for which it stands 1 nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all met and acknowledgement do you have it open Mr Guerrero oh we acknowledge our presence on the traditional ancestral and unseated territory of the Kish and tongva peoples who are the original caretakers of this land thank you 3.4 Public Announcement of actions taken by the board in closed session uh we have a few truth I will read out right now by a unanimous vote the board discussed and took action in closed session on agenda item 2.3 to approve the presented agreement for case number 2025 923a by unanimous vote the for discussion took action in closed session on agenda item 2.3 to approve presented agreement for case 2025 923 B and the last 1 by unanimous vote the board discussed and took action in closed session on agenda item 2.3 to approve the presented agree payment for case number 2025 923 C adoption of the agenda yeah you need to unmute I think we have a motion by Mr lachman to adopt agenda second second by member Carlson do we have any discussion is there anything we need to poll no all those in favor say I I I I 4 eyes um 6.1 Awards recognition presentation National Hispanic Latino Latina latinx Heritage Month Proclamation um just so Dr Jimenez understands the board typically takes turn reading the proclamation and then we presented it there are people here to the uh certificate so we will do that um if we could start with member Carlson and move this way I mean use your best judgement I'd say maybe 3 Lines each okay sounds good um whereas we celebrate the achievements of Hispanic and Latino Americans and their important role in the history and Heritage of our nation and whereas Hispanic and Latino Americans have enriched our nation through contributions in many professions and Fields including education law government business science Sports and the Arts and whereas the hard work and determination of Hispanic and Latino Americans continue to inspire all those who dream of a better life for themselves and their families and whereas to honor the achievements and contributions of Hispanic Latino Americans the United States Congress enacted Public Law 100 420 which authorizes and requests the president to issue annually a proclamation designating September 15th to October 15th as National Hispanic Heritage Month and whereas the core seating fights go direct values diversity and according to me CCSC is the 10th most diverse School District in California racially ethnically linguistically with Hispanic Latino families representing Spanish indigenous African Latin American and Caribbean heritage and whereas 37.4% of CCSD students identify as Hispanic or Latino Latina Latina latinex and 28 CC's teachers and certificated staff identify as Hispanic or Latino Latino Latina Latin X and 49.23% of ccsd's classified staff identify as Hispanic or Latino Latina Latino latinx and we're a Spanish is the most widely spoken language among the 55 languages in the district and whereas ccus do you recognizes the importance of the culture and language of our Hispanic and Latino Latino latinx student staff and families in alignment with the district's core beliefs that everyone deserves to be treated with respect honoring diversity makes us stronger and a sense of family and belonging is integral to our lives and whereas ccusd offers dual language programs promoting the California Pathway to bi Literacy for Fifth and eighth graders with 7037 of our uh of all completers in 20242 5 identifying as Latino Latino Latina latinx Or Hispanic and 31% of Latino Latino Latina latne latinx Or Hispanic graduates earning a seal of bi literacy in high school in 2024 and whereas cover uh cover City High School continues to benefit from a thriving organization that has existed for over a decade to celebrate and honor Hispanic and Latino Latina Latina ex students as well as a growing affinity group and whereas a self-help Graphics art through its bio mobile Art Studio BMA as has provided opportunities for students to engage in Hands-On cultural experiences including workshops that preserve and and celebrate Traditions such as theater uh thereby supporting CC usd's efforts to deepen cultural understanding and honor Heritage and whereas the Culver City United uh Unified School District Board of Education reaffirms its ongoing commitment to the principles as uh out as outlined in the previous adopted 22 2024 25 resolution number 21 success means safety for all Culver City Unified School District campuses is safe zones and Resource Centers for students and families which declares All ccusd Families a campuses a safe spaces for students family members including those who are undocumented ensuring that they may seek help assistance information and sanctuary in times of fear or anxiety related to immigration can you read the I can yeah whereas connect whereas connections will continue for families with organizations that provide access to Legal Services for CCSD students and families who are undocumented citizens and now therefore we the cover City Board of Education proclaims September 15th through October 15th as National Latino Latino Latino latinx Hispanic Heritage Month and from there forward each school will engage in programs and activities that celebrate the contributions of our students staff families and Community who are Latino Latina Latina and next Hispanic I believe we have do we have people here to accept yeah trustees we have recipients from the Culver City High School lafua club and they're going to be accepting the national Latin Hispanic Heritage Month Proclamation so would Rosemary quintile the advisor come on down with eleana Blanco the co-president Camilia prietto the vice president Angie magia our social media Communications Haley Garcia the secretary and Brenda Louise Allah the ICC rep give them a round of applause ER lesson learned I need a couple more setups public recognition we will start with 7.2 members of the audience items not on the agenda so now is the time when members of the audience May address the board on matters not listed on the agenda those persons wishing to speak should complete a speaker's card and send it to the Super Chat executive assistant um and the interest of time and Order procedure for the public are limited to 3 minutes per person the board will limit public comment and put 20 minutes for Nona items so if you want to speak now would be your time to submit your speaker card if you're in person if you're on if you're on Zoom that would be the time to raise your Zoom here I'm having some issues signing on to the zoom so I'm that's what I've been um okay if someone are you on Zoom a list of how many are currently online 3 we have 3 online and 3 in person okay um we can give it like a few more seconds before we yeah okay last call going going on okay I think we can close please thank you uh we have uh Frank Franklin Windham Junior good evening my name is Franklin William Junior and I was supposed to start my first year of high school in August 20th but for almost a month I haven't been able to go to school anywhere my sister already goes to co City Middle School I just want to be here and cover City with her it's hard knowing that she gets to go to school every day while I stay at home waiting for a decision I've been working hard to get ready for high school I trained with the JV football team this summer I've been waiting to be a part of Rice's passage program where I learned discipline responsibility I want this chance to prove to myself to my teachers and coaches and to this community every day I miss and fall further behind I just want the same opportunity as every other student to learn to be a part of a team and to start my next you're off right it feels like 1 person has been standing in the way of that for me to get a fair chance I asked at this board makes sure no other student has to go through what I'm going through and please review this policy so every kid gets to start school more time thank you for listening thank you very much uh next uh Mila Moraga hope no hi good evening president members of the board and superintendent Jimenez which I haven't met yet and my name is Miriam moraka holds I was the co-chair of both measure ebond campaign and the measure of personal tax campaign last year I'm here tonight in a representation of a group of Culver City parents and community members that are interested in passing a partial tax for our schools as a citizen initiative by putting this partial tax as a citizen initiative on developed we only need % of Border approval to pass instead of the 2/3 approval needed if this was a school district initiative if enough signatures are collected in favor of the election from within the community and presented to the city council the city we must call an election to consider the partial tax measure and the approval threshold for the measure is only 50% as I mentioned before this group of parents are interested in pursuing a Citizens initiative partial tax to benefit CC USD and we will be working to make this happen starting now hopefully we can get this on the ballot by next year maybe June it's our understanding that if we pass this partial tax by then the funds could be available as soon as the 2026 2027 school year this type of initiative can only be done by the community not by the district so I'm not asking for your help but only letting you know that this process is underway as the district is also considering implementing a partial tax everyone in this room knows the desperate need we have to balance our budget we all want to see our district flourish and be the best it can be for our students teachers and staff and we think this could be a good way to do it there is the possibility of course that were not able to gather the many signatures that are needed hopefully you know by next February the end of February in which case you know we will have to default to the district initiative of course okay thank you for your time thank you Mila Moraga hauls um I just realized that it was Franklin Windham senior still has uh has requested to speak that was Junior so my apologies sir go ahead good evening good evening president Isadora um Miss Carlson Mr Guerrero and Mr lachman trustees superintendent Jimenez and members of the community as you know my name is Franklin Windham senior and I'm here as a single father and a parent of 3 children 2 of whom are out so legal and physical custody first I want to thank my son for his courage it's been over a month uh into the school year and he has still no placement on May 8th I submitted a complete uh inner District permit application for my son to attend Culver City High School next door to where his sister is enrolled in her second year at Culver City Middle School I provided every required document and followed every step of the process in good faith over the summer no decision was issued had the denial come earlier we could have appealed in time for Franklin to start school with his peers instead the denial was delayed until after school started on August 20th which left him displaced from day 1 that's nearly a month of lost instructional time under CCU SD's own published policy it requires a decision no later in the 14th after the start of the school school year that deadline was September 3rd instead of receiving a timely decision we were pushed into an appeal process shift with shifting dates on September 9th I submitted a full appeal packet with letters of support from mentors and Community leaders we received response via email stating a decision will be made after September 16th it wasn't to I physically went into the district office and followed up with staff that the committee would wait until another 5 days to meet which is today and now here we are the truth is this process has been controlled by a single gatekeeper at every step and instead of timely action we were told to wait the result is not just a denial but a denial that was strategically delayed in a way that caused maximum harm to my son's education Athletics and well-being this this is not just about Franklin it exposed systemic flaw no single administrator should have unchecked power to delay decisions that keep children out of school families deserve a transparent process with enforceable timelines not shifting dates that leave students in limbo Franklin has done everything asked of him he trained with the junior varsity team he committed every Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 11 to the Rites of Passage program and he recently joined the 100 black men young black Scholars Program to improve academically he has shown discipline and effort but he never had a fair chance to start this year on time because of administrative delay at the district level for the record Franklin qualified under 3 stat priority factors sibling enrollment parent employment within District boundaries and child care need I'm just asking the board I'm urging the board to do 2 things today to ensure Franklin is granted immediate placement so he can begin the ninth grade year without further loss as well as review and reform this process on no other family experiences to the same displacement caused by administrative gatekeeping our students cannot afford lost weeks of Education Franklin and every student deserve better thank you thank you very much moving to online uh Sophie Spillers you have 3 minutes hello members of the board and superintendent humanz I'm soie Spillers a cchs freshman and a Girl Scout Cadette working on completing My Girl Scout silver award along with my sister T member and cchs freshman Kate we have come here tonight to ask for your support for a low cost High project regarding sun safety and skin cancer awareness we both agreed that the lack of skin cancer awareness specifically in the pre-teen age group is a pertinent and overlooked matter and urgent need of advocacy we have spent approximately 50 hours working with support from the district nurse adult volunteer years and other Healthcare officials to compile information of flyers and presentations that we are hoping to share with the district students and families through District communication channels we have shared an email with the school board president and superintendent Jimenez outlining our work with attached files to our presentation and we're asking for your approval of these materials so that the school administrators could send them to their students and Families additionally we would like to request the school board agendas having high UV levels share just like poor air quality through individualized school loudspeaker announcements and the quad emails when it is at an extreme of 11 plus the index would be based off of the epa's credible app and program sunwise our goal would be to work alongside District technology officials to automate these communications thank you so much for your attention then we are eager to work with you and open to any feedback have a great evening thank you very much next is Megan odsonne you have 3 minutes thank you um good evening superintendent and members of the board and welcome Dr Jimenez to CCSD my name is Megan odsonne Goodwin I'm a Culver City parent um I'm the first VP of the Culver City Council PTA a member of the district advisory committee for special education member of the ca I see for the Tri-City selpa and a member of the Laona PTA board I'm also a gun violence prevention Advocate who works with school boards as well as local municipalities such as Culver City La City LA County Burbank Santa Monica and Monterey Park on gun policy and that is the capacity in which I'm speaking tonight um on September 12th following a Spate of deadly shootings in our country including 2 high profile school shootings I wrote to you nudging that it may be a good time to point to the district's gun violence prevention resolutions which women and guns gun violence and cover 878 partnered with ccusd on 2024 and in 2019 The Silence of the district following these major school shooting events was noted by many families who during times like this are desperately looking for reassurance that their kids are being protected the best they can on school campuses my emails were not answered and messaging around safe storage or gun violence prevention was communicated through the cover Pride or any other communication so I'm here tonight simply to remind you all of your responsibility of sensitivity to at least acknowledge parents and students fears after kids have been gunned down and killed in their classrooms there's precedent here with this kind of messaging most recently by superintendent Brian Lucas in terms of soup Dr Steven Keller and even Kwak Tran if you could also consider circulating at as the past superintendent did the non-controversial life-saving and already District approved information regarding secure firearm storage and gun violence restraining orders or at least point to the resolution's detailing it that would be even better this information cannot be shared enough as people don't know what they don't know and many will need it to will need to have it put in their face over and over for it to make a difference doing this can and will save lives I remain um available to you if you have any questions about this um and would be happy to collaborate on any kind of messaging if you need help um also please let that young man Franklin start school at cusd perhaps with compensation toy services to make up for the educational time loss thank you so much thank you very much and uh finally Melissa Sanders you have 3 minutes good evening um I missed the last school board meeting ability to talk because I was being distracted and so I would appreciate if you would have perhaps extend the time where people can raise their hands um number 1 number 2 Andrew I'm shocked you're actually at the meeting so yay uh you're but the district's lack of inclusivity continues for a district that claims to be all about Dei um number of observant family members and uh other people who I know are not on this meeting because they're being Russia Shana and I am hoping my kid didn't miss anything I warned her teachers and crossing my fingers so this is an ongoing issue that if every other District can handle I cannot believe that a district of 6,000 plus kids cannot be resolved um this has got to stop it is just unfair and there's other holidays that need to be uh addressed for other religions Etc that take place during the school day so enough about that um I am you know need to be frustrated by several things um I am stunned that suddenly you guys are begging for kids to come in and this kid can't come in I'm sure there are 2 sides to the story but odd choice to not let a kid in at this point right um considering all of the heads that are being begged for uh which is the other thing we need to consider uh you are asking and have asked and we are paying for a lot of parcel taxes and bond measures for this district for there to be another 1 with virtually zero zero showing of anything actually being accomplished pathetic and whether it's by the citizens or the district I don't really care but you've got a huge bond that we just passed and there's no significant building taking place there is no High School being redone you guys are the most short-sighted group of people I do not understand you want to attract people to stay in the district then maybe have buildings that don't fall down on their kids maybe have a state of the art High School lab a swimming pool things that kids would want to do and parents would be encouraged to have their kids stay here but you're wasting all of our bond money on paint and duct tape and I'm sick of it all of these things can be resolved if you just get out of your box and think long term about what is best for this District period we will never be equitable it's not going to happen not when you have 5 schools with all these different specific things they focus on thank you thank you all right this concludes the uh speakers for items not on the agenda thank you um 7.3 CC employee groups and now miss McBride is um giving comment on behalf of ACS she's online um so miss McBride now would be the time to um unmute please when I see ya hi hi this is summer McBride a secretary our president Debbie hammy is unable to be here this evening so I'll speaking on behalf of Ace I don't have a lot to report but there is an issue of concern that I'd like to uplift recently the district made the decision to eliminate the director of security position as part of budget cuts while we understand that many districts are sized don't employ such a role Culver City unique size and density roughly 7,000 students and hundreds of employees across multiple sites makes coordination essential it's my understanding that without a central point of contact security staff now report to individual principles in the past practice security has been concentrated at the Middle High School complex while the elementary schools would only see Patrol as needed or when called Safety and Security protocols have been a topic of discussion at many of our site and District partnership meetings in recent years while I appreciate the district's willingness to engage in these critical discussions we still lack Clarity regarding Safety and Security protocols recently there was an emergency that impacted multiple sites the August 29th incident near the Julian Dixon Library tested our system and re built a lot of areas for improvement I was there that afternoon traffic was misdirected students were routed towards the area closest to the threat and many families were confused and fearful if the threat had been more serious the outcome could have been tragic we need better systems in place include developing clear district-wide protocols that don't simply add responsibilities to already overburden site administrators and staff we'd like to know during a multi-campus emergency who ensures coordination and timely communication will that person be on on site or making calls from district office how will staff be notified of the impact and security response while no system is perfect it's important to regularly evaluate whatever systems we have in place to ensure the safety and well-being of every student and staff across all Sites additionally and still related to safety I want to uplift a long-standing request from longtime parent volunteer and Advocate make an odsonne who you just heard from over the years Meghan has been diligent about helping ensure the district includes safe firearm storage reminders and parent handbooks and digital Communications like Cobra Pride this is not a partisan issue it's about protecting lives the board has previously passed resolutions on safe storage and reaffirm that commitment in 2019 following the passage of Senate Bill 9006 under the law as you all know school districts are required to include in the annual parent Guardian notifications information about safe storage of firearms and child access prevention laws as well as gun violence restraining orders or red flag laws as recently as 2024 this board also passed a resolution on gun violence prevention emphasizing safe storage and responsible ownership in past years the board required or at least encouraged and acknowledgement from families regarding safe gun storage it's our duty to ensure student safety which includes educating families who need regular reminders about these responsibilities and resources especially after another week of deadly school shootings in our country September is also Suicide Prevention awareness month and research shows that Secure Storage is 1 of the most effective ways to reduce risk to youth keeping this connection in mind strengthens the urgency of consistent communication to families I strongly encourage the board to use your communication platform to highlight This Again cover pride is a great it's a great way to reach staff and families whether it comes from the superintendent or from the board really makes no difference however it would be impactful if the board showed your support for our students and staff safety by including it in the board Corner the space designated in over Pride for issues you all find most important your influence might make a difference for those who care about where you stand on the issue of gun safety I want to emphasize regarding both our Safety and Security protocols as well as the safe gun storage I am not a assuming that nothing is being done behind the scenes but the absence of communication and transparency creates an abundance of fear and insecurity students and staff should not have to guess about safety because when we are left guessing we assume there is none we don't expect Perfection but we do expect intention leadership and regular communication our community deserves to know that safety is being taken seriously the lessons are being learned and that systems are in place to protect all of our students and the hundreds of employees who Welcome to our campuses and into our office buildings every day in closing I urge the board and District leadership to treat this as an urgent priority clarify coordination uplift safe storage communication and give staff and families the confidence that our schools are prepared and recognition of Suicide Prevention awareness month by linking safety protocols with mental health awareness we acknowledge that preventing access to unsecured Firearms is not only a school safety measure but also a critical Sue Suicide Prevention strategy for all as you all know the association the association of classified employees is an affiliate of the California Teachers Association which firmly believes a truly safe School setting must extend beyond freedom from danger to Freedom From Fear of danger which inhibits teaching and learning as well as participation in school and community activities we look forward to discussing this and other timely matters in this week's Labor Management partnership meeting as is ready and willing to be a partner in increasing safety for our entire School Community thank you so first I'd like to wish uh my friends uh family members colleagues and community members in the Jewish Community um a Happy New Year 5786 as it starts at the beginning of the uh hi holy holidays um I appreciate working with Dr Heinrich on getting the messaging out to our administrators around our excused absences policies uh for Rocha Shana and Yom kipur which are both coming up and in the spring for Eid Alfa tier um this year Good Friday holiday does fall during spring break and also um appreciation for the Hispanic Latino um heritage month that also begins this month um tonight on the agenda there is a discussion around on a potential parcel tax and I appreciate the discussion around it and I was actually quite fascinated by uh Mia Moraga hassas um discussion around a um citizens partial tax which I've kind of heard a little bit about before and I definitely interested in hearing more about that um as I know most of our cabinet here is relatively new to CC OSD um especially around partial taxes and bonds um so I want to give some thought um to someone who's been actually fairly involved and um our last 2 partial taxes measures k and o and our bond measures um measures CC and e um so last Fall's measure oh parcel tax by the way had the highest pass rate of any tax or bond in LA county and I believe also the state of California with an 83.3% pass rate um so why this happened this happened because of a thoughtful process of bringing together the labor unions community members ccusd city council and local businesses although we had a short amount of time and not a lot of money raised to be honest with you we were highly successful I know myself I met with community members who had been skeptical of our measure e Bond initiative that had gone in the spring and wanted to speak to them personally about their concerns about measure o I also work closely with Daryl meny and the downtown business district talked or met with our city council members and people that were running for City Council um talked extensively with 3 of our current school board members uh people that were running for school board 2 of you that are up here now as well um and the third person that was also running for school board to kind of get everybody on board with this as well as working closely with the co-chairs Mila Moraga holes and Meredith Johnson and our goal was to build a coalition so that was the whole goal as we built a coalition um and we also did that with our partners at the CFT and the LA County Federation of Labor AFL CIO what's really important is 1 is building that Coalition we had such a high rate because we went out and we built that Coalition we had uh people from all ends of the Culver City political Spectrum on board with this partial tax member is the polling and with the polling showed us is at the top 2 items that were most important to our community members are retaining and attracting staff and keeping class sizes low now tonight there's going to be a budget presentation um and we want to make sure that we build a broad Coalition now on the presentation tonight on the PowerPoint those 2 items are not there and again I know that everyone's kind of new here and I really think it's important that you know that that the number 2 things in the polling that was done and I can tell you I knocked on a lot of doors and I locked on a lot of doors with Andrew and Lindsay both and I know Brian you lock knocked out a lot of doors and nothing interesting you did too that's what the community is saying retaining and attracting staff is by far are the number 1 Thing That Matters to this community and we have to make sure that that is out in front that is important that is flashing and that people see that because that's what helped us get 83.3% so that I urge that we work with everyone on this partial tax all our political clubs all our businesses all our city council members all our staff all our community members we listen we get feedback we do good polling again uh and we we pass a partial tax that's going to help ccusd students and staff to get where it should be because we really need that I also want to just wrap up with safety as well too and I appreciate the comments that Miss McBride uh made and that look forward to discussing this issue in our larger uh Labor Management partnership I want to specifically though focus on some security issue specifically at our lenda complex so I appreciate Dr Jimenez um sending me a message today that addressed I'm a number of the concerns that we have at the alenda complex unfortunately um many not many but some of those concerns are not addressed the biggest concern I want to bring to the board's attention and everyone's attention is the entrance on here Avenue the Heron Avenue and Braddock Drive Entrance this is a serious danger to students I I'm just going to say this again a serious danger to students to have students walking in front of cars staff are entering that and and today was even worse because they were doing Bond construction today they were out there taking a soil samples um so heavy machinery heavy equipment of any day we definitely should have had somebody at that gate making sure kids were not walking into an active construction zone as cars were coming in and navigating all kinds of new new ways because they couldn't get to normal parking uh we are just asking for an accident to happen a sign is not going to change it putting a sign up saying this is a staff parking lot I've said this before to High School administration they just don't seem to listen to me on this that is not going to change anything that is not going to change student Behavior take this from someone who's been educating kids for over 30 years that's not going to change you need someone at that gate directing students to enter the school on the lender or to enter the school on harder that's how we're going to get students to change their behavior this is a dangerous situation that the district needs to act on immediately by stationing a security guard to direct students away from a dangerous entrance on harder and Braddock ccft has filed a grievance today because of this un safe condition that has happened at the high school we have reported this condition to Administration and Administration has failed to act on this so we have filed a grievance with the High School administration that this is an unsafe condition at the high school we are also stating that the staff parking lots are also an unsafe place for students to be it's unsafe for students to be in staff parking lot thoughts and it's also not safe for staff's vehicles for their own personal property accidents can happen so let's avoid accidents by making sure that security is patrolling staff parking lots during the lunch and nutrition periods at cchs the only other final request I would ask with the middle school is that the Lindberg Park gate they were saying that there isn't um a lot of students entering at 7:30 I just want to make sure that we have information on what time that that gate would be open for students in that communicated out to parents um and to our staff knowing that what time that gates open what time it is manned so we know that we have safety at that Lindberg Park Bridge gate for our CCMS and for our Farragut students as well thank you let's see if we can this report good evening board president Isadora and members of the board staff families and communities uh for this evening for the superintendent report I can get the next slide just like to provide a quick update as to just some of the things that are happening in our community and so I'd like to report that after a month of school our enrollment is stable that it is uh higher at this time and I believe the amount is a little off what we have the enrollment report uh but it's right in the in that same uh range so we're glad to see all of our employees all of our community members really answering the call to ensure that our students are enrolled uh the next item cbec applications we did put some announcements out there that we do have vacancies on the committee and when alternate positions so we want to encourage members of the community to please uh if you have time to volunteer it's not a whole lot of meetings but your input is greatly needed and necessary and the next item I'd like to update uh the board on is uh promoting a safe and secure learning environment for our students there's been a lot of work being done and the legislature with respect to securing and making our communities safe from immigration enforcement so we have SB 98 which requires alerts when immigration enforcement is present and ab 49 which prohibits the school staff from allowing immigration authorities unless they have a valid traditional warrant subpoena or court order so we will be providing information to our administrators actually uh this week there's also a toolkit involved that will be providing them with so that they have that resource and they have the guidance as to what to do if they are uh in this situation and are around their campus with the immigration enforcement happening in the area uh the last thing on this slide I like to point out is our cell phone policy committee is the implant and I want to appreciate and thank all of the community members our parents I have come out and provided their uh support and so we are uh coming up with some of the final Parts in terms of what that's going to entail with respect committee who is it going to consist of what levels and I know uh Dr Henrik and I are going to be working uh on that in tandem on that committee and being able to provide a recommendation uh hopefully sooner than later for uh implementation as it is a mandated implementation by July 1st 2026 next slide please I also want to just you know say thank you to all of our Athletics teams I know they're fully underway I know I spent some time 2 Fridays ago at the football game and it was just really refreshing and exciting to see a whole Community come together for support of our Athletics and it's just a great environment and I know the administration at Colbert City High School has done a good job in putting a student section which I was pretty impressed with and they actually kept things going so just want to uh congratulate all of our Athletics teams that every week as they prepare for that next game I also want to inform the board about the College and Career Fair it was held that this past week and there were many colleges and universities military and also our Workforce programs were there so it was really great to have it outdoors I know that was my first time here and I was questioning why are we having it Outdoors isn't it too me or too cold and actually the sun comes down and it just creates a really nice environment and the sun is not blazing on you so it was really great to see our families their learning about the colleges and opportunities that our students have also want to highlight our back to school night at CCMS and cchs and I know this was a first for us this year having a conflict with a religious uh holiday but uh we made it work on that day and so that was 1 of the best options for for our families so I know it was hard I just want to thank our families for their patience for uh coming out those who have 2 students at each of the schools I know it was a a challenge to get from 1 School uh to the other as they were there for the Long Haul but just want to say thank you to our families for a commentating uh this day this year and also as was stated earlier in the proclamation I want to uh thank everybody for celebrating Hispanic Latino heritage month and so I look forward to some of the events that are schools are doing and the community so up for those and I also want to uh acknowledge and say you know happy Raj Hashanah and also for everybody who uh is practicing uh young Kippur in the upcoming uh week to have a meaningful uh day uh just some key points just want to remind everybody that we are on social media so please make sure you follow us for some updates as well as the updates on the measure E I know there was a common mention about the projects and the bond not starting there's a lot of work happening and so I know our website actually was checking on it today and there's a lot of updates that Miss rajie actually puts from all the presentations that we share with the board and some of the updates that we get from the construction management company updating uh the community on all the different that are happening and so the community will start seeing a lot more uh unfortunately there is a process in school construction that requires approval from the division of the state architect and that's the part that I know at times it's hard for our families and communities understand how long that takes for a projects to go through that review process but that review process is needed for the safety of our students and so we want to make sure that all of these projects are verified and approved safe by the division of State architect before we can actually get those shovels and start uh digging on the ground and so I know at our back to school night I actually had the construction management company make some uh big posters and so we had them at the entrance of The Middle on the high school so the Community was able to see those drawings of what were the projects for the middle school and high school but a complete presentation is actually on our website uh that has all of the designs so if any members of the community wants to see where we are with that please visit our web side under business services and there is a link there for measure e so you'll see all the updates to see all the construction happening or that will be starting real soon uh in our districts so with that I want to wish everybody a good evening and Sanchez and I'm new CCMS president hello everyone my name is Cruise Vegas I am CCMS new vice president so very excited to be representing CCMS for the 2025 2026 school year we have so many fun activities planned this year and 1 of our first is not the Familia on October 3rd after school 4:30 to 6:30 which you would love to invite our board to there will be lots of food like papusas tacos Judas and tons of vendors over 18 local vendors will be selling clothes jewelry and toys and much more we will also have student by performing our own CCMS band in the Live Mariachi also this month is since this month is also Hispanic Heritage Month we have an honoring it by playing music from various Hispanic artists also during lunch many Panthers have been wearing their college gear on Thursdays and their Panther gear on Friday to welcome our new superintendent Dr Jimenez ASV would like to gift him um some CCMS spirit wear last but not least we are partnering with the PTSA on disability awareness month and we will be out during lunch for a whole week doing activities and playing games during lunch we also have special processions spreading Awareness on different disabilities thank you hello um just to give an update on what the high school is up to for back to school night it went really good this year parents went through each of their students periods learning more about their teachers and school life of their students it went really good a lot of parents came and we sold lost for ASB for the club fair this Thursday during lunch clubs can add advertise for to students to join their clubs and we had a total of 97 clubs joined which is a really high number this year um and we thank the teachers uh who support the clubs for giving them support and allowing them to host the clubs in their rooms and for a program for House of reps program it's a yearly program where a representative from every second period meets every month and they discuss problems and issues people have within high school and try to come up with Solutions and we hope to elect them hopefully by the end of next week and then next the student board member at large it is 1 of the uh positions here it is a self-nominated position where students across the whole school submit an application approved by 3 teachers and 1 admin Home Room teachers will show videos that they created for their candidacy on Wednesday and Thursday election is available through QR codes or ballots in room 16 and this position was first advertised via bulletin and ASB Instagram and we plan to show their candidate videos Wednesday Thursday it will be elected by Friday and hopefully be at the next meeting next we have homecoming our theme is Mamma Mia a Seaside disco for our spirit week on Monday we plan to have a stuffed animal contest for head in the clouds where students will dress in airport or pajama fits next is beach volleyball tournament for down by the sea where students where beach outfits on Wednesday is dress like a dad day but there will be a pep assembly where students can play games and helps to increase Spirit of the school next is Super Trouper trios with a relay race and fashion where students were matching outfits with their friends and on Friday uh it's blew out where students were blue and get temporary tattoos face paint and stickers and also on Friday is going to be our tail tailgate where clubs will be selling food and we are encourage everyone to come parents students teachers and even council members um because the more money clubs can make it's the more our school environment can flourish um and then the hoco game the football game blue out there will be a halftime Parade Where homecoming Court will go around the track and wave um class council's tool will be waving to the crowd and it just helps to publicize hoco Court um and then for the actual dance it will be from 6 to 10 and contracts and payments are due October 10th thank you thank you whole agenda disappeared on my line so I forgive me there was something about um the security you guys were going to talk about later today um I'm highly disappointed that Ron levenson who has been a champion parent for security for all our campuses was not uh notified or involved in any way for for that part um I am deeply concerned that we no longer have a security Chief off sir that's disturbing um with everything going on I mean I I cannot imagine how that that came to the best decision to say the least uh there are I unfortunately don't know a lot about like this parcel tax with what's going on it is a stupid part of the city's requirements and I suggest that you get together with them in case the community version wants to go through and what the requirements are I'm disappointed that in particular Tristan couldn't get his friends to back off of some of the requirements for the money that should have just been a here you go good luck spended stupidly kind of thing um as someone who has done public records 9.5 if you guys would just be more transparent overall that would resolve a lot of it so that would be great right um and I've never been given any of the text messages and personal emails that I know exists of some people that uh were legally required to do so uh and that is pretty shameful to be honest um completely uh there was something else I apologize my the agenda just refreshed um to do that although I feel like I should get the full list like 20 minutes to say the least um um education atom something Personnel um a person that was really a security uh to go back to that so I you know will be more more focused these times uh what's going on I am really concerned that things are being missed and decisions are being made without long-term uh you know consequences being considered we have a new super intended we have a new curriculum person um hopefully they will take up some tasks including how our education is being done the excessive classroom site you know class sizes not having honors thank you things of that nature so when we're looking at enrollment reports and you guys want to maintain kids you're going to lose them when you don't do the right things so I hope we can start doing the right things thank thank you there you go thank you very much um that was the only person who had come in on time so uh that is that completes the list yeah thanks um and we will now move to members of the board okay thank you um I just wanted to start off by thanking our teachers and District staff for a strong start to the school year and a and successful back to school events I'm also really excited that our cabinet is now fully staffed with the addition of Dr Heinrich and I'm looking forward to all the great things that we're we're going to accomplish this year I also want to wish um a happy rashaana to our Jewish community and all who celebrate as well as a happy Hispanic and Latino heritage month I really appreciate a doctor Jimenez message and Culver Pride last Friday and I encourage everybody to read it if you have not already um looking forward to all these great events in the district and the city to celebrate including uh Noah Familia thank you very much for the invitation my family and I intend to be there um and the city sponsored celebration on September 27th and of course Tito's Fiesta mihika if you've not been to that I highly recommend that too um Thursday before last I attended G's celebration of Courage along with Miss odson and other community members here too and the fox lot in Century City the program was informative and inspiring and included panels discussing the work of gourds and Affiliated organizations particular really enjoyed hearing from the panel discussing Community violence intervention initiatives in Los Angeles and Kim Mata Rubio who is devoted so much to the cause after her 10 year old daughter Lexi was murdered and ivalde in 2022 um Sheriff Robert Luna also gave remarks I appreciate I explained that the proliferation of Guns is a threat to law enforcement officers in addition to the communities that protect and in his own words while the public May focus on high-profile victims of gun violence he sees it every day we can and we have to do more to decrease gun violence throughout this country the next evening after that I went to a reception for the United Friends of the children which is a really great organization that helps current and former Foster youth transition into adulthood through housing and Educational Services I was right here in Culver City at the home of 1 of their board members I really enjoyed talking with Chris Lina uh who's about to start her first year at UCLA go Bruins and wants to be a lawyer excellent career choice um the LA county has the highest number of foster youth in the country and they have so much promise and I appreciate organizations like United Friends of the children that help them a chance last Monday I attended the laksa which is the Los Angeles County School of Trustees Association happy hour along with Mr lachman and had a great time meeting and chatting with other board members from throughout LA county and I cannot wait for the next 1 and then just a kind of final I I just want to say a word about the environment that we find ourselves in right now um it seems as though this has already been the longest year with just constant stressors conspiring to keep us worried angry and Afraid and I think it's more important than ever to approach each other with open minds and Open Hearts and understand there's more that brings us together than divides us especially in this community and I appreciate the diversity of thought among us and that we live in a country that has constitutional protections for freedom of speech in the form of our first amendment and I will always support your right to speak your mind even if we don't all always agree thank you thank you very much um uh um so first of all uh LESA Tova Happy New Year to those uh in the Jewish community uh enjoyed seeing many of you at Temple at Kiba today um I don't so wanted to relay uh I'd been hearing a lot from Jewish Community parents they are and I am very appreciative of all the communication that went out um to everyone in terms of uh following up on the excused absences policy uh as well as the wonderful note from the superintendent um to the community uh and I know that uh you know there were some people and I can understand their concern in terms of the lateness of some of this uh understand that we've had some new folks coming in and people are still settling into their positions and so give us some Grace on this but I am very aware and I know everyone else is that you know this is a good instruction and we're we're we're going to do it continue to improve and what we're doing for next time uh and similarly making sure that those uh are Muslim siblings uh as well um will get this similar level of respect and support going on in the future uh to that end I had heard from a couple of parents uh there are still some teachers who are not uh quite uh and it's not some it's intense it's not intentional but they're not following the excuses absence is policy and I think it's a further sign of that we still have some tweaks we need to make to get this working uh but appreciate the great spirit particularly our partners and the teachers um who are working with us to try uh and Ray long trying to work with us to try to find an approach that brings us together this isn't about uh punishment it's about learning from each other and making space and for each other in our community um I also as I mentioned joined um uh my colleague uh board member Carlson at the laksa meeting I serve on their board uh as a director um it was wonderful to get to hear from everyone what they're going through um uh particularly um you know there's a lot of similarity we have with our board boards just to the south of us which is why we seem to be hiring so many people who come over from there maybe um um but uh it was wonderful to share our experiences and get to talk with each other and uh and what we're going true and it's a it's a fantastic experience uh as we go into the the rest of the year I do want to thank everybody who made the uh back to school nights a success uh I have heard nothing but positive things uh about all of them and from the teachers and the staff who were so welcoming um and with such great promise for this year and I know we've got some challenges ahead uh but this shows us a community we respect each other we talk with each other we find ways of working together to try to make our environment and our our system better for everybody and just want to remain appreciative of of the change in the tone the change in the approach and while we see a whirlwind going outside of us uh it seems where it never stops uh you know we're all working hard to gather to try to solve our problems and recognize that everyone has is in this community together um I'll just close by saying that Russia Shana is supposed to be about new hopes and New Beginnings uh I am just hoping this year that we can get uh you know uh and it's it's my personal prayer that we we find a way toward uh some sort of more I want to say normaly but you know hope for everyone and and love and appreciation for what makes us all special as Americans our freedom of speech for the diversity that we have the fact that we are welcoming to to new community new people in our communities it's what makes us I think special Not Just As Americans but as Culver City and I think we all have that hope together uh as we head into this new year thank you good evening everyone uh would like to welcome Dr Hinrich um also wish happy brush Shana and young for next week to to all those who celebrate um I was working last week and wasn't able to make uh the CCMS or the cchs uh back to schools but I've heard nothing but great stuff about it and we just want to thank again the teachers uh who work late that night the administrators the families who came out and particularly the students who do a lot of work that night either to uh introduce their their families to the things that go on at school um it showed them around run booths and things like that so so good events unfortunately likewise noted that I just looked it up on calendar that is another out of town work week for me um but if you've never gone it's a fantastic event um it is hosted by the middle school and a lot of the middle school students and clubs but but other folks are welcome you know high school students it's a good time uh families from the commentaries who want to check out the middle school and find out what that's about and what a wonderful place it is it's a great opportunity to come by the the middle school and just have some fun listen to music you do a lot of good food um and hear about the Student Activities uh 1 thing I did want to share all also um for work uh I was in Anaheim today at the Anaheim uh Unified School District's Community Schools learning lab um Culver City doesn't have any schools that qualify for the State Community Schools grants um but I I think there is some principles in the kind of Community Schools movement programs um that that are important for us to to know about you know lifting up student voice and including that more in decision-making finding ways to include parents more in the decision-making um and we do have good parent uh representation and good parent participation um that's something that I think all of those of us who went to the back to school night saw um but really trying to reach out particularly to those voices that are not typically represented you know the folks that are working during events the folks that may not have the experience with getting on District leadership committee so that they can help out and things like that so really good uh really good program I'll be back there tomorrow um and I'm taking lots of notes and writing down things and again even though we don't qualify for the state grants for Community Schools there are definitely some ideas that we can uh borrow uh and and consider implementing we had talked about doing apparent liaison a couple years ago in the cap unfortunately the budget didn't allow that to happen um but again that idea of of really having Point folks and and folks who make that commitment and it's part of their job it's part of everybody's job ultimately but to really be reaching out to those parents who we don't see on day-to-day uh basis and making sure those voices and those those perspectives are considered in so just wanted to share that with folks thank you very much thanks colleagues um I want to join everyone and intuition everyone a Happy Rocha Hispanic Heritage Month I joined the superintendent and have the opportunity to go to both the high school and the middle school back to school nights um last week which had an amazing turnout was really really well organised and so just again echoing my car colleagues a big thank you to staff and everyone who worked hard to make those evenings special success I went in a little um I'm not really seeing the the the the the the plan with having them staggered but it but it really actually made a lot of sense and it was really seamless for the superintendent and I to go from the Middle School to high school and so I imagine for parents of both middle schoolers and high schoolers it um hopefully was was a seamless um a few weekends ago 2 weeks ago I also had the honor of going to the Latino School Board Association and unity conference not paid for by the district um I went for work but again it's absorbing all that knowledge to apply um here in the work we do in Koh Unified School District um there were leaders across the state who came together to discuss how we as a community can unify on these critical moments and we talked about um responsibility we all share as Educators and school board members um as people within the private sector uh to ensure every student regardless of their background and language or circumstance has access to excellent medical education so with that being said uh I think we're going to take a quick recess um and we'll see you back recording stopped recording in progress all right we are back from our recess on to information it um it's 9.2 enrollment report good evening post board president Mr board members superintendent Dr Ms um tonight I'll provide an update on our month 1 indoor for 2526 I did a quick cohort analysis to understand where there is any demographic change or any random change that happened uh from last year's enrollment to this year's enrollment so I just want to know I just want to share a cohort analysis means tracking the same group of students as they move up through the grades for example last year's kindergarten become this year's first grade and if that kindergarten was smaller then we will also see a smaller first grade and it goes on so overall enrollment our total enrollment is TK to 12 enrollment is 6,524 students we just down by 31 students um compared to our projection of 6555 um but if you really see last time we had a 151 students drop last year it was significant decrease and the biggest shifts actually in Elementary grades or where smaller cohorts are moving from prior year so transitional kindergarten has grown steadily it was 136 and 23 24 205 last year and now it's 2180 in 2526 so this growth builds a stronger pipeline of students entering kindergarten so kindergarten itself drops sharply from 454 2 years ago to 36675 last year but then we are picking up it's a rebounding slightly to 385 this year so I'm sharing all of this data only to show um the Great 2 to 5 are actually generally stable the first grade is where we see the largest decline um from 20 to 24 to now from 475 to 385 this is not an enrollment loss but the result of those smaller kindergarten cohorts progressing upward and that's a trend that we see actually but we are actually um when you look at the secondary Trends middle and high school enrollment has remained consistent across these 3 years from 2425 2024 2425 and 2526 1 students enter our secondary schools retention is strong that's what the data is telling us and we see very little moment out so in some way we are at a modest decline this year the smaller first grade classes this is directly tied to the smaller kindergarten cohort from the earlier years no sudden losses the strong growth in TK is a positive sign and should help us rebuild some larger cohorts in the lower grades moving forward the second year don't contain continuous To Be steady and which is actually an encouraging sign of student retention once families are with us and that's our enrollment report colleagues to questions on that yeah um I just had some comments and thank you for that presentation and I I actually kind of sat down with um this enrollment report as well as the month 1 from uh the prior year and the year before that and the year before that because I was very interested to to see what the the trends were and I think um a lot of what you're saying really lined up with um what I saw too and I think you know our enrollment is looking really really good this year and I think that's really a credit to everybody here um everybody knows that the whole state of California is experiencing a trend in declining enrollment that's that's the board it's like not just our district right um there's a lot of reasons for that um you know certainly 1 of the major ones is the uh birth rates that are continuing to decline you know my core cohort of sort of Exiles like tail end of Gen X and then the Millennials right behind me are having children later in life um and having fewer children than those who came before us and so we could you know we could have a long conversation about why that is but that's a conversation for another time and not here but either way it's definitely impacting our schools um and we learned earlier in the year too uh from the demographic report that I believe was done back in April or so I think presented at that time that we've had issues with respect to kindergarten capture here um it's been relatively low compared to some other places I'm certainly you know interested in in seeing what other factors might might be influencing our enrollment um and I I did want to look at these reports um for recent years because I think they tell a really interesting story right um you know certainly there's the overall enrollment right that's been going down a bit um we you know it's been somewhat balanced out by expanded TK right and you can see that from year to year and I think that the secondary level is the 1 that's like super interesting to me um so including I Academy we had 3740 students in 2223 and then 36.84 and 2324 so it was about down about 5 6 uh and and you mentioned that you know there was 151 that declined overall between 3 and 24 and 2425 but if you sort of look at the secondary level uh in 2324 again 3684 students and 23 24 3560 and 2425 so that's down about 124 students between 23 24 and 425 and then if you look at this year's report you can see that we have um including I Academy 3,547 students compared to 3560 last year so it really looks like we've only lost 13 students at the secondary level this year compared to 124 the year before that it's almost 10 times as many students that we lost in the prior year compared to this year and and frankly I don't even know if that meets up with the sort of natural demographic decline right because it's it's such a small number and it's almost statistically insignificant um just you know it's a social scientists were taught to analyze Trends and can typically hypothesized as to the cause of a trend looking at changes in conditions um you know in various factors enrollment is kind of a trailing indicator I think in that it's a lagging reaction to something that's already incurred right I I think we really can't seriously debate at this point there's a substantial decline in enrollment in CCSD in 23 and 24 those school years that started those years especially at the secondary level and and that was probably in part due to the perception in the community that the district was in a state of chaos this year the decline has been insignificant if at all right so I think and again I think we might even be performing above demographic Trends so I think that really indicates that inuence have shifted and the community has a lot more confidence in us and I just really want to thank um you miss Rajiv Dr Gooden um for your hard work in writing this ship and of course um under the stable and steady leadership of Dr Lucas last year who I think made a couple of the best decisions couldn't hiring both of you um and of course Dr menes for hitting the ground running this year and you know Dr Heinrich you're still new but I can't wait to see your contributions to the district as well and I really hope that we're sitting here next year seeing even better numbers than we're seeing right now so thank you very much much again for all that work thank you um just do 2 related questions just as I'm reading these numbers I think uh board member Carlson Has Broken this down wonderfully and appreciate um that with respect to the adult school um I know there are additional programs that we do through the adult school that are not GED or English language programs is that what the basic adult education is like the uh I think we're doing a um like a a physician's assistant style uh program and that sort of stuff is that what that does that fall under that or what number does it where does that number fall I think sorry the number that you see here is the entire um student population they have under adult school and I think the basic education I don't know whether the medical program is incorrect here whether it ended last year it's continuing this year I don't know okay but this is the total number but definitely we'll check and then come back to you sure it's just it's another great service that we do as a community and um you know very excited just to to see that there I also see that the um the I I can't remember where the I Academy numbers you know which was something we came in during the pandemic but I imagine we may see those numbers continue to dwindle as a lot of this was sort of a a good amount of it may be response to um you know what was happening during the pandemic um the this is just something maybe we can look at into the future uh but it's a question that we get a lot and I apologize for not putting in these things in advance I promise no bombs and in in any of this but I know we've talked before about understanding between between the fifth grade and the sixth grade the eighth grade and the 12th grade how you know what how many students do we lose on average of students that live in the community um uh and it would be interesting to note and if we have that to build on what uh you know member Carlson was saying about understanding our numbers uh better it would be interesting to know why those students who go choose to do so um as you said we're we're definitely on a better track I think there's not that feeling of chaos and people are are are excited and even with the the budget cuts I know I spoke um at the covert Dems United and there was a lot of questions about the enrollment and these numbers that I was uh talking about here but I I think it would be helpful just to understand sort of where are some of our blind spots in terms of retaining the people who are here um and um you know and and ensuring that they continue to take part in the district we started the cohort me to do deep Dives to understand the data and do some exit interviews and all of that so we know where our students are going thank you again appreciate everything here with these great numbers and the good news I think reflects on the great work that uh everyone here is doing do you have a comment okay cool um 9.3 semi annual report so we have Dr Black chair of the citizens Bond oversight committee is here to present the semi annual report of the committee before we hand it over I want to thank Dr plaque for her leadership and thank every Committee Member for the incredible work in ensuring transparency and making sure our all the projects are aligned with the water approved ballot measure and the floor is yours Dr thank you good evening Lashana to um president Isadora Board of Education members superintendent other staff and community members who may be online thank you for this opportunity to deliver the first semiannual report of the citizens Bond oversight committee for measure e the school construction Bond passed in March of 2024 my name is Gene black and I was elected chair of the sebek at its first meeting in November 2024 as you know in 2000 California voters approved prop 30 9 which allows school districts to pass school facility bonds with 55% approval rather than the usual 2/3 provided that they establish a citizen Bond oversight committee the purpose of the cbok is to assure the community that the bond funds are being expended according to the use of stated in the bond resolution and that no bond funds are used for salaries or other school operating expenses as much as we might wish they could be uh it's important to note that that the sebek cannot direct how Bond proceeds are spent or established spending priorities by Statute the sebek is required to have 7 members representing different constituencies to meet just once a year and to produce an annual report the committee members are not compensated but the meetings are subject to the brown Act as you know there had been Community concern in Culver City about a lack of transparency regarding the expenditures under the earlier bond issue measure CC which was passed in June 2014 as a result the Board of Education increased the measure ECB to 14 members required 4 meetings a year and twice yearly reports the sebek has now met 4 times at the first meeting in November 2024 Mr Raj shankha was elected vice chair and members were randomly assigned to 1 year or 2-year terms I'm the senior citizen representative and other members represent parents with children at the very schools someone active in a parent teacher organization the business Community the Culver City Education Foundation and other community members this first semiannual report that you have in your packet covers the period through our third meeting which was on June 4th 2024 then at our August meeting we reviewed and approved this report as you know you're fortunate to have an incredible assistant superintendent for business services Miss Rajiv has made our job easy for us presenting all the construction expenditures in detail and by School site as of the June meeting the sebek had reviewed the expenditures through March 31st 2025 and we believe the district is in compliance with the legal requirements by the time of our next report we will also have reviewed the independent audit for the period July 2024 through June 2025 which the district expects to receive in December so as you can see the board has already received more information more recent information from assistant superintendent rajie in fact the primary audience for this report is the community not the Board of Education the benefit of the expanded cbok is that a greater number of constituents have the opportunity to become informed about the status of the school construction projects and the associated expenditures and they can go out and communicate about it to others we're also asking Dr Jimenez to mention the report and the cbok web page in the Culver Pride newsletter and we'll be sending brief press releases to the local news organizations to inform people like myself who don't have children currently in the district we encourage members of the public to take note of the URL of the sebek web page which you can see on page 3 of the report this page pulls together in 1 place not only the sebek roster and the minutes but also the facility updates for each school and the financial reports I'd like to also encourage anyone listening who's interested in serving on this committee to please apply because some members terms are ending in November it's just an hour and 15 minutes that's 4 times a year and it's a great way to learn about what goes into school construction and how the bond proceeds are being spent thank you again and I'm available to answer any questions thank you for your presentation colleagues do we have any questions um sure more a comment I think than a question um I was part of the bond uh feasibility committee by the way thank you for giving this report I definitely appreciate you coming and sitting through this meeting and waiting your turn here to um to get give the the report to us and it's very exciting to hear this um I believe for the first time um but you know like I mentioned you know when we were when the community was kind of considering putting a bond on the ballot and this kind of started and I I remember talking to Mike Reynolds at the the um CC uh EF event over at the Venda um back in early October and I think the whole committee was put together maybe around like mid November or something um and considering putting a bond on the ballot for March or November of that year and I remember sitting in that committee along with Mr long and Miss hammy and uh the sea back um not Bock like a chicken but um the you know the budget advisory committee right um a chair there and there there was a lot of conversation among all of us regarding kind of the state of the District in the chaos that a lot of us perceived existed um particularly with the board at the time and I I I do seem to recall that the initial proposal was not necessarily to have this expanded committee um but rather to do that in order to provide additional oversight and have different members from the community I mean I think you're only required to have 5 or something right but 7 I'm sorry uh but now you know there are 14 and there's you know representatives of basically every Community around Culver City which is really wonderful and I'm glad that there's all these voices at the table but I just wanted to kind of be a little clear more clear on that history and you know the other the other thing that came out of those conversations too with these um advisory committees on the front end um that have been sort of working with uh Miss Rajiv um and The Architects and whatnot and providing feedback and you know sort of information regarding each site uh that you know consists of parents as well as um teachers and staff uh that I think have really led to thoughtful planning and there was a you know Dr Minas commented earlier too and I think maybe just received as well about the the process of kind of you know making sure that you know these the the plans are being approved by the State Board of Standards or whatever the sort of bureaucratic agency is and so we haven't actually gotten to construction just yet but I know there's a lot of really good plans in the works um so I think you know I'm really looking forward to seeing once we actually begin construction on these items you know what sort of is going to come out of that and and sort of the additional information that you all are going to be able to provide to us as we actually get into the construction phase um I guess just this as far as like questions if there's any other information that may not have been in the report itself for things that you might want us to know um I I would be interested in hearing that but um your report was pretty thorough so definitely appreciate that thank you well if you refer back to the bylaws for the sebek the charge to this particular committee is very very narrow right and so I think perhaps not everyone understood that when they joined the committee um I appreciate the fact that we do get a very thorough report and in fact we're updated Beyond probably what our legal charge is um but um that's why I think the web page is a valuable resource for community members because they can find the you know facility updates as well as the financial so um I think we always there were more resources so that we could do more Communications to the community at large and I've thought about whether there was some way in which we could work to together to do that but um but in terms of the strict um charge to the committee it really is limited to determining uh that the expenditures are related to the bond language and not spent for salaries or operating expenses right definitely appreciate that thank you but and I appreciate your comments and the context I too appreciate this uh I was supposed to be on that committee until I found another calling recently um um so just appreciate the the work on this and I think for those who out there in the public to understand these advisory committees by law as I understand it have to have a very narrow focus at least that's been the standard practice which is just to focus on is the money being spent within the bounds of what's required you know by the Lang the the forage is 4 corners of of the bond that was past and and that's it so for those who may in the public who may have a different expectation or wondering why it's being done this way it's this is the standard of how it's done across the board by and large but it's it's appreciated the the the depth of what you're of of of detail on this and um that your volunteering to do this as well with everyone has limited spare time so thank you for your your service and that of the board as well well gee you know when I went to high school in the 1960 is it wasn't anywhere near as interesting or as fun as I heard about tonight so uh it's a pleasure to be able to uh be part of this community thank you I'd just like to add my my appreciation for you your leadership on this and for the entire committee um as board member Carlson kind of mentioned 14 is a lot um you know and that was very intentional when this committee was put together um there was a lot of concerns that it was going to be unwieldy and I've never attended 1 of your meetings it may be a little unwieldy um but looking at the list both of of just the positions that folks represent and the folks who are filling it it's about the cross-sectional thing of Culver City that you can imagine uh we've got just about every perspective and every every kind of constituency represented on there um so I'm I'm very pleased that that's that's working that's not typical um and we had a lot of people say why would you do that or or that's you know you don't have to do that just go with 7 and things um but I'm I'm quite pleased that that's working out well um and again just appreciate the the hour and hour and a half 4 times a year that everybody does and if if some folks are cycling off in November we definitely have to get the kind of postings for those um and just an extra appreciation for those folks who may choose to do their year and step away um thank you to them for for having done this and thank you to those of you who are continuing I have no questions just thank you thank you uh 9.4 discussion of partial tax options and timeline good evening board president Isadora members of the board uh so for tonight we actually uh have a presentation we'd like to uh present to the board for a initial discussion for a potential parcel tax and so miss Rajiv and I want to put some uh things on your radar whether we move forward with a parcel tax for a November um election or for a June election so by having this we just want to start the conversation I know there was some comments made uh today by Association regarding the importance of our employees and be able to retain and attract employees that's that's a given so uh we'll make sure we include that in any future uh presentation so for tonight we'd like to uh explore this option with the board and hopefully get some kind of a Direction so I'm going to hand this over to miss Richie thank you thank you Dr Prime minus so why do we need another partial tax that our current revenues are not keeping up with the with the rising cost whether that's employee benefits materials supplies or services that are students need it just in in exponentially increasing but not at the same rate as a revenue so partial tax might allow us to continue the programs or support staff and Community Values could be Arts music stem enrichment safety and student support so without additional funding we will be forced to make deeper cuts to staff and classrooms which we know has a direct impact on students even if if it is away from the classrooms importantly partial taxes are stable local funds that stay here in Culver City and cannot be taken by the state this measure will build on the success of measure oh like Mr long shared it was 1 of the highest percentage of approval that we had uh in the state of California so which voters renewed in November 2024 and would help sustain excellence in our schools uh next slide please so what would the planning process look like if you know board were to pursue a new measure so in this actually we just um there's a lot more than what this planning is it it starts from testing stage a wetting stage and then a building stage and then the winning stage so there are different um strategies that we have to deploy to move this through so the first step is identifying our needs and deciding on a potential tax structure whether we want to increase a flat rate or do you want to increase based on a square footage so we need to actually do some analysis and study on that we also have to conduct some auror surveys to measure the community support and also get feedback from the community and our staff and everyone to refine the proposal if the more board moves forward the next step is preparing the ballot documentation and adopting at a formal a formal resolution at least 88 days before the election throughout this process communication is strictly informational sharing fact sheets mailers and presentations so that the public understands what the measure would do community volunteers may also step into support Outreach but the district's role is transparency and compliance making sure voters have accurate information next slide please so when to place the measure on the ballot so the board has 2 choices in the calendar year of 2026 June 2nd 2026 during the primary or November 3rd 2026 during the gender election at June election typically has lower voter turnout and fewer competing measures but the planning timeline would be compressed and election cost are significantly higher to the tune of 150,000 dollars which is 10 times more than your general election cost on the other hand November election allows more time to engage with the community and costs are much lower um the last year for November 2024 we spent 15,000 so however the number ballot will also include many other measures which can actually create competition for older attention that's a drawback there but each option has its own trade-offs in terms of cost timeline unlikelihood of success so this concludes or presentation or again our intent is to not to recommend a decision but to provide a clear understanding of the process cost and timelines and I'm happy to answer any questions you have thank you for presentation colleagues do we have any questions I do yeah um yes questions and comments um you know I think 1 of the things that uh has been a real educational experience for me since joining this board is all of the various costs that um hit the district and many of them that we can't even the control we've talked you know in the context of budgets in the past you know additional liability insurance you know other other sorts of things that have uh put pressure on us and they think um you shared with us uh and I think it's okay to say this but like that's SoCal Edison is increasing their their for their electricity by 12% um this year so uh to my understanding that's another 250,000 um we have to pay for electricity that we need to come up with from somewhere um you know and it's got to come out of our budget so we we keep having all these sort of additional costs and we're not getting even in real dollars from the state or federal government the same that we've gotten in the past and so that's that's putting such pressure on the district um and really causing us to have to cut and and cut into services that are um you know are staff value our Community Values um our kids value and our families um so I really appreciate this conversation about the partial tax and I think we're all pretty much on board with that um you know just sort of reading between the lines here it seems that you're he walks sort of recommending November as opposed to June um and I think uh you know this has come up in some other context but if you could just explain whether there's any benefit to District finances in putting a partial tax on the ballot in June versus November of 2026 but for example will see the funding any earlier than that would be able to adjust the budget any earlier um if so like what would be the impact of us being able to do that if we if there's any benefit at all really to putting on the ballot in June so there is a strict timeline in terms of um the tax rules so once it is let's say that assume that it passes in June within certain line certain time limit the the the they have to certify and then send it to the county so that window of time is really really narrow it might make it if it makes it then be there is a probability of getting it in 2627 but the probability the higher probability is on 2728 because of that narrow window of timeline by when if the county doesn't get and they cannot assess the tax included in the tax roles for the 262 7 I think that's the only reason they have to have it by August beginning of August and the results would not be if the results cannot be certified by the timeline the window then it will make it only to the 2728 um the collection will only we will get that Revenue starting from 2728 okay all right I mean all things being equal it seems like there's there's a lot of risk to putting on the ballot in June and not a whole lot of reward um you know and the reward probability is extremely low uh so you know we we heard from 1 commenter tonight about the potential citizens initiative parcel tax in 2026 I'm aware of another group of parents that's actually working on this as well um I I believe there are different group of folks than those that Miss Mara holes was mentioning um I know this because I've been answering some question questions for them on budget issues and and have been for the last few months or so um several of them were involved in the effort to advocate for funding from the city as well over the summer um a little more on like these sort of 2 groups together but it does seem like there's a lot of um interests in the community in having a potential citizens initiative and obviously that's not something that we decide and we can't really be involved in that um I I would expect that we would get advice from Council regarding the extent to which we could be involved and you know we'd all try to be as compliant as possible with the law and not you know step over that boundary um my understanding is that it's kind of the primary benefit of a Citizens initiative is a lower threshold to pass it so like a simple majority 50% plus 1 as opposed to the 2/3 the 66% plus 1 right um is that also your understanding in that regard yes it is actually simple majority and then they also have to get 5% of the population the voter signature has to be first they have to do that part first to make it to the ballot and then the city I think would place it on the ballot and then it's a simple majority of 50 plus 1 you're right all right fantastic um and there won't be any additional cost to the district oh that's interesting okay yes if it is June it is 150k and that's actually a really interesting uh tidbit to know I did not know that prior to this and there's also cost to have um your um consultant who's actually doing all this work that's another cost that we have not discussed so definitely citizen initiative is you know I'm I'm literally in awe the community members came and shared that news with us and it's it's really a great thing yeah um and like I said I think there's a couple of groups and so like just regarding that kind of Point um 2 groups working in parallel discussing a partial tax you know this this is obviously not something that board members can lead on in any way but I just want to express my thoughts about that and generally that it would be great if these groups could combine themselves and work together on this uh you know we really I think we all kind of need to put our egos aside here and you know make sure that you know we get this done uh it's far more important than claiming credit for getting it done uh just want to make sure that we're keeping the conversation student centered and not sort of self-centered in this regard I don't you know not casting any dispersions on anybody who's been involved to date but um you know if you're out there listening uh parent groups please talk to each other and see if you can work together because I think it would be really a wonderful thing to see in this community you know similar to the way that Mr long talked about all groups coming together to support measure oh last fall and you know passing that with well over 80% of the vote um you know I think we could potentially do something like that again if if folks would you know work together on this so thank you very much for the presentation I appreciate it thank you yes and similar I I don't think that I I wasn't aware of this other group today uh I was aware of only yeah and this is only because they were up here today um this 1 group so I don't think either group is doing it was doing it as a matter of ego I think there's sometimes the right hand and the left hand um or you know people just may not be aware and and this kind of um raising awareness will help I think hopefully bring people together uh and make sure because it's certainly and as I understand this and just to confirm this if there's a citizen initiative then it only takes a 50% vote if we put it on because it's a special use tax it would require a 66% vote is that correct what was it 67% 67% okay so you know 50% this is a lot easier to get and obviously it's great to see that the community wants to come together and um of their own initiative um uh you know put something together to make sure that we're funding our schools and providing these Alternatives um along on the lines with the proposal that you gave um and this is just a theoretical because I've only mostly seen taxes that sort of stand still or they get set every time they get renewed is it theoretically possible in language to have the tax amount vary with inflation over time it could be a flat amount right now we are at 118 per parcel so that we can increase that and um otherwise other option is to do a um by square footage they can also charge so there are 2 ways to um place this partial taxes but the amount but the amount can if there's a CPI index that it can be tied to to say again this is theoretical but but if if it can be tied to a CPI index to say well if the CPI goes up by 3% then this amount can get adjusted by 3% so you're not frozen in time you know particularly the last couple of years we've seen inflation eat a lot out of what we're doing and then on the other side you know there's even a possible threat of I hope not stagflation but you know that there's always that looming threat out there that giving us the flexibility to be able to adjust to the reality as opposed to um and having the voters Empower us to do so uh as opposed to having to go back constantly it's just an interesting question of whether we could do something like that I think we have to go back every time you want to change the amount you have to go back to the orders that we can confirm that that would be great but obviously you know we we operate within the constraints of what the law is so I took on that and I come back thank you also for this um yeah I think for me the big question I mean as to when um I I like everybody else I've heard I I tend to lean toward the uh the November election just because of cost um and I like a larger turnout would would probably benefit us but I'm I'm not you know set in stone on that if we did some polling and found out that people were much more likely to do it earlier than I'd be fine with that um but it's it's the way we would potentially structure something like this would it be you know a a measure K plus where we would take the 189 that we have and just say you know folks we want to raise it to 289 or 389 or something like that and just just change the amount and nothing else about it or would we want to do something completely different where the other 1 was based strictly on Parcels but as you mentioned do something on square footage um and I think that's something that we have to kind of look at both options kind of play both of them out or or as many different options as we can thank um I know we part of the strategy in the with both measure e and measure K was doing some polling about you know how would you feel about this number how would you feel about that number and trying to see where where the community support um how strong it was and and where it started to flag once we got to certain numbers so I imagine we'll we'll do that um it seems to me that if you did it by square footage um it includes commercial properties or is it only residential it includes commercial properties and they would actually pay more than the residential owner so that's why we need to look at the calculation of you know how to benefit more and then not to put it on a residential and you know push it to commercial but we have to be careful and and we have to also now start to engage with commercial uh owners here because then you know we don't want them leaving the city so we want to be sure that we know we consult and then we do a survey with them to and engage in conversation how supportive they are so there's a lot more work when we want to change the the way we want to charge but I think yes definitely we need to do um complete study we would have a it's called um um Financial engineer so we need to have a financial engineer who looks at all these data from the LA County assessor's office and then they would give us a recommendation so we need to have the data first and then before we come back and share the recommendation okay the other 1 too just to remind the public like um and correct me if I'm wrong but with a partial text but not with the bond but with a partial tax folks do have the elderly folks on fixed incomes do have the ability to opt out of that and that's you know something as we talk about another or or a modified parcel tax um there's still that option to for for folks on the fixed income to to opt out on this yes okay thank you yeah that's all my questions for now uh yeah thank you for the presentation um I will agree with my colleagues about thinking November election is so it sounds like we have a majority for November at least um I'm I I made never been maybe what I'm hearing about the difference between um it being a board you know appointed um a ballot or a Citizens LED tax uh I know that you hinted briefly about all the cost that we'd have to incur I don't remember off the top of my head what the cost was um when we did this last year if you if you have the figure up the top of your head so I think we spent last year um I actually looked at the numbers but I'm just blanking out now but definitely it is 152 200k um on the survey and then we had uh the mailers and you know we we had to do um the there was a lot of different other Consultants we had to use also this is on top of the the County fees yeah so which is which was 15,000 because it was November yeah uh so thank you um and I think that that piece is super important to me because while um our budget and and us talking about dollars is super important it also passing and winning is very important to me as well and so I think it's a yes and when we talk about how much it truly poll um and how expensive it is to run elections in Culver City I know it's a small City but it's very expensive as we all uniquely know um to run um elections especially in what we know was going to be a a pretty contentious I think election cycle and so how we can make sure that the district is um ensuring that the project passes is super important so um as aspiring it is for me to hear that the community sees the need of the district has and is willing to get involved so intimately and make sure that happens is great um I know what Culver City Unified has done is tested and proven and I I would like I personally would like to see us have a board lad um partial tax initiative um not only do I have questions about um all that it would take for it to even be placed on the ballot by um citizens and and not saying can't happen um but we've seen very well-funded campaigns in Culver City um that have citizen-led Bal initiative that did not qualify for the ballot um and so for me uh it is being fiscally responsible to also talk about what the likelihood of passing it would be and it is my belief that um a a community would would overwhelmingly pass this citizens you know appointed or or or or or board but I I know that the district's process um assess and and I would like to see that and so uh I don't know that we need to decide this right now I think it's an information item I I mean I would love to see a a cost a cost analysis maybe the maybe the board would benefit from that I'm not sure colleagues do you mind yeah I mean that sounds good to me yeah um so to me that sounds like a natural except I don't know if you needed us to decide right now thank you for president zador for this evening we just needed to get an idea if there was any consensus around the election time once we know that and it appears that the November seems to be where the consensus is at We would actually come back at a future board meeting to bring an actual uh further presentation that gives a lot more detail today was just an overview but also with uh the consultant information and possibility of a contract with the explanation of all the costs associated with it okay sounds good so it sounds like we're all leading towards November and then we'll look to that uh presentation at a later date cool okay 9. 5 thank you board president so for this particular item access to District records there's some language that uh be and added also the copying of public records have been moved to the are it clarifies public versus confidential records as well and there's also some updates to some laws that have passed ab7 1085 and SP 1034 and then and there's some uh executed contracts that are now considered uh public and so those are some updated language and 9.5 BP and ar-13 40 yeah are all the sorry are all of these just the gamma updates all the information the ones for the gamut updates are 9.7 9.8 and 9.9 okay if you'd like me just to talk about 9.6 as you consider them the 9.61 is uh some clarifying uh language with respect to uh discrimination which includes multiple protected classes and also the ab 3074 which prohibits the rug Native Americans uh terms being used without tribal consent so that's 9.6 and all the others are more of the csba language updates we do have a comment on 9.6 but I don't know how you want to handle it 2 colleagues any other comments on any of the other yeah I think it's just over to you know okay yeah so you can give your name white so we can sew 9.6 it's actually really good policy and I like the changes except and I sent this 1 to you Dr Jimenez on the second page it says derogatory Native American terms including and then it lists a whole bunch of derogatory Native American terms um shall not be used in any of these and I can imagine doing that about anybody else we won't say bad things about asian-americans like blank blank blank and blank I don't know the examples are necessary um and it just tends to kind of lift up the stuff that we don't want to lift up I did check the end code and the end code doesn't include the examples in it um that I could see um and so I'd like us to consider just you know the the same paragraph but derogatory terms for Native Americans shall not be used and and drop the examples if if I may actually the I looked up the app code did you okay and it's actually right in the Ed code itself is it yes can you do you have the Ed code there yes I do can you get because it's I'm looking at uh 221.3 that's so 22 1.3 I'm reading right from the code it says for the purposes of this section D derogatory Native American oh my God but it's all in there it is um I still don't know that it adds anything and I'd like us to consider not but well can we change what the heck I don't think we can change 1 I I would slide on the caution since it's a direct Citation for Med code it's easier for us to enforce if it's a direct citation to the educational law so I would recommend keeping it there just because it's written directly from the educational code yeah I think we should follow Eda so that would be like super ideal what does it mean we won't follow end quote it just means we're not quoting end quote in in its entirety in it I share your concern but I think I'm persuaded by Dr Jimenez yeah um I'd like to if I is it possible at this time to I believe with each reading we have to make a motion to adopt the information but these are are these are information only this is information okay I I was just going to move them all to move the agenda but fair enough I mean I yeah I I get it it's it's it it's just really poorly written yeah Rebecca I was just gonna add I'm not I don't recall all the names that were in the list but some of them may be relations to sports because I know they've done that in professional sports where they wanted to get rid of some you know derogatory what they felt derogatory names in relation to Native Americans that like sports teams could be and I could see why Ed code might you know like the state level they might have to do that we don't have anybody with these names so it's not like we have to say we're not going to do this anymore um but fair enough but if feel better with excitement and its entirety that was not the information items right okay cool action items 12.1 at services so 12.1 is to update a infrastructure at Culver Park and it has to do with the installation of a single mode fiber optic cable that is over 30 years old and it's causing some issues says it's not operating or functioning appropriately anymore so you can see the scope of work um within the memo and um and what is being quoted but the manufacturer lead time would be 10 to 12 weeks of per purchase to be able to implement this and get the the new fiber optic cable up up and going until that is that's the that's the ask yeah thank you can I get a motion is there a second second seconded um discussion colleagues um all those in favor say I I 131 so this revised certification of signature is being submitted for approval as we including our new assistant superintendent application Dr Hindi is being added to the certification of signature that's why we are bringing this back to online system that we use to hold all of our employee records and do all of our um employee onboarding new new employee onboarding is there a motion I'll move it second discussion all those in favor say I I 142 thank you 14.2 is for our diverse education leadership pipeline initiative through Leo um this is a grant that the district has been participating in last year was the first year and it allows a um an employee to part ate for free in the um the Leo administrative uh cohort um this year there we get 1 C in the program it's the exact same program that was approved last year and again move it second second discussion please all right so this is the climate survey um and I don't have any problem with the the mou and and we've done it and and the healthy kids survey is actually a really good survey um my question or just something I'd like for us to think about in the future uh please going forward and you know what impact would be currently my understanding is we Give It 2 students in 5th 7th 9th and 11th last year um I was 1 of the board members on the elcap committee and I have been for a couple years because it's given every other year um and I know the requirement from the state is that it has to be given once per span or something like that so it's fine to give it once in elementary once in middle but kind of to to miss rajiv's point before about being able to do cohort analysis because you're not giving it to kids every year it makes it really hard to track the data because sometimes you'll see how a group of kids responds in fifth grade and then you won't even hear from that group of kids for a couple years until middle school and then you never hear from them again in middle school until High School um and so again I'm totally fine with the contract as is but I'd like us to think about potentially giving it more uh frequently whether it's you know twice in middle school and twice in elementary or or every year something like that just some type of a model where we're getting more data so we can check these kids who kind of reported a certain situation in Middle School well how do they feel the second year in middle school has their attitude changed or is it still stable and with the current assessment schedule on this or or um climate survey um schedule on this we really we only get a single shot at each grade span to be able to judge that so just something I'd like us to think about for for the future and and as we is there any discussion on that no no cool all those in favor say I I I all right board Business board corner uh maybe our new student board reps we can include food and board corner I think there was a request to include cbok I don't know if that goes in board corner or somewhere else was that included I don't let's see if I concluded and yes I did include it in my message yeah okay so that last week but we will include it again this year this week as well and then just to uh clarify um Jeff is doing a story on the student board rep that was here Jordan oh nice he's gonna Spotlight him in weeks but we'll also add the additional student board members too and did we clarify that the information about gun safety did already go out the information on gun safety would have been in the handbook typically that's where most districts uh Habit uh the email that our community member uh sent uh I did respond but I believe her inbox was was full but yeah that's always good practice so we can always send that out as well okay she indicated there was some sort of community she just sent out an a clarification that she thought she seen someone obviously if it hasn't been done it's going to be a wonderful thing to do but yep I think that that was true at least okay uh features that items you sure um so 1 I know we're I know we're continuing to discuss the updates of the excused absences policy um similarly um at some point uh a discussion about updating our bylaws for cbac uh there's a lot in there we don't do um uh that you know or at least that uh it may not be clear that we're doing it and so you know perhaps updating that and it might be a good time at that point perhaps to add someone from the city as well for which 1 that would be for a future agenda item yeah are you talking yeah so I think it's got yeah it's coming I think we're just I want to make sure I was understanding what you were saying sorry I didn't have my hearing in terms of updating our our the bylaws for for for for the uh budget advisory committee um I think we're going to wait to received so I think you're I think you're talking about money from the city and I'm know there's we we have a set of of bylaws currently for the for cbok it was done in 2018 there's a lot of things in there that are processes that haven't been that haven't necessarily been followed and it also may be a good time to update some of the so maybe we don't do it by this meeting but at least we can start the process of reviewing with those bylaws are and getting them to reflect the actual practices of what we do as well as possibly adding at least 1 new member right yeah I think I think former lachman I think if if you don't mind um I think with the board President's trying to say is that it might be a little bit premature to do that that's why I'm saying we can start the process if we can't do it now at least wanted to get it on the radar yes okay okay yeah okay yes it's on our radar thank you all right cool anyway I mean I you know I renewed my request for looking at the gift policy again I know that's been something that's been coming up but I I mean there's so many things that we're doing all the time so I understand I can be patient but yeah yeah okay a German so moved with her Mr
