and tan and so um Leon if you want to go first and I will hold these up as you're speaking good evening many family friends and strangers have always told me that my son with special needs is so lucky to have me as his mother but truth be told I am the lucky 1 to have him as my son through him I learned what it is to be courageous I also learned that my voice matters while he was working on finding his voice I want to take the time on behalf of my son to thank ccusd for the partnership and collaboration for his success story at CCMS this year first I would like to give a huge shout out to miss matis and our amazing assistant principal my husband and I truly appreciate her love and dedication and making sure that our sons needs a met and that he continues to be to succeed at school next I would like to thank Mr matushevski who is my son's case carrier and science teacher he always goes above and beyond and his big big heart truly made my son feel seen heard and safe I will also like to to thank my son's entire sixth grade team his teachers Mrs Allen Miss Krueger Mr Perez Mr Richardson coach Lopez Mr Castillo Mrs mlin and Miss Wilkie and his 1-on-1 Aid Miss Denise for their patience kindness and dedication my son is continuing to soar because of your partnership our district is blessed to have such an amazing group of teachers and staff working with the students last week I sent an email to the board and our superintendent I highly encourage you to go back to read my email in case if if you haven't done so I would like to commend Dr Baines our special education director for his prompt proactive approach in addressing a concerning issue we had pertaining to my son finally to the happiest superintendent CC USA has ever obtained I wish that this happy man would respond to parents concerns and emails as much as the smiles that he flashes every time he is in public superintendent humanas since I have yet to hear back from you I figured coming to you in person at a board meeting is another option truth be told I looked you up on the internet and there is a plethora of articles about you 1 in particular stood out you had said and I quote verbatim working with other teachers or other administrators I have always had collaboration be the core of what I'm all about and of quote if collaboration is indeed your core belief how do you respond to not responding to any of my emails board members I think a review of expectations should be had with our superintendent the disrespect must stop here after being ghosted multiple times I'm starting to think of the saying a small can mean a thousand words but it can also hide a thousand problems thank you okay um Sarah good evening board members and District staff I am here this evening to address a serious issue accountability we expect students to be accountable for their actions and that same standard must be applied to the adults responds multiple for their care and their education when a teacher violates a student's 504 plan and uses their position to intimidate and harass a student that conduct must be addressed promptly and appropriately this District must go further and examine why that 504 process failed and what safeguards are needed to ensure that this does not happen again Dr Jimenez asked the superintendent you are responsible possible for ensuring that legal accommodations are understood followed and enforced across the district whether the teacher ignored the 504 plan or failed to review it and understand it the result was the same a legal document was violated and a student was harmed this incident occurred on October 31st 2025 then I have repeatedly contacted the director of Family Services Dr and delicata to ask how we can collaborate and correct this broken process so that no other students experiences the same failure each time I have I have to send multiple follow-up emails more recently I sent 3 follow up emails and left the voicemail before receiving a response 6 weeks later this is unacceptable accountability requires timely communication meaningful corrective action and Leadership that ensures legal protections are not treated as optional I am asking this District to take responsibility reveal what failed and Implement a clear process to prevent this from happening again while an automated signature process May create efficiency it does not by itself ensure that the staff have read understood or are prepared to comply with the legal obligations in the students 504 plan the district must the district must have a process that confirms understanding and not just collect signatures I will be following up on the response I received on June 21st to my April 29th email and I expect this matter to be handled with serious the seriousness that it deserves okay thank you um there are 2 hands raised online but I think only 1 of them was up before the uh public comment was closed so that that is Joanne nazarian um if you want to unmute her and let her speak please hello can you hear me yes we can great good evening board members superintendent Jimenez and cabinet members at the June 9th school board meeting it was stated from the dis that the frost generated 25,000 in revenue for fiscal year 2526 and that this information was requested and received from business services that figure is grossly underestimated and it matters because statements from the diet is shaped public perception and influence and District decision making it also leads to a larger question if the general manager of the frost is the person responsible for rentals scheduling client relationships contract oversight event coordination support and Logistics and understanding facility operating costs it seems reasonable that the board with C clarification directly from that person before drawing conclusions about the facilities performance also board discussions mentioned the frost as a revenue revenue generating entity however the frosters purposes Beyond pure profit generation it support students District programs Community engagement and educational opportunities evaluating it solely as a profit Center risks overlooking its broader Mission and value to the district without a clear operational plan eliminating the district Arts coordinator slash Frost general manager position risks creating gaps in service reducing rental activity increasing stress on remaining staff and ultimately undermines both student opportunities and future Revenue generation so my question is this has the board been presented with a transition plan identifying who will assume these responsibilities and how those responsibilities will be funded and staffed and what the impact and what impact the change is expected to have on student programming District events Community rentals and future Revenue generation at the frost Auditorium I would hope that this could be prioritized and perhaps presented at a future meeting thank you for items not on the agenda thank you very much 7 .3 CC USD employee groups Miss jagneaux on behalf of these please good evening board cabinet and Community um I want to start by saying thank you to the district for the conclusion of our negotiations for the excuse me 2526 school year and we look forward to starting 2627 um I would like to take the bulk of my time this evening to say thank you on behalf of Ace membership to Dr Melissa Gooden for the time we got to work with you um I was able to thank you personally but I really would like to take this time to speak on behalf of our classified team and let you know um that throughout the time that we have worked with you I've heard the same thing from everybody your real dedication to staff has always been a parent that your morals and ethics have always been sound and that every interaction any class ified team member has ever had with you has been a positive 1 and that means a lot and we are immeasurably grateful for the opportunity to have been able to work with you we wish you all the best moving forward and I hoped cross Bass with you again and I will just say I am looking forward to working with our new team who I think is here um this evening and I look forward to continuing to have a great relationship as we move forward in the best interests of classified and the district in the students and that's all I've got so happy summer everybody thank you Mr long on behalf of ccft hi good evening everyone um so far same thing just um you know that we're completed the um process and you know uh ratification everything like that and it was it was a good process this year there was a lot of um language in the contract that we got cleared up that you know just was kind of old and outdated language I think that was 1 of our missions was to try to clean up as much as we possibly can it is a very dense contract but I think we got a lot of good stuff done with the contract this year um and also you know a very small amount toward our benefits package as well too um I just wanted to say you know thank you just for getting that process done and but I also want to say that you know moving forward as we're kind of going in and part of the reason why you have a sunshine proposal in July when normally we have those in October is the state budget will be adopted in probably the next week or so um and we have a pretty good idea from cftr state union what that is going to look like so this is the time that we really need to move forward for all of our employees in this district and that is with this increased amount of money from our Cola with this 1-time money is when we really need to tackle um our staff salaries so we are now going to be entering the third July without a salary increase so the last salary increase was in July of 2022 so we'll be now going to the 3rd July 1st without a salary increase and we have to get something done and that's why we want to Sunshine now because that money is there from the state and we want to take a look at what we can do with that incoming money from the State remember our members have been just extremely patient in this whole process um very very patient in this whole process um understanding The District's uh financial situation but with new monies coming in I think this is the time for us to act um on those salary issues for ccft I also want to take an opportunity to welcome all the new members of cabinet that are here already so thank you welcome and our new Middle School assistant principal as well too so so um welcome to CCS USD so we do have a Labor Management partnership here so we uh look forward to working with um all of you in this Labor Management partnership uh both on the district level and over at the middle school on the site level as well too all right then I want to reserve the rest of my time also to speak about um Dr Gooden so I've had a number of HR people I've worked with now in this position and what's funny is I haven't even been president like I'm not like Dave milky um but you know I've worked with quite a few now um both regular and interim and I and I just want to say when you know you first started I mean you could tell right away that you're kind of very honest and open in the process and I think not only did I noticed that but you know all of our members and staff noticed that as well too and even some of my most hardened members were like she's all right you know so I don't think I've ever heard them say that about anybody um you know in the administration before so you got that from a couple of members and I was like oh wow so see I told you and uh it's just been a pleasure to work with you and you know I think we looked at a lot of things that were issues here in the district and we kind of worked our best in the last 2 years to get them fixed like I said whether you know they'd be contract issues or the way things were paid out or where stip come from and you know you kind of came in had some of them identified and I want to thank Nora Roque who was the interim before who helped kind of get the ball rolling on that but you kind of came in and really uh close that up and also you you know you bar we always looked at stuff on at the bargaining table and kind of what's the Spirit of it and you know uh because language sometimes you know it's it's old it's outdated we don't know who wrote it when what was milky thinking when he put it in here and we just kind of cleaned up a lot of that and we uh just really appreciate appreciate that because it was really about you know what's the spirit of this contract what does it mean what what are we trying to get at and that's what we always kind of looked at it's like you know what what's our goal here you know why why was this written what's our goal how do we fix that and I just really appreciate your time uh working with that and also appreciate the time because I know you had an advocate to all them in closed session all the time about everything I wanted in money right so you always heard it and you know had to Advocate uh for what we wanted um you know from a union standpoint I just really appreciate that and just really want to wish you the best of luck in Elsah gundo it was just such a pleasure working with you I know we'll stay in touch I know we know some mutual folks as well too um and just really and the 1 thing I want to say about Melissa is when she became the um the HR assistant soup usually for us we'll reach out to former districts and talk to them she went to me and said you should talk to the union president and Elsa gundo Tanya she like said here's our phone number you should go ahead and talk to her so just to have that kind of confidence that I could go talk to another Union president and you know kind of hear good things I think says a lot you know for a lot of people they'd be a little bit nervous about what would the union say but you didn't think about it you you suggested it to me to you know go ahead and talk to her and I really appreciate that and I think that kind of started that whole ball of honesty right there if you know you're going to you know the president of the Union saying that and then of course now we have a good relationship but also going to do when we try to help each other out like we do with our other unions in this area Beverly Hills and Santa Monica and Manhattan Beach and that kind of continues this good overall relationship our Union tries to have with the other locals here so I just again really wanted to thank you um for time and just on behalf of all of our members you know because you were definitely that 1 positive force that I heard from them and you know just wishing you the best of luck and Elsa Gundam thank you thank you 7.4 superintendent's report uh good evening board president members of the board cabinet staff community and those that are watching at home it's an honor to be here today for our last uh board meeting of fiscal year and so uh just want to highlight a few of the things that we have been celebrating and also some of the things that we have been working on so if I can get the next slide please I do want to highlight here that uh we had a very successful if I may say so myself High School graduation at West LA College I do want to give a shout out to the uh leadership team over there for accommodating us and also the high school admin administrators and the teachers and staff for uh pulling through and making this possible I also want to thank our administrators that stayed back and provided administrative uh support at the high school while we were off over at West LA College and so it was just a beautiful event to be able to highlight our students all of their accomplishments and just a really great sense of community so I do appreciate the community for that I know it was quite hot I think out of all the uh parents that gave us feedback I mean they appreciate it being together because it's the first time being together since Co in a unified uh graduation but some of the feedback was it was hot you know can we move it to the evening or earlier in the day so we obviously take that feedback up we start planning already for next year's uh graduation so just want to you know thank the board as well for all of their support and making this happen as well if I can get the next slide please you do want to highlight as well our adult school learners for having their graduation ceremony there at the frost and as you can see some of the pictures that were taking that evening just overall excitement it was very important to hear the stories of our graduates who shared from the heart as to their experiences that they have been dealing with and have overcome uh to actually graduate from the adult schools so just want to give a shout out to our team there I know Dr K I was invited to the author uh 9 for the cookbook that they had for 1 of the classes there with Dr my soul Santana who uh guides the students to producing an actual cookbook and this is the second time they do this and students are actually sharing their culture they're working on literacy creativity collaboration and critical thinking for a real world context and I was honored to be able to share the adult Learners and talk to them about being a published author and I shared with them you can put that on your resume that you are articles about Jimenez online and 1 of the men what's going on there um so want to be able to share that they were a very uh compassionate and sharing their story their culture their history with 1 another because it involved foods from various countries and they actually brought food as well and the uh people in the class the adult Learners were able to sample you know all of the food that was brought so just want say thank you to Dr Marisol Santana for uh inviting me to come out to her classroom and to partake in and giving the students their actual cookbook next slide please I want to highlight the uh summer programs we are in full uh course as you can see there on the right we do have a listing of the different programs that we have and also the locations I don't have the hours listed for safety purposes but uh we do have programming uh going on at these campuses here and I also want to highlight the free summer meals that we have for kids and teens summer breakfast and lunch programs as well you see the dates there as well as the dates there closed and the uh locationa Elementary and also the lunch service and the times that offered next slide please and at this time um I'm going to have a cabinet update Dr Melissa Gooden will provide us with the update and also I know she'd like to say a few uh departing words to our report and community and then then we'll shift over to the administrator uh introductions Dr gone thank you Dr Jimenez um I just wanted to first start by sharing with the board and the community that as you recall in March um we had to take the difficult decision of laying off 25 positions within the district um while we weren't able to save all of these employees I am um proud to share that right now our layoffs lists currently has 7 employees on it so those are 7 employees that we don't have a position for next year however they are all on the 39-month list so as positions become available they would be called back in order of their seniority um to pick up new positions so we're working through that list and hopefully we'll be able to bring back a few more before for um we go into the new school year the second update that I wanted to share um and you will be seeing a an action item this evening I'm proud to say that we've um come to an agreement with reach University which is a nonprofit capacity that uh collaborates with um local or uh Nationwide actually school districts to offer low-cost classes for classified employees to earn their bachelor degrees so um classified employees this is pay $5 a month and they are enrolled in classes at the same time that they're going to school so the classes meet 2 hours a night and there's a spring semester and a fall semester and within 4 years um the employees are able to receive a bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts um and then finally as both of our labor Partners have shared um we were able to um come to agreements on our negotiations finalized and I just wanted to acknowledge that you know it's it's difficult to negotiate when we're in the financial situation that we are and I really appreciate the time of both the the management um team as well as both of the bargaining teams who took time to really have thoughtful decisions and sort of understand where we were and what we could do um to try to help our employees is as much as we could with the increased cost of their benefits thank you okay and then I just wanted to take a few minutes just to share a few things with you um I wanted to just say thank you for the opportunity to serve as the assistant superintendent of Human Resources over the past 2 years I've come to truly love this community and leaving it was a really difficult decision for me however um the new rule that I was offered was a professional opportunity that was too good for me to pass up I really had no intention of leaving the district um throughout my 2 years here each time I visited a School site I had the opportunity to meet dedicated Educators and his passions for students and public education was truly inspiring I've been so impressed by the talent that exists throughout the district from the administration to the small district office that people think is much larger than it actually is is um our certificated classified and unrepresented employees I you know through tough times there's just this passion that doesn't always exist in other districts I'm deeply appreciative to Dr Lucas for selecting me for this role and had the Good Fortune of inheriting a really amazing HR team who still smiled when I said we're losing 2 employees and they took it and and worked even harder than they were so thank you to my my team um and finally thank you to the board for entrusting me to help build systems here to retreat to recruit and retain employees um to make difficult Staffing decisions when necessary and to represent the district within labor negotiations finally IBM missed to not express my sincere app appreciation to Ray Lauren and Debbie hammy as well who she's not here tonight but it would you know she deserves Kudos as well I don't think that people fully understand the countless hours that each of you devote to advocating on behalf of employees while remaining meaning steadfast in your commitment to ensuring that the district continues to be an exceptional place for students to learn and a place where employees want to be so thank you to each of you and I know you've each been here through these Transitions and I know that you're going to do the same thing again with flying colors um each of us and each of the the the bargaining um bargaining units have navigated challenging situations together and I just really appreciate that we've always been able to come together and um handle things with compassion dignity and fairness that um each of you brought to the conversations and the difficult decisions that we had to make and that doesn't happen everywhere so thank you um finally Dr Jimenez although I'm leaving Culver City I'm not going far um I have tremendous admiration for your calm demeanor and your thoughtful methodical approach when it comes to complex problems uh you often remind us that once we work with you we remain part of your network and I fully intend to take you up on that so thank you um thank you for talking me down more times than I can count um for believing in me and for giving me the confidence to grow as a leader these are lessons that I've learned here and I will take them forward so I you know look forward to remaining colleagues with you thank you thank you Dr goodhead we will definitely your leadership here all right uh moving right along if I can get the next slide we do want to welcome our new cabinet team member so if I can have Dr Marisella Ramirez please stand and come to the podium and just kind of sit there while or stand well I read a a little script about you so uh Community this is Dr Maricela Ramirez who has served in variety of educational leadership positions including Chief education officer instructional director middle school and high school principal and for 13 years a proud High School social studies teacher Dr Ramirez focuses on supporting staff and Building Systems that ensure every student experiences a joyful high quality education she is passionate about creating cradle the career Pathways for students and remains curious about the ways education continues to evolve and transform and responds to the needs of today's Learners Dr Ramirez earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Yale University a master of Art and education from Stanford University a master of arts and education Administration from UCLA and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Southern California as a daughter of immigrants from Mexico and a first generation college graduate Dr Ramirez understands firsthand that transformative power of education and the opportunities it creates for students families and communities welcome to Culver City Dr lamez so at this time if you would like to uh take a moment to basically you know address the board and anything else you'd like to share and also introduce any family you may have with you this evening thank you and good evening um I would like to start by thanking president Laredo the board members and superintendent him and his further opportunity I am deeply honored in your confidence in me and I am excited to join this Culver City Family on July 1st I believe my experience values and commitment to public education will allow me to contribute meaningfully to the outstanding work that has already happening throughout the district I look forward to partnering with all of you with administrators teachers certificated and classified staff students families labor organizations foundations and community members as we work together to support the success of every student this evening I am joined by my family my husband David a and our sons Diego andaz and box they are proud products of public schools and are an integral part to my journey and continue to be my greatest strength support and inspiration I am truly thrilled to become Again part of this family and look forward to the work ahead thank you congratulations welcome you don't know at this time if the board would like to just say a word or 2 no okay all right moving right along if I can get the next slide if I can have a deal pad please come to the podium all right so community it is my pleasure to present our new District assistant superintendent of Business Services Mr Dale Prasad who brings over 25 years of comprehensive experience and business and financial management this experience includes leadership and oversight of key operational divisions such as fiscal Services budget accounting payroll purchasing facilities planning and construction maintenance operations and transportation risk management benefits Child Nutrition technology and energy management throughout his career Mr pad has demonstrated a consistent ability to align fiscal and operational systems in support of the district's goals in addition to financial leadership Mr Prasad brings extensive experience in cabinet level collaboration Labor Relations and stakeholder engagement he has participated in collective bargaining processes and represented districts and Community Civic and governmental forums he has also served 20 years in the US are Force as an air traffic controller Mr persad's leadership approach emphasizes collaboration clear communication and a strong partnership with labor groups board members and Community stakeholders stakeholders and supportive District priorities Mr pad holds a ba and from from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University he is also a certified coso Chief business official congratulations Mr pad and welcome to co City all right any word you like to say to the board you're leaving um president Laredo and members of the board and superintendent to be here in Culver City and um excited to get started and um I want to Echo just about everything that Marisella said so we can um uh get started I know there's a lot of challenges in the district I look forward to uh joining team and working uh to provide um environment that is conducive to learning for our students first always and uh to work with our staff and um uh the team here and uh to join the uh Culver City Family forward to presenting to you in the future thank you all right welcome and thank you very much all right if I can uh get Miss or Dr Hector Galicia he's uh approached the podium there uh Community it's an honor to introduce to you Dr Hector Galicia our assistant superintendent of Human Resources who has more than 30 years of experience in public education including Service as a classroom teacher site administrator and District leader and county level education administrator this breadth of experience provides a deep understanding of both instructional and operational systems as well as the critical importance of aligning human resources practices with Student Success and organizational Effectiveness throughout his career Dr Galicia has demonstrated a strong commitment to equity Equity driven leadership strategic systems development and collaborative problem solving a key strength of Dr delis leadership is his ability to build and sustain effective relationships with the wide range of stakeholders including certificated and classified staff labor Partners cabinet colleagues governing board members and Community stakeholders Dr Delicia Jose bachelor's and master's degree from California State University Dominguez Hills and a doctorate in organizational leadership from the University of lever we are pleased uh to welcome Dr Galicia to the district and look forward to leadership experience and partnership that he will bring to our organizations congratulations and welcome Dr Galicia that was such a wonderful introduction thank you good evening um more precisely and board members as well as the public and friends here from the from the community I want to thank each 1 of the board members as well as Dr gimenez to uh Grant to me this opportunity and very humble to also for your entrustment and my leadership as I come in to Culver City a unified school district uh not only to represent you as the board member but also to represent myself representing myself as a professional as well as a a person itself um I'm definitely looking forward for the opportunity not only to collaborate with our cabinet members the board members but also what the labor Partners as well as the community and thus far um just excited I'm I'm just excited to just thrilled once again uh and and definitely like I said looking forward to working with each 1 of you I'm sure that um in this case Dr may I say it's bringing in 3in members so I'm looking forward asking for the opportunity to building that team and collaborating and working together for the betterment of of the school district and our community here as well so once again thank you very much for this great opportunity thank you Dr all right and our final administrator if I can please have Mr Joshua Stern he's approached the podium there uh so Community is my pleasure to present our new assistant principal at Culver City Middle School Mr Josh Stern an experienced instructional leader with extensive secondary level experience and a strong record of improving School culture systems and student outcomes throughout his career Josh has demonstrated the ability to lead schools while maintaining a clear focus on Equity student engagement and academic success for Learners Mr Stern brings deep expertise and restorative practices PBIS special education leadership mtss and data-driven decision-making to improve attendance discipline and instructional outcomes his experience includes leading instruction coaching staff evaluation and implementing systems that strengthen both academic and behavioral support for students Mr Stern holds a bachelor's degree from San Diego State University and a master's degree from California State University Northridge we are confident that Mr Stern's leadership experience and student centered approach will make a meaningful contribution to supporting schools and improving the outcome for students at Culver City Middle School congratulations Mr Stern and at this time if you want to say a few words to the board and also if you have any family members joining if you like to uh introduce and welcome them as well thank you Dr menes uh president Laredo rest of the board and cabinet and new members of the cabinet uh thank you for having me I it's an honor for me to be here I'm local kid um I grew up in West LA going to Tito's Tacos and um so it's it's for me it's kind of a nice homecoming I um I I love being in middle school I love middle school kids and I looked I'm just really looking forward to hitting the ground running getting to know the kids getting to know the staff um the the teachers the families getting to know everybody and really making the the relationships that's the thing that's uh most important to me sorry I don't have anything prepared so I'm shooting from the hip right now um but I'm just speaking from the heart I also want to say thank you for your service sir from 1 Navy man to an Air Force and with me I have my wife who's a high school English teacher and I also going to high school and my daughter Riley who's going into seventh grade over at also going to middle as well thank you congratulations all right that concludes my superintendent's report and I yield back thank you sir uh 7.5 members of the audience items on the agenda how many requests for public comment do we have at this time um so we have 3 in person I see 2 online I think Ron had his hand up before but I'll count it for now um sure I think that's okay so if we have a total of 5 right now we can take 3 minutes each and uh we are now closing public comment and when you speak please remind us what number or what topic maybe both you might uh to introduce your statement please so that we can keep track um okay the 3 that are here in person we have rashini magia uh Angie Graves and Francis roseno so if we want to start with roshini go first and I will hold this up as your time hello uh roshi me I'm speaking to 10.9 um thank you so much for taking our concerns into consideration and working quickly and diligently to get something going uh regarding the cell phone policy before the next school year um as a teacher I have had a cell phone free classroom for a few years and now I've seen firsthand how learning has been impacted in a positive way I know implementation can seem daunting but it has Honestly made a huge difference not in not only in how learning happens but how students are communicating with 1 another which if those of you those of us who taught drain pandemic coming out of that getting kids to talk to each other was like the worst but now they are talking to each other and communicating effectively and I think that has to do with our very strong cell phone policy thank you thank you um Angie you're next my glasses on um good evening um I want to start with a huge thank you to all of you um to The District staff the School site administrator teachers and committee members who listened and invested all of this time and energy to create a very thoughtful policy that puts the students first um I also want to express my support for our ccusd teachers um at the last meeting I heard concerns about um teachers and the expectation that teachers would shoulder the responsibility of enforcing the policy um as a parent I 100% understand those concerns and I want our teachers to know that parents see and appreciate the tremendous load that they carry already so um you know we want to as as we move into this implementation phase um we want to be here to support um 1 thing I really really appreciate about the proposed policy is that it does establish a district-wide expectation that that school sites have flexibility in the details of the implementation and I I we've already talked to Miss Lane at middle school and she seems very teacher forward and involved in each grade level driving uh the details of the implementation um and also as the implementation conversations continue I would concern encourage communication with surrounding middle and high schools in our right here on the West Side um there we know of several who have implemented without any locked pouches um with success I think there's sometimes a perception that we have to have the pouches and we don't have enough money for the pouches so how are we ever going to do this and it's going to be a mess out on the yard and I think it has in our past in our schools it has been a mess so I think as we iron this out and stick with the policy for many years it's going to get better um but we know there are we know of 2 middle schools in our local area that received funding for pouches and decided not to use them because they already had a good system um keeping in phones and backpacks for the entire day uh can reduce Transitions and opportunities for distractions so I also want to discourage the per classroom Locker or per you know you take put it in the pouch you take it out of the pouch it's in your backpack on the break all of those transitions can just be messy and what we've heard is just the simplest thing is put it in the backpack and leave it there the whole day um I do believe this policy will ultimately ultimately benefit the teachers uh we've heard this from uh several teachers through this process and um I know there's a lot of work ahead tonight feels like a really important step to a healthy more connected um School experience for our students just know that this low Tech committee is here to support thank you so much okay thank you and then Francis hi I'm Francis rosanil parent with kids um Rising into the middle school and high school I want to commend the board staff administrators all the committee members and other their leaders to getting us to this day we have come a long way I looked back and it has been 609 days since the first time I addressed the school board on this issue October 22nd 2024 6 9 days on that day I advocated for a district districtwide approach phone free across all School sites and for a committee of key stakeholders to come together to form solutions for a phone free day and here we are arriving at this day show shows the drive and determination of our community Advocates and the willingness of so many new who are new in leadership to step into the process midstream thank you and the work is only just beginning now we come to the fun part um over the next few weeks Communications will go out to sites and families about the new policy and what to expect and over the next few months new protocols and implementation plans will be rolled out and put into practice and it will probably be bumpy road you will hear resistance you will hear a lot of adults saying things like is it really worth it what does this accomplish anyway why is it such a big deal they're just going to be on their phones anyway so why Try when that happens is not if but when please keep going any big change especially with such a short turnaround is very hard not to mention the added challenge of addictive technologies that adults have to find workarounds for so please keep going when students find ways around enforcement keep going when staff are unsure what new policies will mean keep going when families question or push back or write angry emails keep going please you know that they they say that the people who broke the sound barrier it took so long because as soon as they would increase the speed it got louder and louder and the plane shook more and more and more and so they would pull back and what finally made the difference is when it shook and it was loud they went further they kept going and only pushing through got them to the other side so we will get to the other side by moving through whatever comes our way this fall and in this coming school year and you will take us there thank you okay thank you um next comment we have Ron levenson online if you want to unmute him yes I don't know what happened before my hand was actually up the entire time and then somehow it was taken down right before the uh ask for comments but in any event um we'll move on and positivity here and say that this has to do with any agenda item uh surrounding HR uh I'm actually not speaking on my own behalf although I totally agree with these comments uh Dr Lucas had contacted me and asked if I would uh relay some comments on his behalf which I'm happy to do tonight this is in the words of Dr Lucas tonight is Dr Gooden's last board meeting with sisi USD so thank you for indulging my comments and praise from afar 1 more time and thanks to Ron for agreeing to be my I want to thank Dr Gooden for everything she did for the district and its employees some may think HR is distance from the work of education but I'd argue it's the key lever of success since our students achievement risk in the hands of our people our human resources Dr Gooden was exceptionally diligent in aligning the work of HR with student outcomes ensuring high quality hires helping manage performance so employees brought their best and supporting employees in need all in service of that goal as I mentioned last time permiss Rajiv or as board member Carlson mentioned on my behalf I know the job is not always an 1 HR can be the face of layoffs or employee discipline both of which Dr Gooden handled with exceptional professionalism and compassion Dr Gooden also does not shy away from tackling challenges without going into a specifics for obvious reasons there were several years long people issues in the district that Dr Gooden took on and resolved in months she developed trusting and productive relationship with our awesome labor partners and supported our admins and teachers in issues Beyond HR with her broad experience and expertise all of these making ccusd a better place to learn and to work Melissa you and your talents are impressive and 1 of the best hires of my entire career I wish you the absolute best and thank you for all the support and friendship you gave me and for your service and commitment to the student of Culver City Ron thanks for your help with this hopefully we made it in under 2 minutes uh anyway I want to uh personally echo my thanks to Dr Gooden I really really appreciate you including me this is Ron speaking how uh including me on so many of the hiring panels and um I totally agree with everything that uh Dr Lucas said thank you hey um and then the last comment we have is uh Jennifer arbit I'm sorry if I pronounced that wrong or barbell I think you need to unmute yourself sorry about that okay can you hear me yep we can hear you now hi yes it's Jennifer barau thank you so much for for uh letting me speak here I have a uh daughter in elementary school at CCSD and I have a son in middle school he's a rising seventh grader and I'm here to speak on 10.9 I am so thrilled that we have finally reached the point where we are at as we all know that um getting cell phones out of the school you know support so many things better focus attention improved academic performance less cheating um reduce cyber bullying better mental health more face-to-face interaction all of the above is so important um so I just want to say that I absolutely support a no cell phone policy for the whole day not a classroom by classroom so please please please make it for the whole day um it makes me feel really proud to be a part of ccusd that we're here at this point and that it's finally on board with this um doing something about the cell phones in school rather than being ashamed as we were so so far behind ccusd schools are the reason that I moved and I bought a home here in CC and Culver City and um I really just want us to be Forward Thinking with this and have the patience like Francis said that this is not going to be easy but please please stick with this because we know that this is putting our children first and that is what is important so thank you so much for your time and your help okay I think that is it for comments on on the agenda thank you so much and now we move to members of the board last time we started with Mr edoor so this time we'll start with Ms Carlson followed by Mr lachman Mr Guerrero then Mr Isadora um okay uh happy summer everybody I think my comments will be fairly brief tonight um I wanted to congratulate our high school and adult school graduates those ceremonies were after our last board meeting um we heard from 3 graduates of the adult school who shared their personal and inspirational stories about their lives and how they came to graduate from high school later in life uh which was absolutely amazing to to be a part of that ceremony um and then additionally the next day we had the high school graduation which was really lovely as as well and it was wonderful to have everybody in 1 ceremony over at West LA College know we had a few little hiccups with some of the procedures there which hopefully we can start ironing out uh with particularly folks coming down onto the field um and swarming us a bit um but it was it was really nice um and and it was nice to be a part of that um on Saturday I visited Culver City's Juneteenth celebration with my family it was really well produced so we can do something else okay so Ronnie need to do it yourself it was really well produced and a lot of fun uh I particularly enjoyed visiting the display of Trailblazers uh which featured some amazing black Americans and 1 of them was personally very delightful for me to see that was uh former Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Alan Page Alan Page uh first became well known as a member of the Minnesota Vikings purple people eaters defensive line before my time but I've heard a lot about it and he's a Pro Football Hall of Famer but while a lot of people don't know is that he attended and graduated from law school while playing professional football and then practiced as a lawyer for a few years during the offseason and then full-time once he retired he ran for and was elected to the Minnesota Supreme Court in 1992 where he was still serving when I clerked for 1 of his colleagues a little over a decade later Justice Paige is really just a fantastic judge and a wonderful human being and it was wonderful to see him honored here at a text 1 of my co clerks who clerked for him and and sent her some of the photos uh of the display over at Betts Park which was really cool and then just the final thing I I wanted to say thank you to Dr good and for her service to the district as well um everybody else spoke at length about um all the wonderful things that she's done here um I'm especially sad to be losing her because she got great things done uh but it's also just a really great person um I approached I appreciate how she approached the job with courage and with professionalism and help fix a lot of problems and moved us in the right direction as a district I know you'll be close by and so don't be a stranger thank you thank you everyone um looking forward to getting into summer uh I am going to start by uh congratulating those who participated in took part in all of in the uh I wouldn't say the marathon because it was a joy to take part in but all of the graduations that we worked with uh and got to participate I wish I could have attended the adult school ones I did the year before because the stories as we've heard are so wonderfully inspirational um to motivate us all so thank you uh and congratulations um excuse me and uh also very much enjoyed uh taking part in the June celebration and my colleagues who uh got pulled into trying out some of the dances with me as well it was a uh it was a lot of fun to do and always enjoy attending and I think this is the third or fourth 1 it's been around only for that many years um but every year it gets better the content gets better the music um is is a part of it but it's the message of inspiration and struggle um that reminds us all where we've come from and how much further we have to go um uh so appreciate that appreciate it and we'll get more as we get into some of the items hearing from many of you um on so many of the items on the agenda uh the feedback is appreciated uh and you know enjoy hearing from all of you um and when the processes aren't working letting us know so that we can help um but we we value your input in the community and appreciate having you there good evening everyone and happy summer to students families and staff who aren't working this summer and thank you to the staff who are working this summer um congratulations to all of our graduates at the high school need Adult School level as well also want to congratulate both bargaining teams uh for both bargaining units and the district bargaining team for coming to a conclusion and and a successful uh cycle of bargaining and it's great to have that done before we go into the next the new year um so we can start the next cycle um also want to congratulate the CCMS speech and debate team for their adventures in uh Washington DC at the national uh speech and debate competition um sounds like they had a great time and have made great progress with that um and then I would too just like to close with a very public appreciation for Dr Gooden um your dedication and integrity have been have been really wonderful in your respect for all employees has really allowed you I think to make a lot of progress and as a board member who has seen the alternative uh the systems and the procedures that you bring have brought in are very much appreciated um and and just the way that you've handled things and I I look forward to uh the folks who follow in your footsteps to being able to continue with that thank you very much and not to cause any Whiplash or anything I'm also thrilled that our cabinet is now complete moving into the next school year um and look very much forward to the the new cabinet and uh Dr Jimenez team being able to do the next level of fantastic things with our students and staff in the coming years so thank you very much I'd like to thank our Educators our leaders are my colleagues for the intestinal fortitude that it took to survive graduation season enjoy and light and in in all celebration of their Journey um I it's uh uh it was such a I wanted to soak up every moment because even in the hot sun uh we had so much to celebrate um and I also want to thank Dr Gooden uh who really has a talent for being able to be uh uh have the emotional intelligence to treat those who have had negative experiences in the past with District leadership with respect and compassion that produces results and progress and really impacts our student achievement because uh through your work uh you're able to uh earn trust back um 4 Hour uh staff to uh make sure that uh we are getting the uh the impact that we needed for our students and for our staff so I really want to thank you and I I feel like I've also learned so much from you and and through you and interpreting how people present themselves to you and delivering what they needed sometimes because what we need sometimes isn't what we say and I think that that's uh that's a special talent so thank you so much for that uh I'd also like to welcome our new leadership team uh July 1st it just it feels so complete and um at this time I would like to take a short break for us to take a photo if we could take a photo with Dr Gooden and then also take a photo with our incoming cabinet I would appreciate that um in in lie of a deserves to go home early 9.2 local indicators presentation Garner all righty good evening uh board president board members superintendent h and members of the community tonight I will provide a brief overview of the indicators and highlight key outcomes I would like to note that the complete presentation is attached to tonight's agenda and available as part of the public record for community members who would like to review it in its entirety overall Culver City Unified School District has met all 5 required local control funding formula lcff and local indicators demonstrating our ongoing commitment to supporting student achievement maintaining positive learning environments engaging families and ensuring Equitable access to educational opportunities our key highlights are for Priory priority 1 basic conditions have been met 100% of students have access to standards aligned instructional materials and 7 of our 8 District facilities were rated in good repair priority 2 implementation of State academic standards has met has been met the district continues to support student learning through the use of diagnostic assessments interim assessment blocks and professional learning communities that promote continuous Improvement and instructional collaboration for priority number 3 parent involvement and engagement that has been met survey results continue to reflect strong relationships between staff and students with 89% of respondents districtwide agree or strongly agreeing that teachers and staff genuinely care about every student we also continue to engage families through training opportunities connected to instructional tools and student learning supports for priority number 6 School climate that has been met 92% of parents and families reported that school is a safe place for their child demonstrating a strong sense of safety and belonging throughout our schools priority 7 access to a broad course of study that has been met students continue to benefit from rigorous uh academic opportunities including the including more than 3,100 advanced placement course enrollments during the 2025 2026 school year along with strong participation in Ovid programs at both the middle and high school levels in summary the district has met all required local indicators and these results reflect our continued efforts to provide high quality instruction Foster positive School climates strengthen family Partnerships and expand opportunities that prepare all students for future success thank you any question thank you moving on to 9.3 uh 9.3 the school plan for student achievement which we call the sipsa is a document that represents a school cycle of continuous Improvement of student in performance the annual process for developing revealing and updating the essay or the school plan for student achievement includes a comprehensive review of data and the development of actions necessary to achieve school school goals the plan also addresses funding proposed expenditures related to state and federal categorical programs education codes 52853 and 52855 require school plans to be reviewed revised and submit it to the Board of Education annually the school the sipsa for Culver City High School Culver Park High School Culver City Middle School El Marino elrond con Farragut Laona and Linwood e Howe are being presented to the board of education for public information and will be presented for action on July 14th 2026 the attached school plans or sips have all been approved by their School site councils any questions thank you very much Dr Gardner thank you I will entertain a motion multiple motion uh however y'all want to do this 10.1 through 10.8 or the whole 10 I'm good for moving 10.1 through 10.8 and we'll keep 10.9 separate I'd like to pull 1 and 2 out of that sure so 3 through 8 1 or 2 no no no no hold on which which 1 you need to amend or to restate right okay so I'd like to you can't you can't pull it it's not a consent item so and I would like to have individual discussion on 1 and 2 okay so then it would be 48 okay and then at this time somebody needs to move 10.1 I move 10.1 second that thank you oh did you second okay sure Brian can I I just want to uh I mean sorry should I speak to it all right so again this is the 1 that we had a little bit or that I had a little bit of conversation uh rather late uh in the last meeting about this is an exhibit and I appreciate those who pointed that out in some discussions that were 1 board member because we're only allowed to have discussions with 1 board member um and Dr Gooden about this I still feel that this exhibit is unhelpful um and and would rather we not include this um it doesn't have any impact on the board policy it doesn't have any impact on the administrative regulation um as a matter of fact the board policy that it goes with what is that uh 4119.21 actually has a web link to this name document and a better explanation I just feel that um having an an exhibit that doesn't apply to our staff is not really relevant it's kind of like like a posting the Dodgers batting lineup in Angel Dugout it it doesn't apply to our folks it's not their organization um as a matter of just here it is for reference sake that is included in the BP itself um there's a section at bottom of the VP that says here's some additional information for reference so I think uh including the exhibit is unnecessary I would point out that it is the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim time sure but if you feel that strongly about it if you want to How would how would that motion be made would they want to would he have to amend it to remove the exhibit this exhibit is a part of uh it's not an addition it's what's in there now right yes so he's so you could either so I I strike it down and then at another time you have to ask for it to be removed like it exists now this has been a part you approve this to 2 years ago when we had approved in November of 2024 we approved hundreds of them at once yes looking at this now it just strikes me as odd that we have an organizational statement about an organization to which our employees don't belong as As a matter of reference it is in the board policy it says here it is for reference um I'm also willing for the body to move forward on this and just vote that I don't think it should be part of this I just have a question about this is there is there an equivalent for aft there isn't and and that's part of the challenge can I just add a piece that um there is not an equivalent for a for this and if there was something that an employee did that was unethical um we would look to this as sort of our District's view on what we consider an ethical employee to be and it would be reference and some type of discipline even though our members aren't or I'm I'm our employees aren't uh members of csca we still say as a by adopting this we're saying we still agree to these being the the ways that employees would be ethical I mean I can sort of understand that at some level I guess too because model rules of professional responsibility which are not you know specifically binding with respect to all of us as lawyers in the profession like California rules of conduct yes but um I I kind of see the point of having something like this as opposed to having nothing at all um so I I would probably support keeping it okay yes ma'am I'm I mean for that's what you're looking for I'm happy to to vote for this as this uh I I didn't quite get to where you understand where you were at so I'm I I'm fine I I I concur the majority I just wanted to give Brian the opportunity if there was that to be able to take take the procedures to where he wanted to go okay then I'm going to call a vote all labor say I I all those not yeah all those opposed say nay nay passes so I I 10.2 is there a motion I'll move it second same discuss discussion feel free to move straight to voting all those in favor say I I all those in oppose nay nay the eyes have it okay so I will now entertain a motion for 10.3 through 10.8 I move 10.3 through 10.8 as a is there a second a second thank you any discussion all those in favor say I I thank you 10.9 can I have a motion please so moved second thank you discussion I guess am I supposed to go first I I don't have very much to say on the substance of this just again I think basically repeating I think what I said last time which is you know thanks to the committee as well as the uh District staff and administration that have been involved in creating this policy and um I've sort of joked about this being like the Constitutional Convention on cell phones in the district uh you know I know was a long time coming and there was a lot of discussion around it and I think we we landed would seems to me in a to be in a good place and I'm certainly not here to second guess anything that the committee is doing um 1 thing I did just sort of want to mention as kind of a corollary to this we got a number of emails today um that appeared to be sort of public comment is in nature um you know we might I will probably ask to agenda something regarding a you know procedures involving public comment um because I think people think that they email us and that's a public comment but it's not really so um just something that maybe we can put a pin in on and think about that um you know providing our our community with a little better guidelines around that that's all for me thank you I appreciate it think I got 8 or 9 emails in support of this appreciate getting those uh also appreciate the update which gives the uh flexibility to to figure out what works uh which is important in the collaborative partnership uh to figure out what the most effective approaches so um uh it can be a very slow process sometimes and I know frustrating 1 um but your hard work paid off and getting to where we are and appreciate everyone coming together to put together a a a solid policy that we gives us the adaptability uh to continue to uh learn uh make sure that our students are safe and focused and interacting with each other uh at the same time um and move forward so thank you very much for that um yep I think the policy is great um I really appreciate the work everybody put into this I do want to remind folks because there was a question that came to us about students who may use their devices for medical monitoring or or as a function of their IEP or something there are uh Provisions built into this actually built into the end code that that spurred this whole thing um but in also in our policy in case of an emergency when a teacher administrator grants specific position permission for a student to use when a licensed physician or surgeon determines that possession of or use of a communication device is in the students health and well-being or when possession or use is required by a student's IEP um so that is included in our policy too and those are legal requirements um so again I think the policy is great um I'm a little bit more skeptical about the um are the administrative regulation not the phones away all day phones away all day phones away all day yes yes yes um but if I were classroom teacher reading that it would certainly feel like a lot of that was falling on me because some of these discussions are happening apparently over the summer um at the school sites to figure that out um and that feels late and and not super inclusive of the Educators or the classified staff who in a lot of cases are going to be the front line on this um so I have some concerns about that and and want to continue monitoring how those discussions are going over over summer um so that we've got a couple of updates and uh you know there was a mention of communication going out if we send that communication out very soon that communication is going out even before some of those uh actual things have been worked out so uh part of this I have some concerns about the administr administrative uh regulation I do also want to um Echo and appreciate 1 of the public comments about sticking with this um what I have read in the research and I mentioned this last time is that there is actually a uptick in disciplinary uh incidents and actually student reported a drop in perception of well-being at the onset of this process um and so I don't want us to be shy about this or to be scared off on this um I do want us to be prepared that there will be potentially an increase in disciplinary incidents um and what we're doing to respond to that and to not escalate those Beyond where they need to be escalated um but to stick with this because the research church is saying it takes about 3 years for the discipline to kind of go back down to where it was to the student well-being to actually start to uh report higher and for academic respond results to actually begin to bear fruit so it's going to be a rough first year um but I do think increased communication and participation with our classroom folks about how to do this is going to be important going forward so thank you before we move on I'm going to verification because you said that you had concerns about about the administrative regulation but you are not providing any amendments at this time are you saying that you're concerned about how it's implemented or about that the the are itself I think the r is vague um in the how there will be responses to and how some of these things will be implemented uh that may be a feature and not a bug to allow the sites to develop their own processes um but still end of June and for August roll out when teachers are are not around um I I think that that vagueness is going to end up being a bit of a a challenge going forward I would have liked to have seen more specific are but I am not going to vote against it or pull it out or anything so no amendments at this time no okay no major I just want to concur with my colleagues just a lot of gratitude to the to the committee for their work on this and to the community activism for bringing this to us so long ago I will Echo that uh and last uh contract that we had uh the board approved for Dr Marisella Ramirez as well which we actually updated to areas which related to evaluation and also indemnification language that we added for this particular 1 as well and also for the next 1 in 12.2 thank you I have some language to read for uh we asked for a in compliance with government code section 54953 C3 the following summarizes the assistant superintendent compensation and benefits included in the proposed employment agreement placement on step 8 of the contracted management assistant superintendent Business Services salary schedule with base salary of 220,081.36 Health dental and life insurance coverage consistent with that offer to other certificated management Personnel 22 vacation days 12 sick leave days per year 250 monthly travel expense allowance reimbursement for actual and necessary travel costs for district business outside the county and membership dues for the association of California school discussion all those in favor say I I thank you 13.1 13.1 is the approval of the 2026 2027 El Cap and SF Federal addendum which as you all know is required to be approved for swing to Ed code 52060 that all leas must adopt and the lcap is a 3-year plan describing the leas or District annual goals and specific actions to address state and local priorities to support outcomes for groups and so the items recommended for adoption are the budget overview for parents as well as well as a 2627 lcap that was crafted with student family staff and educator input and partner meant as described and the lcap and the plan was submitted for adoption and was reviewed by Leo and is presented here for the board of education on June 9th as an informational item and so therefore we seek approval for the school and Family Support Services case number 252 6 - 02 the Board of Education received information and closed session and is now considering uh this case for Action can I have a motion please I'll move second all those in favor say I I I 14.1 14.1 is the 2026 2027 budget adopt uh for the upcoming year and we are recommending a positive certification as presented and just as the board knows we actually had a special board meeting on the budget to be able to provide the board with the and also some of the information that we have since learned and this budget is being presented as I shared earlier with the Positive certification and we do uh want to make uh an adjustment with the presentation to the board just on the updated budget that the governor uh presents once he signs the budget so we do plan to bring information on the July 14th meeting that gives us the information that we know and how that will impact our budget with respect to making any changes or being able to do uh in an amended budget we are able to do it if there's substantial changes to our budget so I spoke to our new assistant superintendent of Business Services deal pad about that then basically that's the the indicator if they're substantial changes but if not then it'll follow our regular uh review uh process uh but we do plan to bring that information on the July 14th meeting so it is here for your donation agreement with food finders Incorporated for the upcoming fiscal year and this provides an opportunity uh for us to be able to uh have food that is considered surplus food that is safe for human consumption but cannot be used in school meal service and provided to this uh organization and so we are committed to ensuring you know for sustainability and if there's an organization like this that's doing this work I think it's a great program for our district that no cost because it does help reduce food waste and supports the local community and aligns with federal and donation laws so we seek approval for this item not really discussion but just you know thanks for finding and and providing and I think you know as as part of the district's mission on sustainability um this is a really you know good thing to be adding um to our program so thank you did a thank you all those in favor say I I I 15.1 please 15.1 is the tentative agreement between Culver City Federation of teachers and Culver City Unified School District for the 2526 school year this time second any discussion all those in favor say I I I 15.2 15.2 is the tenant of agreement between the association of classified employees and Culver University Unified School District for the 2526 school year I want to entertain a motion second any discussion all those in favor say I I 15.3 15.3 is the um the item to um to approve on me too for all management confidential and unrepresented employees to give them the same increase for their benefit cap that certificated and classified employees are receiving as part of their tentative agreements moved second any discussion all those in favor say hi hi 15.4 15 point I'm sorry 15.4 is Culver City Federation of T cheers um initial collective bargaining proposal to Culver City Unified School District for the 26 27 school year there's a motion I'll move it second any discussion all those in favor say I I 15 and 5 15.5 is the association of classified employees initial collective bargaining proposal to cover seating flight school district for the 2627 school year any discussion 15.6 15.6 is in a movie between uh cover City Unified School District and Culver City Federation of teachers regarding um Ai and the use in the classroom we weren't quite ready to do contract language yet just because AI is changing so frequently so this is an mou and as we better understand the impacts of um of AI for our employees we can move towards play doing permanent contract language a motion I'll move to approve it second I do 1 question yes there should discussion oh I didn't know if there was we moving pretty quickly through the other 1 so um yeah so I just you know I just wanted to renew my request to have a district Tech advisory committee and you know that includes not just the use of Technology tools incidental to running a school district and impact on employees but also use of AI and and other um instructional tools that employ technology um I know I've brought this up before I think we just need to be thoughtful on how we're using technology and especially positive to over Reliance on platforms and apps with respect to student instruction so I think um Dr Mets do you have any sort of update for us on that um obviously uh providing a tech committee now that we've the cell phone policy committee they don't sorry they'll give us additional bandwidth but the way I envisioned this is obviously it'll be an internal uh committee that we would start off with and as well having conversation with labor partners as to who they'd like to have on the committee but I anticipate this is something that we will get started when we return unless you know we were to bring people over the summer which is very unlikely to get people to come in for a committee but we'll get it started as soon as the New Year comes around okay great thank you my question was very similar to that you know whether we're going to have technology and AI or separate issues um someone who works rather extensively space just want to make sure we have the flexibility to build the consensus and how we work with our labor Partners to figure out the best way to move forward for responsible use of Technology not just with the professionals but in how we Empower our students and encourage our students to develop independent thinking skills and I would add from an administrative standpoint with all the use of automated decisioning out there making sure that we're protecting the rights of our employees and our students uh with respect to the use of such technology as well sorry no further discussion uh all those in favor say I I I 15.7 15.7 is the mou with reach University this is a no-cost mou for the district that allows um any classified employee that works directly with students to enroll in a low low cost back bachelor's program um that they can earn their degree within 4 years entertain a motion I'll move it second I I think this is great I
