hi um neither myself or um both of us into the Spanish recording in progress all right everyone we are back from closed session it is is 607 p.m. on May 13th I want to call this meeting to order roll call of the trustees all trustees are present oh I think I need to say if there's actually and there was no action taken in closed session um okay black salute 3.2 uh let's see everyone stand up please put your right hand over your heart ready begin I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United United States of America and which it stands 1 nation under God indivisible withy and justice for all thank you please sit down thank you all right Landing nausea Mr lockman could you please read the land acknowledgement do you know where you don't know where it is Mr Guerrero yeah you do that please absolutely we acknowledge our presence on the traditional ancestral and unseated territory of the Kish and tongva peoples who are the original caretakers of this land all right and I guess I got ahead of myself action taken for the boarding Club session there was no action taken all right 5.1 adopt for the agenda the agenda uh I have an amendment okay if we could please move uh 1512 to first read instead because it doesn't belong in in consent it's a it's a first read 1512 is the uh workplace bullying uh policy it previously was in our old manual and it is not currently in our current manual uh sir you uh you moved it if you can amend it to with with that thank you that's suggested to me uh second yeah we can but I so I thought we were moving back to consent because it was just uh yeah so it was uh told to me that it was in there but it was numbered wrong but when I looked back it wasn't in this current manual okay so so it's not if it's not in our manual it's a first read oh yeah that's okay um 20 seconds second all those in favor say I I I all right Awards recognitions and presentations 6.1 Proclamation recognition of class classified employee Association week oh we're reading this um colleagues if we could eat to read 2 lines we could start with member Carlson and go left that'd be great okay um Proclamation and recognition of classified Employee Appreciation Week May 18th to 24th of 2025 whereas the Culver City Unified School District is proud of its classified employees and considers them an integral part of its educational system and whereas the efforts of classified employees in the Culver City Unified School District are essential and critical to the successful functioning of the district and the implementation of its programs and whereas classified employees contribute to the establishment and promotion of a positive instructional environment and play a vital role in providing for the welfare and safety of Culver City Unified School District's students and whereas the school district's classified employees are 1 of the reasons that the Culver City Unified School District enjoys a reputation as 1 of the finest districts in Southern California and whereas classified employees in the Culver City of High School District assist in the support of all educational programs and services at all sites and whereas classified employees and the Culver City Unified School District strive for excellence in all areas relative said to the educational community and whereas classifying employees in the Culver City Unified School District serve as an important role models for students in essential Partners In The District's mission to provide a quality education to every student and where classified employees in the Culver City Unified School District are deserving of special recognition for their many contributions in a wide variety of roles to the instruction of public education in this country State and nation and as Culver City Unified School District and encourages everyone in the community including students and parents to recognize our classified employees for the fine job they do every day of the year now be it there now therefore be it resolved that the Culver City Board of Education Unified School District hereby recognizes and honors the contributions of the classified employees and proclaims the week of May 18th 2025 to be classified Employee Appreciation Week this third 14th day of May 2025 so we are we presenting the oh great miss hammy is online yeah well yeah I think we're all clapping in person I will make sure we get you the the certificates great 6 2 Proclamation recognition of Mayors Asian-American native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month uh all right colleagues if we could do the same thing start with Mr lachman and we'll move right this month we celebrate the Asian-American native Hawaiian and specific Islander AA and nhpi communities who have contributed to America's history whereas data from the most updated United States sends a Bureau for the city of Culver City indicates that 19.3% identified Asian 2% identify as native Hawaiian and the other and other Pacific Islanders and 9.9% identify their home language as Asian and or Pacific Islander languages 1 more or go ahead whereas according to the California's data quest for 20 2023 24 school year asian-americans Filipinos and Pacific Islanders made up 12.2% of cover City Unified School District students the number may be higher as some ident students identify as 2 or more races in the ccusd student population and whereas the district's core beliefs include the following everyone deserves to be treated with respect honoring diversity makes us stronger and the sense of family and belonging is integral to the live our lives and whereas Culver's Unified School District takes pride in embedding various cultural programs and experiences throughout the year designed to teach and celebrate customs and traditions and whereas Culver City Unified School District is home to 1 of the first Japanese immersion programs in Los Angeles County which starts at the elementary school continues in middle school and culminates in a high school graduation with the Seal of biliteracy and uh whereas we recognize the importance of finding community and proudly our home to authentic student-led and parent-led Affinity groups at all levels including at the elementary schools middle school and high school and I guess I'll read them now therefore we the governing board of education of the Culver City Unified School District do hereby Proclaim may as National Asian-American and Pacific Islander heritage month and honor the contribution of asian-americans and Pacific Islanders to America's history and its continuous development thank you very much board members we do have some uh we asked representatives to come from the many cultural clubs uh representing um Asian-American native Hawaiian Pacific Islanders so we have our South Asian Culture Club D Dia punj and ruhaan last Shake we have from our Korean cultural Club Monica Lee from our Japanese Culture Club Sophia Sanders and our Asian cultural Union Sophia canel help come on thank you that same fear is King diving you going to get halfway through you're going to go yep exactly 63 Park commission recognition may I ask Jewish American Heritage Month right we can yeah we can start it again we can figure it out do 2 or 1 it's fine uh Proclamation and recognition of May as Jewish American heritage month this month we celebrate Jewish American Heritage Month honoring the values culture and contributions that have shaped our schools and Community whereas the district's core beliefs include the following everyone deserves to be treated with respect honoring diversity makes us stronger and the sense of family and belonging is integral to our lives and whereas it is estimated that Los Angeles county is home to approximately 300,000 Jewish households and ccusd recognizes that Jewish life is multi-dimensional and ident identity can be based on ethnic descent religious Association and or cultural adaptation whereas the overseas flight school district takes pride in providing various cultural programs and experiences throughout the year designed to teach and celebrate C systems and traditions and whereas in the 2223 uh school year Culver City Unified School District had announced anti-Semitism by putting forth an anti-Semitism resolution in addition we continue to implement board policies add administrative regulations and resolutions related to absences and excuses to protect students from the impact of missing school to observe cultural and religious occasions and whereas we Champion the advocacy of Jewish members of our community and the varied roles that they engage in as valued members of our district councils and or family groups and now therefore we the governing board of the of Education of the Culver City Unified School District do hereby Proclaim may as Jewish heritage month and honor the contributions of Jewish Americans to America's history and to its continuous development from our high school juny the Jewish Culture Club Neva wasteman and Natalie cayetano coming that's not yeah oh yeah yeah okay 6.4 Proclamation and Reclamation of June AS lgbtqi Plus 8 month and May 22nd as Harvey Milton we start with Mr Lachlan we'll do 2 each where or a few maybe 3 3 okay 3 it is whereas Children of the future and by investing them today we are ensuring our world for tomorrow whereas Culver City Unified School District Prides itself on being a beacon of diversity City understanding acceptance whereas the district's core belief includes that everyone deserves to be treated with respect honoring diversity makes us stronger and the sense of family and belonging is integral to our lives and as the city of Culver City and ccusd is home to student staff and parent Guardian caretakers who are lesbian gay bisexual transgender and queer plus and whereas in June of 1969 Brave lesbian gay bisexual and trans transgender individual individuals rose up to protest the violence against and the marginalization of the lesbian gay bisexual transgender community and what became known as The Stonewall riots and whereas Harvey Milk contributed toward increasing visibility and civil rights for the lesbian gay bisexual Trends get gender and queer plus individuals including playing a significant role in defeating the 1978 proposition 6 known as the Briggs initiative which would have banned lesbian gay bisexual transgender and queer plus individuals from working in California schools denying students from having school staff who reflect their identity and whereas Harvey Mackay observed annually on May 22nd his birthday commemorates his life and contributions it serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing fight for equity and enduring impact enduring impact 1 courageous voice can have on the world and whereas CCSD is proud to have had 1 of the first lesbian gay bisexual transgender Plus student groups form in 1993 at C High School which 2 years later was officially named tolerance based on the United Nations 1995 definition of Tolerance which includes respect acceptance and appreciation of the rich diversity of our world's culture our form of human expression and ways of Being Human It Is fostered by knowledge openness communication and freedom of thought Consciousness and belief tolerance is harmony indifference and whereas in the fall of 2010 the Culver City High School student body proudly selected their first transgender homecoming King and whereas CC USD now has rainbow clubs at all 5 elementary schools a gender sexuality the alliance at the middle school and 30 years after forming continues to have tolerance at the high school and whereas CC USD recognizes the many classified staff members teachers coaches administrators cabinet members and school board members who are out members of the a lesbian gay bisexual transgender plus Community their authenticity and openness provide invaluable representation allowing students who are lgbtqi plus to see themselves reflected in their school community and now there are 4 we the governing board education of the Culver City Unified School District hereby Proclaim June as pride month and May 22nd as Harvey Milk Day and celebrate and acknowledge the accomplishments of members of the lesbian gay bisexual transgender queer interex plus Community within CCSD Culver City and throughout the world thank you again board members and we do have representatives from the GSA tolerance Club from our high school Adelaide Sutter and Blake Don I think that you're doing it right yeah yeah board members while you're standing there let me describe our next uh uh recipients here that we're very proud of and there are participants in a Statewide uh conference in regards to the Asian Pacific youth leadership project uh of which about 50 youth from across the entire State get together and um the Juniors from public and private charter high schools California with a unique opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of the legislative process Community leadership and political activism during the 4-day 3 Knight conference students will participate in the virtual M Mark legislature that includes the election of peer legislative leaders Lively debate of current issues through the introduction of legislation and the lobbying of bills during virtual committee hearings and the virtual senate floor session we are very proud of our 2 students 2 students from Culver City that represented in the state conference Chaya Jones and Jordan Kang make it look good all right 7 or well we've now entered the public recession portion of the meeting um publication guidelines Publications the time when members of the audience May address the board on matters listed and not listed on the agenda those persons wishing to speak should complete speak your card and submit it to the superintendent's executive assistant uh 7.2 members of the audience items not on the agenda so if you have public comment on items that are not on the agenda now would be the time if you're in person to either submit a speaker card to do the superintendent executive assistant or if you're on Zoom now would be the time to raise your Zoom hand I at this time we have 6 cards in person and I do not see any hands raised unless I'm missing something there's 2 this is not showing up on mine okay oh that's why I looked at it 10 years there we go all right we have 2 okay sounds good all right all right so with 8 public comment I think it's we're now going to close public comments I'm I'm fine with 3 each um if we could start with the people in person so we we've now closed up a comment and we're going to call the speakers who are here in person first please start with Daryl meny yeah members of the school board my name is Daryl my I am the executive director of the Culver City downtown Business Association I'm here to tell you that Culver City High School senior day is back again for downtown Culver City for those who don't know what we do we put out the names of each graduating senior on an individual pennant we put them throughout the downtown we will then have a little goodie bag once they show us that we found their penet and sort of a scavenger like atmosphere and we have tickets to various things at local restaurants we also have um a gift that we give them on behalf of the downtown Business Association uh this year it's this enamel pin which I'm sure you can all see uh this is enamel pin that says Culver City centers class of 2025 and I brought 1 today for superintendent Lucas because he's leaving us this year so he's an honorary member of the class of 2025 so um this is 1 of my favorite events of the year it's their fifth time doing it um you know when we first did this people said you're going to invite 500 teenagers downtown volunteer early right how's that going to work but you know they're all grown up now it's amazing and it's amazing to see how much fun these students have how great is to see them and sometimes their families around the downtown uh and I'm every year uh we ask for help to put up the Penance in the morning every year uh board member Guerrero is usually out with us uh anybody who's in town please come out of the morning 10:00 in the morning on Sunday I'll send around an email about that uh you can put them out get pictures of doing it figure out where your friends kids are and you all that and then you hide the ones for certain people it's a lot of fun looking forward to seeing that is May 25th Sunday May 25th from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday May 25th and 4 to 7 p.m. thank you all thank you next Francis frozen out after that will be Liz Villa good evening my name is Francis Rosenau I'm a parent with kids at labona and CCMS I commend the board and all the school sites who are addressing Mental Health Awareness Month the biggest step that we can take for our kids mental health is to take the lead in our community and give our children the gift of a phone free school day there are 2 numbers that I hope will stick with you the first number is 50 50% of 13 to 17 year olds report their online quote almost constantly the second number is 200 of school loneliness are 200% what they were in 2012 the Advent of smartphones that's double the number of kid of kids are lonely at school this is why it is so important that phones are a way for the day the whole day we ask that you agenda's phone free school day for all campuses on April 8th we had the privilege of speaking with Dr Lucas and Dr Baxter and throughout that conversation they offered to form an ad hoc committee on cell phones at the middle school and to reach out to the committee at the high school that is already piloting Solutions we look forwarding to forward to partnering with future staff in those position s and hearing how they will pick up the Baton of this partnership and leadership in our community we ask that you the board agenda is phone free school days for all campuses especially with feedback from teachers and staff about implementation strategies a special especially at the middle school and high school and a vibrant plan for parent Outreach at programs and student education there are many more numbers I could bring forward today incidents of ad laissent self harm increase in bullying psychological disorders especially in girls how many notifications the average student receives during the school day or how much information students write down when students are in phone free schools how do you measure or quantify a child's curiosity the value of daydreaming of someone noticing when you're sitting by yourself at lunch let's make sure someone notices please agenda's phone free school day thank you thank you uh Liz Villa and next we have am a hello born I'm a parent in the district of a middle schooler and a third grader I'm here to speak on cellphones specifically in regards to bullying want through all the closure eyes we all remember growing up the awkward times abraces zits and sparse facial hair now imagine someone capturing that on camera but not because you agreed to it for a yearbook but when you aren't looking or maybe you are looking in there just doing it to make fun of you once it's on their phone they can continue to torment You by sharing that photo with others and threatening to share it just to make you uncomfortable now take it a step further imagine pictures being taken by students of other students in vulnerable situations such as in a bathroom stall with pants down or in the changing area of her PE this is happening at our campuses to complicate matters in these bullying incidents if they're not address immediately the photos are more likely to be shared or uploaded to other devices or to be used for future bullying in incidents an incident reported by a family in the fall it took 5 days to get said photos off the phone so who knows how much sharing has been done and also there's fear of that family that it'll resurfaced I urge you the board to agenda size a phone free school day policy for all campuses to prevent issues of with cell phone photos especially vulnerable ones you have voted to set boundaries on many things within the school the material taught in our children's classes the length of lunch and class times the dress code all of these are to help School run smoothly every day protect our children this is no different other districts such as LAUSD have and are seeing benefits from this they're doing this please consider it thank you thank you Sam and then Wendy Hamill um hello everyone um I'm I'm let me know if my kids run out of the room but um I'm here tonight on the heels of teacher appreciation week to show support for the Educators researchers and professors who courageously spoke at the last meeting who spoke overwhelmingly in favor of maintaining our ninth and tenth College Prep English courses those who spoke were professionals who have dedicated their careers to educating our children who in many cases spend more time with our children than we do they ground their work in evidence and best practices and it took real courage to speak especially knowing that in the past asked some has have faced threats doing so I felt particularly compelled compelled by Dr Kori who's a UC Professor who studies and teaches on this very issue as Dr Kori wrote tracking undermines diversity inclusion by dividing students by race and socioeconomic status it undermines Equity by harming the academic achievement of the low track students end quote by serving those that have been historically tracked below their Readiness I truly believe that we all all of our children benefit what troubled me at the last meeting was how some in the room dismissed or disrespected our teachers that kind of behavior doesn't just undermine civil discourse instead it sends a message that knowledge and experience are expendable and important when we ignore their voices and expertise we risk losing them when we subject our teachers to threats we risk losing them and once we lose great Educators it's incredibly difficult to get them back this isn't just about a course label it's about whether we trust the people who are trained to educate our kids whether we listen to the research whether we're making decisions for the long-term health of our schools and children I asked this board to stand with our teachers at the very least ask them questions about about the research and listen to them in meaningful ways particularly where we're relying on 5 power slides to make important decisions I know that 2 members here met with teachers and listened to their concerns but it's not enough I hope that we can lead with respect and and make sure our schools remain places where great Educators want to stay and grow thank you to all the teachers who came out and spoke um I stand with you thank you thank you Wendy Hamill and then Mara bansky and I am the director of the Culver City Education Foundation I'm here tonight to share the good news that ccef annual Taste of Culver City fundraising event that took place on Sunday May 4th was a big success uh raising over 220,000 to support our schools over 900 guests sampled delicious taste from 27 local local restaurants who were generous in donating their food and enjoyed wonderful student performances and other entertainment all while supporting Culver City Schools I want to take a moment to thank our hosts and all the fun I just want to thank you everyone again for uh who was involved in supporting a taste of Culver City 2025 thank you um after this sorry uh after this is uh Dean montavo and Heather uh I see 3 people uh 2 people are late signups but we had already closed the uh the list at that point go ahead good evening board members and cabinet my name is Maria bashki and although I am speaking tonight as a member of cbac I am representing myself and I'm not speaking on behalf of committee members since our role is to represent the CC USD community in making budget recommendations to the board and superintendent I wanted to remind the community at large who we are and our meeting protocols as the community budget advisory committee we have 7 appointed community members and 1 as well as 1 teachers unions represent teachers union representative and 1 classified employee union representative our monthly meetings are open to the public during which there is an opportunity for non-committee members to speak if they choose to for a maximum of 3 minutes each after that they are welcome to stay for more of the meeting if they wish but their participation is then observational only Percy back rules they may not comment on cbac discussions or ask questions during the meeting members of the community at large May request an item be agenda is prior to the agenda being posted online which is the Friday before each Wednesday meeting as for our role our bylaws in part state that we shall quote review operational allocations to sites and departments unquote and quote review budget requests in relation to overall District needs make recommendations to develop a budget that is a comprehensive reflection of the instructional needs of the school system within Financial limitations unquote this relies on our getting information in a timely fashion when we request it through Ms Rajiv she has been diligent about giving us information when she has it but at times there have been delays from departments getting it to her to be clear we are looking and are supposed to at all departments programs and staff no particular person or department is being singled out by our requests to look closer at expenditures especially in this time of austerity measures that concludes the in person we'll move to online uh we'll start out with our helpful Honda uh person uh the montavo go ahead the are you there yes I was just able to unmute can you hear me yes we can well thank you very much to the board and cabinet who are able to come surprised me last Tuesday during Teacher Appreciation Week um it was also math State Testing so there was a lot going on that week last week so thank you thank you so much um it's always exciting to have groups of students yelling at your name all day so um as I was leaving site partnership today um a group of students asked where I was going and I said that I was trying to rush home 12 Los Angeles Mi home to make this board comment tonight because on Saturday on Dia less Modric um I was able to help chapron a group of our middle school students go to knots uh concert music let me see in the Parks um music in the Parks and they were able to win um class double a second place for our Orchestra and symphonic band 1 class double a third place and I was actually with them last year and they were able to win first place um both of them and um I just want want to tell you that it was very chaotic the morning of even though the buses were ordered um we had our itinerary ready for our over 50 students who were going to perform with instruments and 1 of our buses was not gonna get there um and we didn't hear about it um in via phone or even via the security who was there I was asking around our um Mott person said sends an email to um our music teacher at 7:53 a.m. and then the itinerary we were supposed to load the bus at 8:00 mm so about 7 minutes before we're supposed to load the bus we were told that our bus second bus wasn't going to come so we all had to scramble and put all of the instruments are very expensive District instruments in the bus it has to be climate control um I right away said that you know parent the chaperones can only go together in the minivan and stuff all of the other instruments in the minivans students did not have permission to ride in any private Vehicles only on the bus so it was very chaotic I just hope communication is improved because you know this is a pattern that I've noticed um just dealing with this during spring break I received a phone call worried about our Catalina semi trip the buses weren't going to arrive at the time that we needed them to arrive I know Panther palooza getting 3 of our elementary schools there was an issue with the buses and I'm very appreciative of the buses I understand those it's already measured so please thank you hi can you hear me excellent good evening everyone my name is Heather Moses and I am the Arts coordinator for the district just wanted to share all the goings on this month it's a very busy month um most of the stuff that I'm going to be talking about is happening at the Robert Frost Auditorium and otherwise specified so tomorrow night we have a middle school spring music concert it starts at 6:30 and then on Thursday night we have our elementary instrumental music program which starts at 7 oclock on Friday we will be doing a APA School of Visual Arts show at the glorya Kaufman Community Center at the vendee museum that is from 6 to 8 PM we also have improv this weekend the Middle School improv will be out Saturday and Sunday there's various times for that we have a music tech showcase coming up on Monday May 19th at 7 pm and our high school spring music concert is next Friday May 23rd um in addition we have a CCMS musical theater showcase coming up on Tuesday May 27th and that'll be at 6 p-m in room 108 the APA Sony film screening is coming up also on May 27th which is is full by the way but there is a son you take to where you can see the screen all the films on June 8th and finally we have the Java Gala which is kind of the big um event for the Arts on Saturday May 3rd first from 2 to 5:00 p.m. we also have Elementary Choir concerts that are happening this month at each of the individual School sites now I know that's a lot of information I do not expect anyone to have written all of that down and we now have a great Arts website site where you can get all of this information anytime you want so you can find the website at uh cusd.org um it's on the homepage under about us or you can go directly to the site at ccusd cam I hope to see you all at some of the events this uh month and that's it thank you guys for items not on agenda thank you so much uh 7.3 since the employer groups um Miss hammy if you were online that would be your time okay I'm here can you hear me okay first I to thank the board on the District administration for that wonderful Proclamation for classified employees of industrial kind of you know I always look forward to doing that every year um but that's all that I'd like to say for tonight I would like to pass my time over to Ray long Ray and I had discussions on several different issues together and he's going to resent them to you and be that on the boat so thank you very much for your time okay um thank you good evening to everyone so um again a belated happy Teacher Appreciation Week which was last week also National School nurses day and I believe next week a happy classified employees week and we also want to congratulate ate um publicly here Miss D montavo for winning the Honda helpful teacher award it was a honor for a teacher who puts in a lot of work like d to get that and uh for the union very proud because she of course is a union site rep member of our district partnership team uh former Treasurer so she's done it all with the Union as well too so we just really want to send that apprec appreciation out to D um just very quickly I want to just um touch on board meeting to quorum so I know when I walk into this um meeting room there's a big sign out there that says no signs and things like that and we also need to enforce the use of electronic signs as at the last meeting Mr Pedro for Gola decided to put um little signs up behind speakers calling them dishonest and that should never never be tolerated and I expect you all as a board to publicly call out that type of behavior um when someone does something like that uh because that is violating the decorum of this meeting um budget so talking about the budget a little bit more I'm going to continue to talk about the topic I talk about almost every meeting and that is benefit because without maintaining the current benefits in an increase in benefits our employees will be looking at a pay cut come January 1st currently cost ccusd about 600,000 um a year uh that is covers basically the increase that we get from Calpers is who we deal with um as our benefits provider dollars covered um most of the increases because as I've always said there's Calpers has never seen an increase they don't like they're supposed to be there to um help the people and they approve just about every increase insurance companies want um and you know that we're I think we all agree on that um but 600,000 is about what the cost is so 1 thing that we had proposed is during the campaign this year um measure o which is currently known as measure K uh was passed by I believe it was about 83% of our voters and 1 of the big selling points on measure K the number 1 selling point as a matter of fact uh for our community the people that voted for this and we have the poll data to back this up was retaining and attracting staff number 1 thing that our voters wanted on the last measure K report of the about 2.4 million I think about 300,000 was allocated to retaining and attracting staff so that's not meeting the needs of what our community wants and what our staff needs so we'd like to propose that 00000 be moved out of measure k to fill a spot for our benefits that employee benefits permanent please stay in measure K soon to be measure o so we don't have to come up here every year talking about this that we know that each year will at least have the bare minimum you know to get our employees through the next year then of course in good budget years we can obviously negotiate more because we always want to go more than what they're raising them uh for our employees but by shifting money to other agencies and I call on ccef to step up and help with this now I heard the great report about how much money was raised and we were calling on CCF especially to help take things that are currently in measure K and help fund those things that are in measure k a great example example of that right now in measure K is our coach's stip and our coaches are extremely important to this District what they provide at the middle school and the high school and Athletics to our students um goes beyond recognition we could move coach's stipend money and asked ccef to begin fundraising specifically for coaches stip to free up money out of measure K to move benefits into that we can also look at things things that are currently paid for by measure K and look to move them over to the lcap there is room there I've looked through it I've had the CFT analyze it there is room to move things out of measure K and move benefits in there and then then we can guarantee to our staff and to our voters who voted for this renewal that we are doing what we can to retain and attract staff because staff that will be getting a pay cut on January 1st is not a way to retain them and that's certainly not going to attract staff when many of our surrounding districts already are ahead of us in wages and salary and in benefits and most of those districts are not in the same Financial Straits so they're we going to be going up even a little bit more this year so I urge the board to ask staff to look at ways to get benefits permanently put into measure K soon to be measure o I would also like to ask the board that as you guys are looking at your superintendent search is to include the unions in a greater way than we did in the last search so over the years we've had various different ways um that they've put it in the unions and searches um including I think quite a few years back um when Patty Jaffe was our superintendent and I think we're looking for a new superintendent where uh Mr milky and Miss hammy both got to interview um final candidates um prior to the board they were not with the board but got to interview prior candidates we also know recently with uh Mr Tran uh when he was hired that we also um served on an interview panel with a few other people and we're also able to to get to know the final 2 candidates at least and make recommendations to the board as well so I urge the board to look for something new different and creative to involve the 2 employee union ccft and Ace in the superintendent search finally um as we're talking about budget um 1 concerned Federation of teachers is how we are allocating our prop 28 Arts funds so according to the law 80% of money that comes under prop 28 must be spent on classified and certificated Personnel that work for the district the remaining 20% can be spent on supplies outside contracts administrative costs and things like that 80% so CFT today sent me information that ccusd received 910,000 in proposition 28 funds last year so by my calculations 728,000 should have been spent on classified and certificated personnel I'll also put a reminder that the district and board have an mou agreement with us that we will not contract out employees unless absolutely necessary we have very specific language on when those employees can be contracted out in situations where we've tried to hire and we couldn't find anybody or situations where it's a very you know um expertise in a certain area and we might not have anyone to fill it so if we did not spend that money then the district is in violation of that mou and we will use every means we can to enforce that mou so I'm asking now for an accounting a proposition 28 money we are asking for that within 10 days so we can send this information to California Federation of teachers so they can audit it and make sure that this fulfills our current mou Miss Graco reported to me that cbac has already requested this information as well and has not received it so miss Graco is the CCF rep on that and she reported back to me that cbec is also requested this information so we'd like to get this information as soon as possible to make sure that the money was spent on certificated and classified staff that would then be our employees and then it would be eligible for membership in either our Union or in the classified Union only the last thing I'd like to say is I appreciate all the recognitions and it kind of got me reflecting a little bit as a history teacher but I know um you had mentioned the tolerance club and uh Miss Judy Sanderson was the teacher that first started the tolerance club and I uh I always had lots of great conversations with Judy over the years and the struggles that you know she actually went through um when she first started that club um and you know just how today it's just it's just a part of who we are Culver City so just I know Judy is not listening to this but just a big thanks to Judy Sanderson because she's the name behind it that started uh the tolerance Club at cchs uh we also recognize um our first transgender um prom King who was a former student of mine Nico Walker as well too so just 2 things that kind of like wow just those memories just flooded to me about good memories um that were brought up tonight thank you thank you 7.43 minutes report thank you president Isador I do have a brief uh report for you about the team gets uh the slide up thank you very much we're going to start with the next slide as been mentioned by several of our public speakers and by you you know first and foremost I want to recognize a special shout out to all our classified certificated administrative employees last week was the official certificated week and next week is the official classified week uh but the work of our employees day in and day out in support of our students is really truly simply amazing our Educators have the heart and soul of ccusd and every day they go above and beyond fostering a love of learning in our future generations and while the role of our classified staff play every single day May not be visible to all the entire School Community recognizes the immense value they bring to the well-being and success of our students from the moment our doors open to the last bell ringing to after the sun goes down our classified staff ensure a clean safe and positive learning environment I am continually impressed by the creativity and the unwavering commitment and dedication of our staff here in the district and my gratitude runs very deep and as you've already mentioned I hope you all join me in thanking your CCSD employees that our board of course in our public as well so thank you for all that you do and I know we'll have some more recognitions in next month I believe in regards to employees of the year yeah 2 weeks oh oh great May 27th awesome so um but um continuing those shout outs on behalf of our employees I want to next slide just mentioned 1 activity that happened over the last couple weeks that I think we should also be particularly proud of is our US Representative Miss Campbell or Dove has a Congressional Art contest and you see some of the images there of our students participating and some with some parents uh you know cheering them on um and I just want to note out that this was led by Miss fatini and over 70 students participate ated this year which I just think is an astronomical number and um wonderful work on the behalf of our artists uh being represented in our community um very quickly next slide not much information there because he just says it just says honors English but honors English is not on the agenda tonight and um those who attended the last board meeting know there were substantial public and board comments made I do regret some of the tone and tenor of some comments made as we continue this discussion I do hope we can model civil discourse for our students some of whom are receiving right here in the room listening uh to our engagement last week um but with that said I do want to assure both the board the faculty and the public that we listen uh to those lengthy comments and many um and passion comments and we are committed to presenting further ideas and recommendations on the issue before I leave so this is not something that's going to go away uh I know that there's a concern with that in regards to to uh you know my leaving the district and then Dr uh Baxter's uh recommendation for her new role I just want to make sure that that is clear to everyone that we will continue the conversation and the work on this um and then lastly uh I do want to say you're not rid of me yet next Wednesday is our um state of the district event Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the frost and just want to promote that uh that event and make sure you're aware 5 to will be uh meet and greet sort of an activity and then starting at 6:00 um we'll have a presentation for you about the state of our district and some thoughts um from Mr ez-door and from myself and from esteemed cabinet in regards to the work that we've done over this year and also including uh some thoughts about our future um ahead of us and I do want to give a shout out to um I was out of town unfortunately not last weekend but the weekend before I went uh to Florida as you know I'm moving to Florida and I had to take care of some business in Florida I missed some great stuff so thank you ccef for the taste of Culver City it was such a fun event that I was not able to attend this year um and then also uh so the recognitions that we've had throughout the district so sorry I wasn't able to attend but thank you for all the shout outs that were given to those um over the over the time and so with that that concludes my presentation thank you thank you Dr Lucas 7.5 student representative reports hello board members I'm rafu from CCMS uh may may marks the beginning of Asian-American native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and ASP is holding events to honor this special month various activities introducing unique Asian cultures will be held during lunchtime for everyone uh just like Miss Heather stated uh previously like just right 4 uh improv shows are this weekend at the Robert Frost Auditorium open for everyone the school musical Once Upon a mattress went really well as well also the girls softball lacrosse and track team won the championship and that's all thank you hello Dr Lucas board members and community members my name is benissa Moore ferini and I'm the student School Board member at Large for the high school college students day was May 1st and students at cchs made a video that went viral on Instagram after May 1st as weightless start to open up and students start planning for college conversations have turned to housing and final celebrations for tonight's agenda I'm interested in item 9.6 the revised board policy for the Visual and Performing Arts I would like to get some information for the students at the high school but I'm not sure how to request it last year my project for internship I did with create California whose mission is is to support Equitable and culturally responsive Arts education was a survey I did with another student but she graduated last year with the help of Dr Tom and our teachers 588 students replied to the survey which asked what our classes students wanted to uh to be added at cchs with the a million dollars provided from proposition 28 part of the million dollars goes to High School the survey showed that the top 4 classes students wanted added at the high school are photography graphic design fashion design and digital art classes that many other schools already have 70% of those students who are who replied uh that they wanted photography or they were they replied that they wanted photography at cchs and more than 50% of the students said they wanted art classes in another language other than English we presented the data to Dr Lucas Mr asador and Dr Thomas on May 23rd of last year and I wanted to see if we could tell students how the proposition 28 funds are being spent and what art programming is being added I think graphic design is being added but I'm not 100% sure um and my second year for the internship with great California and my final presentation for them next week um I just would want to include some data on how CCSD works with student voice which would set an example for other school districts on a side note this is just completely separate I want to congratulate the High School tennis team for reaching the semi-finals of the CIF Southern section tournament this is my team we play semi-finals tomorrow and this is the the first time since 2000 so 25 years since we've reached the semi-finals so hopefully we can win it uh reach the finals on Friday and win that get a ring so good evening everyone I'm Justin pouncy the ASB vice president I don't have much to report except that ASB just finished the ASB elections and ASB runoffs for our new leadership for the 2025 2026 school year our new leaders will be officially announced on Friday and we also have our ASB selection committee and I will be beginning our ASP interviews for our new members for the 2025 2026 school year at the end of this month and we also have some events coming up this month and also please look calls you know the order remember please yeah this is like record time um so I just wanted to start off uh by wishing our teachers a happy Teacher Appreciation Week a bladed 1 and our nurses a happy nurse appreciation week and in h an early happy classified employee week um I was able to attend that presentation from Honda for dont alvo um who is more than deserving that of that that award and it was really cool just how many District staff came out and Oliver colleagues and the students were so excited and the mascots were even involved in it um it was really just a pleasant um awesome thing uh that happened at the middle school campus so it was just last week um I also wanted to wish all the moms in the community and those who mother in any way a happy belated Mother's day as well I hope it was a day of relaxation and reflection for all and for those who may not be familiar with the history of the holiday Beyond cards and chocolate and generally letting your moms relax and get you to do stuff for them for just 1 day I wanted to give a little bit of historical context courtesy of the Smithsonian is hopefully Mr long will appreciate this as well um so Mother's Day in the United States started as a call for women to improve Global policy-making and seek peace and evolved to a day where we honor women's work enroll in the family Julia Ward Howe best known as the author of The Battle Hymn of the Republic was an abolitionist a women's rights advocate and a peace activist in 1870 horrified by the death and destruction that she had witnessed during the Civil War and concerned by the franco-prussian war that was unfolding abroad how issued what has been come to be known as The Mother's Day Proclamation originally called an appeal to Womanhood throughout the world in it how I urge the creation of an international body of women who would find ways to avoid avoid war and bloodshed the version of Mother's Day that we celebrate today is more directly rooted in the work of Anna Jarvis who established the holiday to honor her mother and Jarvis and was part of a national public health movement populated in large part by women reformers after the Civil War she organized a mother's Friendship Day to bring families from both sides of the war together to try to restore a sense of community and after Dan Anne's death her daughter Anna set out to honor her mother's Legacy by establishing a National Mother's Day on the second Sunday in May the day that her mother had died urging people to write heartfelt letters of gratitude to their mothers and a succeeded in request for official recognition and President Wilson issued a proclamation for the First National Mother's Day just before the start of World War I in 1914 Anna grew discontented as she noted increasing commercialization of the celebration which she had wanted was to be an Earnest holy day to become in her eyes a cross holiday benefiting florists and greeting card companies more than honoring the mothering work done by women Anna was so distraught over the way that Americans observed the holiday that she had worked so hard to establish that she started a petition to have it recalled in 1943 5 years later he died penniless in a sanitarium where her bills were paid by the same greeting card companies and florists that she despised So speaking of moms uh doing great things for others uh I wanted to move on to some community events that I had the opportunity to participate in um along with more members Laredo and Guerrero on the last Sunday in April I attended a Garden Tea fundraiser for the backpacks for kids programs sponsored by the Culver City Council PTA CCF and the Rotary Club and hosted by the vendor Museum it was a really lovely event I'm so glad the community was able to come together to support that great program and of course I also attended the taste of Culver City Event to benefit CCF on May 4th and just want to Echo Miss Hamill's comments and thanking all who attended was sponsored who contributed food and Beverages and their silent auction items and thanks also to the CC of staff volunteers and our MC's for ensuring that everything ran smoothly I know I'm always showing for CCF up here but it is truly such an important partner in the work that we do here in the district and in such challenging times with budget cuts from the state and Rising expenses we really need the community to come through through and ensure that we are able to provide a high-quality education to all of our kids that same weekend was the California high school speech Association state tournament which we hosted at our high school and middle school campuses I had the pleasure of judging a few rounds of parliamentary debate and watching the awards ceremony and and I believe I mentioned this before but it's worth repeating speech and debate are near and dear to my heart as a former high school and college competitor these activities build confidence help kids Flex their critical thinking skills and provide a creative and competitive outlet for many of them preparing them for college career and adult good more broadly I'm happy to support the growth of our speech and debate programs in our district including our established high school program and our middle school program that's new this year I hope that we can expand both of them so that more kids can participate and then finally yesterday I had my sixth listing session of my term which was really great uh we talked about all kinds of current issues in the district including graduations and our ongoing superintendent search and just as a reminder to everybody if you have not filled out the survey yet please click on the link in our district website and cover pride and provide your feedback as soon as you're able um you can also email us if you really desire to do so although I don't necessarily want to encourage emailing all the board but you you certainly welcome to do that whenever um at uh frigate uh with Brian um as well um as going to the campus beautification days uh over at Lynwood how and at uh the Middle School uh I I will say uh you know it was great to see the wonderful work that that our community puts into our schools and keeping a environment that is uh encourages uh uh Health uh and uh and and I would also say with some of these Gardens Serenity as well uh and I was especially impressed with the middle school that they moved a pile of mulch the size of a small car um and over the course of 2 or 3 hours we're able able to uh uh to spread that uh throughout the entire campus in green spaces it's an incredible work uh and a lot of people broke out a sweat which was good because uh you know with going on to taste of Culver city um the clouds did not uh scare anyone away it was an amazing event always love it uh and it was expensive to try to ship this weather from San Francisco down for the occasion um but everyone was just had it's such a great sense of community the food is phenomenal um as were the performers and just appreciate our MC's as well as I see uh Daryl uh here as well you all did a wonderful job as well thank you uh as well as people people for supporting through the auctions um uh I will be restarting uh I did have to delay a little bit just because of work uh considerations uh getting started on community events but uh we will start doing those again soon as well as I had the opportunity uh last weekend to attend jpac which is the Jewish public affairs Council this was uh on my own dime uh I try to attend this is my third year going um with the focus was very much with respect to education and make making sure that we can fund the fund the programs that help the those who need it especially our lunch programs and making sure that the state make makes available food not only to the kids but if if there's food in Security in the home it possibly extends to the parents as well so making sure that we're funding those programs and uh of course they announced as well uh a new bill to replace uh what was originally 1468 that has much broader support uh uh including all of the various ethnic and uh minority caucuses um to uh make sure that uh that our programs reflect that our students will feel safe and that they will see in their in their ethnic studies programs all of those communities that are meant to to experience that uh speaking of which and I'm just going to close on 1 thing because it is uh Jewish Heritage Month um and just as last month I talked a lot about the need ing Arab American heritage month that we have islamophobia training I I really want to thank Brian I want to thank Dr Baxter uh for the amazing work you have done with our Jewish community and I have heard this over and over again and how they feel much more safe much more welcome um and involved and and it's thanks to your work uh you know we there are a couple things that I uh ran on when I when I announced when I decided to do this exercise of of uh running for the school board uh and a lot of it was making sure that all of our communities felt safe especially our Jewish community so I want to thank you all for uh putting together uh anti-Semitism awareness training for all of our administrators and for all of us who are concerned about costs we managed to do it without affecting our budget we were able to find funding from uh the uh from uh from our Jewish Federation and by the way I forgot to mention jpac is actually not a pack it is an organization of all the Jewish nonprofit in the state groups like Jewish vocational Services Jewish Federation um uh Etc so uh and also working with all of us and I and also with our our teachers union leadership as well and classified Union uh leadership on an excused absence of policy that makes sure that we have the protections we need to make sure that our Muslim and Jewish students in their observance of their holidays are not penalized for their observance by uh having tests uh and and uh uh or major items covered on those few days in which they cannot work because of their observance so we appreciate uh I just want to again thank you for doing this and just know that all of our communities have a voice up here in our our leadership I can't say you know each individual you know speak for what they do but I can speak for all of our hearts that we we're here to make sure every student feels safe that every student feels supported and whether you are having a religious observance or no religious observance at all uh or however you express it uh or whatever your background this is a place where students should feel safe and supported and the leadership here has been very much dedicated to that so thank you for doing that thank you a lot of this is going to sound familiar uh backpacks for kids is a fantastic program thank you to everybody who does that throughout the year uh and the tea was just a wonderful opportunity to celebrate that um same with with ccef and taste of Culver City fantastic event fantastic just a great time uh but really want to thank all the volunteers and staff who worked hard to put that together um and of course all the donors from the large donors to the folks who just make small donations every day uh to help with those programs thank you very much for that um a couple of open houses laiona had a great open house really well attended uh same thing with with uh Farragut um these open houses are great opportunities just to get in and see the the amazing things that our our teachers are doing in classrooms and the way they interact 1 of the things that's been really impressive to me in in so many of the open houses is kind of the self-guided tours that students are giving you know they'll have a checklist or a bingo card or some kind of system where they're the ones showing their parents all the uh wonderful things they're doing and and I joked with a couple teachers that that open house is so much less pressure than back to school back to school it's the teacher up front kind of explaining everything to the parents open house it's kind of the kids running the show which is awesome um also want to do the speech uh competition it was fantastic um at the high school amazing that that we were able to host that Statewide event um and did it I know um the the coach Coach Carter put a lot of work into that and had a lot of support from different people to get that together and to host that so thank you to everybody who made that possible um we have State Testing coming up or or or engaged in State Testing already it's uh grades 3 through 8 and 11 uh at various times so hang in there um you know it's a it's an opportunity for students to kind of show off everything they've learned I know they sometimes feel a lot of pressure I wish I could uh talk them back from that because there's a lot of uh eyes on folks during testing and test scores and things like that but uh I I'm confident that that just show them what you know and and you know a lot and you you'll you'll do fine um and and just again uh the support staff that's making that possible the teachers that are running through that it's you know it's not not the most fun week of teaching but you you do a good job with it um happy Teacher uh Appreciation Week educator appreciation week that happened last week and classified week that's coming up thank you to everybody who attended the bites of the board members with uh board member Loretta and I think that's it thank you all very much good evening all um I I want to continue thinking my colleagues for also being so visible and present at a time when um I've needed to take a little bit of a step back so thank you so much um I think it means a lot to the community that um that when 1 of us or more of us cannot be at a certain um event where we're expected to um see the support from board members I it makes them feel like um they are um being seen and heard and so thank you so so much um I do want to um thank the folks that came to bites with board members and um where we continued a budget and committees 101 um and the board member Guerrero and I will continue to meet with individuals or groups of people who were unable to attend and we um and I continue to advocate for uh Revenue Asian-American native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander folks that we can recognize and celebrate and this is also a time when we may reckon with our checkered past including the annexation of the Olinda campus nearly 75 years ago when a recently res released from internment camps um Japanese-American families Farm was seized through eminent domain um I'd like you to reflect on this CC USD Legacy the next time you pass by the alenda campus or pass through the campus and visit the Garden at cchs that was named after the kunisawa family and I want to thank also um staff members who are currently and have worked in the past um to make sure this Garden continues um including Dr Tano um and just to shout out some um Heritage Month uh events this uh Council PTA is having aapi ccusd picnic on potluck on Sunday May 18th at 12:30 at a local park uh there isn't a short URL but you can there is an RSVP but you can email family aapi gmail.com for more information um there also open to the public is cchs uh class of 2025 aanhpi graduation which is Wednesday May 25th at 6:30 at the Robert Frost Auditorium so if you would like to come and join us uh celebrating these students please uh please come and send them off thank you very much so much colleagues I will be brief I want to join my colleagues again recognizing teacher appreciation week and classified Employee Appreciation week as well as joining my colleagues in congratulating Miss montavo I have the opportunity to be at that that um that recognition that was really exciting for 2 Reasons 1 it's always exciting when our um get recognized but 2 that was like my childhood when I was a kid driving a school I was listening to help a Honda Awards on the radio and so it was very cool to see uh an award recipient happened in person so that was very cool um congrats uh 20 on and 6 as for Taste of copper City unfortunately I was I was also out of town so I I couldn't be there but that 1 always my 1 of my favorite events and and I'm just continued to be so inspired by how things used to grow and and the work that you all do for our community I had the opportunity to join to my colleagues at an event with Team New Zealand um maybe a few weeks ago it's a really exciting opportunity I I believe the cities officially hosting Team New Zealand right yeah maybe yeah I think it looks good um but they're they're exploring a partnership with Team New Zealand and and Culver City being the home base for Team New Zealand but they've really been excited to reach out to the school district on what a partnership would look like and how they continue to highlight um some fun stuff I mean cover City and with covers over to school district that's really exciting it was a great event it was great to meet some of the people who've been organizing that event um or organizing that from the team New Zealand side and for them to meet to me nothing to you to have this conversation it's really exciting that's all I have I'm calling you so we need like yeah I think we should guess right I trust that we can be very fast um great no break 9.1 well information that I have is 9.2 first read of the board policies I actually thought we were going to go through them all up well I was I was just going to suggest potentially if the board wishes to do that you know 9.2 through 9.13 are all are all the first reads of our regular gamut updates and um uh that we are doing on the basically every month or quarterly basis and so you uh have the content of the changes that were listed in the narratives of each item and again these are first reads for making sure that we get them out there in the public for review and for your review and we always take your comments via email or any other sorts of ways that you would like to edit edit them um so I leave it up to you about how you'd like to progress through each 1 if you prefer an individual uh announcement or uh a bulk is okay I think we've I think we may be able to go through them uh so I just wanted to yeah digital colleagues aware this is just did we explained that this was just like us catching our bylaws up the reason why they're comfortable going through them all at once is because this is just like us updating our bylaws to make sure that we're compliant with state law um and a lot of these if I met or just things that have changed in the last year their recent updates to state law that you know csba pushes out a you need to update your bylaws on on kind of thing so and they're pretty I mean we've gotten better and I don't know if it's because we're now using the other system for our bylaws but it's much more clear what those changes are uh with the struck and underlying languages and things like that and you can tell pretty easily what they are so if I can suggest that um from 9.2 to 9.13 plus 916 and 1512 that if anybody has any amendments that they need to speak out loud now would be the time and if not that doesn't mean that they that you can't contact our uh leadership team offline and suggest amendments I'm fine with are we comfortable with that yeah it's fine yeah great just calling have any questions okay uh what's the first 1 that we're going to take up individually 914 914 would be uh Dr good and to explain some of our uh uh job description changes 914 is an up description in Our IT department for a computer network technician um these are positions that were last updated in the um early 2000s and the um the role of technology has expanded since that time so for example our current job description doesn't talk anything about software be or or online programs because those were not things that were used ently at that time um so this is just an update to ensure that this job description reflects the actual work that's being done by our um computer network technicians discussion colleagues that that again this is 9.15 is similar this is for a computer specialist position um we have we have 2 employees that work as computer Specialists and 1 of them specifically um worked with our student information systems that person has retired so this was an opportunity for us to update this job description to ensure that it um encompassed all of the duties that were held by both individuals that sit in this job description and we are working to ensure that um the current person in the position plus our new person that is trained is that they're both trained in all of the jobs duties that follow under this job description so again this is just us making sure that this job description accurate accurately reflects the um the work that's being done colleagues that did you yeah please listen so much a question is just pointing out so this is the best way in which we can in which we can help with our our shortfalls that we're dealing with our finances is when people leave through attrition and retiring we can collapse levels of management figure out ways of reorienting and this is a great step in that direction I know people especially with tech we want to make sure that our our classrooms are covered that our information systems um and that stuff is being pushed out to our to our parents when they need to know it uh and I know that was a concern brought up uh with our you know with respect to um when we had to take the steps we had to take in order to deal with our budget shortfall so this is going to be covering a lot of those and just making sure that we're we're recovering those as well right yes but I just want to be clear that um the intent of this was not to combine positions together um it was just that the work looks different for what but these job descriptions are doing now then what that work looks like you know in 2000 I think 1 of them was written in 1998 um so the work is just different based on the needs of technology and and the um what you are referring to sort of that reorganization um is you know we want to make sure that people are doing what's within their job descriptions um but the reorganization was separate of updating these job descriptions okay well you know I'm hopeful that we can eventually know how to deal with Cobalt anymore either I think that's very uh last century but yes thank you kind of on that same topic I just wanted to so this skill set lies with 2 different people within the because 1 of the things I remember from the 9 position kind of study by school Services is 1 of the things that they pointed out is at that time there wasn't a lot of redundancy in skill set so when somebody retired it was gone and there would be nobody in the district with that but we're making sure that we've got at least 2 people who know how to do these things so they can at least yes that's exactly what we're doing right now and that's exactly what happened so the person that retired was handling all of our student information systems and had all of that information where the other person that was sitting in that same job classification that just wasn't what that person was doing so making sure that that person Now is working with student information systems and the person that we hire once we have this updated job description and post the position also understands what that when they come in we want them to be you know able to work with our overall technology but then also to have an understanding of student support systems and calpads okay fantastic thank you any other position great and I believe that was the last 1 from okay 13 yeah so 13 yeah 131 approved oh great right discussion colleagues um I just had uh 1 question uh I'm sorry that I didn't include this before but like you um is so this this is for both Mott and it um moving forward but you're going to you're and obviously you're going to have some kind of phasing because this is not what we currently use for work orders for faurot right so we use School dude we are going to move both the all the department school is a work order system so we are going to actually migrate from school due to um Master Library effective July so migration is going to happen during this time but we'll be parallel using both the other system I think we have time until February all those in favor say I I I 13 too this is the soil um geotechnical soil report um the consultant whining will be doing at Linwood Howe for the temporary for the permanent shade structure to the tune of 26,241 and a measure e move to approve second discussion colleagues all those in favor say I I I 133 133 is the resolution um to approve the change order for the roofing project that happened at El Marino there was um the pro the project actually had a different time schedule and then because of the noise and the dust level that our staff could not um handle so we had to move extend their time so because of this extension of the time there is a change order to the tune of 18,844 coming out of measure I'd like to move to approve 133 and 134 together since they're the same um the same site and roof Mr do you that's fine if that's a permissible you amend your yes I will amend myself is there any discussion colleagues this is what they say I I 135 the next contract is to approve the incore um to provide the asbestos abatement monitoring services at the middle school we upcoming summer we have the roofing project Roofing replacement project happening at the middle school to the tune of 5,500 dollars at measure e move to approve second discussion call you Mr lockman 1 because I know you're muted I turned it off um I know that um for the frost asbestos is 1 of the major reasons why that went through the roof um and I knew that some people had just raised a building this old is going to have possibly have it so we we have contingencies in place and this is not so much with this contract but just aware that uh and trying to make sure we don't have a repeat of the mistakes made from last time yes we do have the contingency plan okay none all those in favor say I I 136 so this is the jetting and vacuuming Services um for surveying of storm and Sewer lines for eldering conned Linwood and Laban Elementary School to the tune of 31935 using measure e dollars move to approve second the discussion colleagues seeing none all those in favor say I I I 137 so we have a next item is that we have a vacancy in the measure ye citizens Bond oversight committee and then we have received an application Mr Johnson applied for the position uh and he fills the category of being a member of the CCF board and um we um seeking your approval to approve second discussion calling yeah you keep reading yourself when you speak you keep muting yourself keep doing that to myself granted the fact I'm the 1 that they're replacing I'm glad that they finally found someone even better okay I asked um because sometimes we are um we're we are filling a remainder of uh seat and that we're not going to in the past it's been like okay it's uh there was precedent on other uh appointments that we are uh that the beginning of their term is at appointment but this is filling a vacant seat and so I would like to make sure that it's noted moving forward that this whole set of folks are going to come up at the same time and not that we are going to take this particular seat up again like a couple months later that this is a school we'd also had a discussion and some folks who presented uh some some requests about naming of the the baseball field can we just make sure that's on the horizon or get an update on on looking at that yeah I think it is on the right I don't maybe we can get some information in the Predator report about what yeah okay cool a German move to the second by member lock when I was in favor please
