spend the money but we we get it reimbursed so we're still waiting right that's why we have to closely monitor because it's the unrestricted dollars is all we have right now so we closely monitoring our um the recommendation from the government Finance Association is to maintain a 17% that will take care of your 1 or 2 months expenditures but we are not there yet um and then improving at 10 states something I think we are moving in the right direction um we continue to hope to attract families and making sure um we increase um or um base funding and next slide please so at this point of time um we recommend that board of education take formal action to approve the agenda item on the action item um for the second item budget report we will be filing these reports with county office on Monday the 17th and will continue to work collaboratively with all the Departments to implement this Authority measures that we discussed um till the end of the year until we reach a healthy Reserve I am at the end of the presentation happy to answer any questions you might have you so much for the for the presentation I am are we able to get this up in the lights on before we can go into question well colleagues question we know the order if we can try to ask the all of our questions now and if you have more questions we can go for a second round if we need it yeah I don't have a lot of questions uh really appreciate the report um as well as all the work that you put into this including all of the measures that we're going to take to try to get ourselves out of this qualified uh situation I mean certainly is a bit dire but it's there's not a whole lot of flexibility that we have from year-over-year um so I think I just had a couple presentations or sorry a couple just based on the presentation um so there was uh I think on slide 16 here with the proposed reductions um I just want to make sure that I'm understanding this properly are we to be adding each of those you know each of those numbers 858,000 and then to a 1.2 million or are we trying to get to 1.2 million of reductions so these are the proposal which is that we did reducing we are hoping to reduce um we've identified these as reductions right from now until the end of the year for current year and then we are planning to continue that for the future Years also in the hope to increase the reserve but it's it's not on top of itself right so I mean just to sort of explain it then so for contracts and services we're going to try to reduce that by 49,000 this year and then next year and additional 250,000 yes oh okay all right so what you're looking at then is about 3.3 million of reductions then based on this chart if you add the bottom okay interesting all right um and then I think the other 1 too just to kind of comment and I don't think this is relating specifically to the budget but on 17 we have as the last point there improve attendance rate and increase enter a district permits um I I would also encourage us to try to see what we can do with respect to making sure that we're keeping our Culver City residents in our schools here and seeing if we can get back some of the residents that we may have lost um to private schools and to other schools outside of the district you know certain some of the work that we're doing with respect to measure e and upgrading our facilities should help in that regard to but I think that should also be a goal over the next few years yes I think that's I mean I you know this is very thorough I don't and I'm not a finance expert or anything so I'm certainly not going to dive into a specific number numbers but really appreciate the work that was done here thank you thank you Miss yeah I sometimes joke I went to law school because there was no math um but there always is um so no I I I agree in terms of we can find way of figuring out more why these students are leaving and get them back in I understand the permits um and so we want to make sure that we're maximizing our efficiency with getting the students into the classrooms but uh with what we seem to be losing uh we should be able to find ways of keeping them around um there was a couple not so much in the presentation my only question is just to make sure I understand the Clover currents I saw that there was were reducing that cost that's correct so we're just are we just not putting it in print or are we just not doing it as often or what are we doing that that reflects that uh 20 I think it was 21,000 reduction or something to that effect can you see which which 1 was the I saw you on the presentation there was a that we were reducing that we were doing a reduction with Clover currents which is something we've heard a lot of its like thank you but we don't need this in print um and I applaud everyone for responding to that feedback hopefully we can do the same thing with our postcards too but um uh but I just wanted to confirm if that's what that was option of 20,000 that you mean under the contract we have 14,000 are you referring to any specific 1 know I just want confirmed what that is yes yes that's a reduction in the in the distribution of clover current okay that's correct um secondly my second question is not so much for that but for me trying to read the uh the actual report um because I I saw you know we did a really good job of cutting down our books and supplies uh I think it was like a 25% 25.3% reduction and then on the other side then on our operating expenditures it's up the exact same amount 25.1% increase I think if I read this correctly um and most of it seems to be from I was trying to figure out what that was it looked like it was under a line item I think called transfer direct cost but I'm just trying to figure out where that massive increase of 25% increase in in those fun we were we paying it for it out of another bucket and that bucket went away or why are we looking at that that large increase that's a great question so I think you are referring to the transfer of um we are optimizing our alaap um dollars that's expiring this year right it's funded learning Opportunity Grant so you will see um we are moving some expenditures from unrestricted to the unrestricted bucket okay because I don't on Page 6 I think of it it lists this um to go back up to Page 6 there for a moment um but it was listing this uh large in increase note was not Page 6 um but it was listed when you were listing the where the savings where I will get you the exact page number here just give me 1 quick second um there it is okay so uh if you look at oh I think I found it it's page number 21 Mr lattman yes thank you so there is a line item 5 if you see actually we are if you see I just want to make sure I'm reading this correctly when I see it yeah so that that's great I know um some when I do the budget study session next time I'll I'll walk walk through the how to read the budget I know it's really complex document so if you look at this line 5 5000 which services and other operating expenditures if you go on the expenditures box on the number 5 bullet if you go all the way to the right the first 1 is the 4.9 million that you see that was the amount we adopted we said we are going we set aside 5 for contacted expenditures and then that also I I want to remind that contacted expenditures also includes utilities and basic operational cost too right and then if you go to the next at first in from we increased it to 5.3 million if you go to the 1 more column right it says um actuals we have spent so far as million dollars and if you go to the right there is 3.9 so we basically reduced by 1.3 million okay so that's what that 25 that 25% what you see is a reduction of contacted expenditures because we we are moving these expenditures into restricted bucket we using the restricted EOP money that's why the expenditure is deduced and there is a reduction of 25% expenditure so we're really just moving the money around it's not that price of things have gone up or down it's just we we had something in 1 pot we've moved it to another yes okay um okay know that that can be more we have to move in a way that the the grant allows us to spend dollars we don't we can't just move money I'm just just clarifying that moving is based on the grants um conditions and how you can spend the dollars so as they allow then if they if the particular Grant allows us to spend money then we can move from 1 to other know I I I appreciate I understanding that um it just you know as I said we've we've seen the great job you've been doing in terms of cutting these expenses um and you know we're just looking for ways you know trying to find ways of demonstrating that within the numbers and it looked at first glance like well this went up a lot why was that there so I appreciate the uh explanation thank you sure uh thank you for being able to put this together in this time frame thank you to Errol as well um silent partner in this um so um I do appreciate slide 9 where you uh put out the you know you've identified the Personnel costs increases in terms of this trend uh I ALS appreciate although it's not on the slide itself that you did mention that these are only non-contract substitutes uh my concern is that we're not seeing the entire picture because you know this is you see an increase because we decreased our Reliance on scoot or on you know somebody you know somebody else because we were um hiring either hiring inside subs or hiring you know uh or be able to cover with our own folks whether that's through overtime or whether that's through um you know uh a more daily expenses or whatever so you know I will I appreciate that you have said that you are going to dig into this a little bit more and it it's going to be more telling to us when we do look at it with and without the contracted expenses to see like whether or not that trend is actually a real like it's a trend on a line item because the way that we look at it is based on Personnel costs but but our contracts are separate line item so I look forward to seeing whether or not you find um like a real Trend in that but also we need to take be taking a look at you know what are the reasons for ourselves is it because we had people on admin leave for you know for the right reason is it because there's a medical reason that we really needed to have that coverage is it because there's other leaves um is it because of um environmental factors um health health factors that we cannot control like coid like or you know um wildfires like is it is it also because we see a trend in morale is it sick outs like these are things that we we're going to have to dig into to understand what can we do in our culture to really um it is it something that we can do in our in our control or in our culture to make a change on or is this the reality of 2025 or 26 and Beyond um I know it's kind of the same thing when we look at Ada you know like Ada um we uh we do not get credit for students who are suspended right like this that that's a part of the equation and so is Subs right like if we have somebody out sick a part of their benefit is like that uh that we are a part of the benefit to us is that like we have to get coverage for that um so I'm looking forward to seeing whether or not there's something that there really is uh that we can really control their but also I'd like to hear more from you and superintendent or and the team about possible like I'm hearing you with that hiring freezes and and I spoke a little bit about this at um the last meeting about how you know there even though we're setting our austerity measures I'd like to still know more about these priorities so for instance you want to reduce contracts and services by 49,000 I'm hoping that you still have some unrealized or unspent funds there that you can find in 49,000 but I'm still not sure about we're you know we're hiring some security folks we when they're out do we get we get subs from cosine cosine like and so I'm a little bit confused as to like where our priorities are and whether or not like a like can they do without a sub for a day I I um can they they can because we are now um all hands on deck and then the the director will be out more to uh because component we do that when there is a vacancy and we we can find a sub we all are out there supporting our students when they are having their lunch or so the same principle applies here right now actually um we are passing 2 positions that we had we have 4 vacancies we hired to 2 positions for on freeze and that's the recommendation that's part of this um savings measures yes we are looking at every single position as to is it critical um can we still support our students without having that additional body that's what we're looking at cabinet to come to the conclusion all right um and I I'm going to reiterate my request of like what is what is the data driven number for the amount of like security that you really need um on an everyday basis or moving forward um because I'm still I'm I'm not clear on that and if we can make sure that like if you're saying right now okay we can do without 1 sub like what what happens when there's 2 when there's 2 or like where where is the fine line that you're drawing in terms of um like uh coverage needs I guess in terms of security and I guess it also depends on the the night or the day or the weekend or or whatever it happens to be but um I'd like to learn some more about where you're setting those priorities because I'm pretty sure that for an open like there are certain open but it's not a blanket hiring freeze right like um there have been 2 very difficult positions that are funded not outside of this for from measure e that you have not been able to hire for either which is the bond analysts and the facilities um director right so um so I I I want you to be clear so that uh and communicate that transparently to our public so that when we do find that unicorn of a person to fill that those positions that are from a different fund that people are not going to be surprised saying you told us there was a hiring freeze right so I I want to make sure that um we're being very clear about priorities so that folks understand that there are certain positions that are fast-tracked or certain priorities that we need to put forth first and that you know and then these are the other areas that we can be flexible in to a certain degree so that you know uh What uh so that the reality the perception is reality thank you yes those positions that we are flying I think all these measures of course we continue to monitor Budget on all funds so that we are efficient we are currently managing our funds but with regard to this hiring phrases actually currently only for General funded positions thank you thank you thank you so much for um presentation I'm in a second on my colleagues and thanks colleagues for for the extensive questions um I only have 1 and and I actually don't know that you can answer it so maybe the superintendent ed services can jump in but there was a slide that talked about um an emphasis on attendance making sure that we are encouraging kids to attend school every day for multiple reasons because we know learning is important but also to fund our our fund their attendance but also to include or to accept more intricate permits and so if just talk a little bit more about what that looks like um that would be great like numbers specifically if you have them sure I I'll I'll chime in and then feel free to add other points do you know our attendance rate has actually improved dramatically since uh well Co dropped right substantially dramatically and it's um increased back up to about 94.7% right is that not to where we are around there um which is getting close to preco times I think it's 95 I should kind of relatively our preco times so but we can always keep that going right you know and also try to get above 95 so every every percentage point is about 700,000 dollars uh that would come into our general fund right um and so continue working on that right so engaging instruction through lots of things that are exciting kids to come to school through reminders to families and home about uh the importance of being in school you know importance of scheduling doctor's appointments and bringing them back to school with the doctor's appointment is over I mean those sorts of things uh all help our attendance rate um and increase interdict permits is also similarly right we we um more students that are enrolling in our district we receive a higher allocation from the state so working on working on that as well um and I appreciate board's comments in regards to not only new folks coming to the district but ensuring that folks aren't leaving as best as possible and I think a lot of that is through um communicating the great things that are happening in our schools and um this just really exciting opportunities Athletics Arts you know variety of options for coursework and uh maintaining that yeah well and thank you for that um but if we could just go deeper in what that looks like I know that there when we were talking about budgets there were some who um maybe didn't love some of the attendance recovery plans that we had had I think there were specific contract um and so I actually don't I didn't know that we were sending those since I never seen those flyers and so if you could talk about what attributed to the increase in attendance like what our staff has been doing and what we hope to continue to do or maybe what we can build and expand on that would be great well I I will say part of it and um also chime in if you got anything Angela but I think really a big part of it is uh since it's on a little stranger but kind of societal right I mean just you attendance has changed we're getting kind of away from the coid um era and folks are more back into normal routines I think um and I think that's definitely uh not necessarily just cover but that's been the experience across the country and definitely within the state um but otherwise it's through you know connecting with families you know and having Outreach to families and uh communicating and to regards of of um you know love to see you know Johnny in school and just you know really working hard in regards to connecting and providing services to families so they understand we're here to support them and to have conversations with them when we have um um chronic tears and for instance which is another term we use an awful lot of of proactively reaching out to the family principles saying what what can we do to support you what are some issues here that maybe we can help you with and um taking those steps to communicate our uh our commitment to having kids in school and just to add a little more on to that you know special special thanks to the staff and the administrators who regularly meet and review the data um often more than once a week with Dr and delicado they have Sartre and sarb meetings to make sure that you know students are in school the importance of attendance is is um articulated and all those little steps in reach that's done by all staff have been very very helpful there have been letters texts mailers all of the things that have been mentioned before maybe too many of them but also those do have an impact on on some families so thank you for asking that thank you for that colleagues I don't know if we do need any of this but do we need a second round of questions anyone else or just just with with respect to the with respect to the the the texts which I think are very very effective you know the the notices that stuff is effective I think what saying here is that there's a perception out there that the postcards are not as effective and the general contract is a useful 1 but there may be some aspects you know we're seeing a high cost in the rate of return I also want to point out I looked up like the Statewide chronic absentee rate is like 20% so the fact that was so that's like 80% attendance we're at 94 which is well above you know where the state is but every you know every percentage point Sorry every tenth of a percent equals tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars and you you make a really good point and just in case it was um in just to elevate that the contract is sunsetting and that we're looking at internal mechanisms for how we can have the same functionality within our student information system which is Aries and do this internally so thank you for bringing that point up attendance rate is 95.3 what our attendance rate is 95.33 okay yes we can't can't forget that 100th of a yes point um every every every 1 of those is money so so uh flag for for that don't know back in the fall we did commission Commission we didn't enter into a contract for a demographic study and I'm hoping that when this does come back uh Mr Reed in April yes perhaps in April um because it just finished just closed um I'm hoping that maybe we will find some data that may be positive in terms of uh uh the students that we uh may be able to um take a look at
