okay and so I would like to adopt the agenda with the following amendments I would like to add more point to public comment on agendize items 4.3 superintendent report in 4.4 board report these are ones that we did not get to win our last regular meeting and I would like to put them back on USF Amendment Like to Move It Samantha does anybody else have any other amendments move to amend the agenda as just stated all those in favor say aye moving on to information items 4.2 public recognition or are Ariens Zoom with this means is this is the time for you to provide public comment on items on the agenda and that I would like to hear from our clerk how many people provide a public comment at the last meeting April 25th items in Legend oh we can do that that way to okay that's awesome I telacu construction management just want to introduce myself I was at the board meeting last last week and again today if an item comes up wanted to make sure that you guys were aware that I was here and he could address any questions regarding the agenda item on approval of program management services for the district thank you so much baby thank you for supporting to also say that as your the protagonist in the item and it's an action item that we will welcome your comment without a time limit at that time if you to speak further to anything in the contract and of course if we have questions you ready for now I would like to welcome Mister B have me to speak if you can unmute and also I pray tell us what the agenda items you be speaking on Ashley I want I had a couple of questions about 10.2 the program Management Services contract itself I noticed that there's no attachment on the agenda that shows what the contract is actually for what the total cost of the contract is and I was wondering why that in for I should have not been provided on the agenda and if it will be provided when you get to 10.2 thank you so much is that the only item yes thank you so much we will now go to 4.3 which is superintendent's report president number I have the I have the pleasure to announce the district has reached a tentative agreement without labor Partners on the ccusd work year and school year colleges for a 2020 320 for an 2020 4:25 today both districts and labor Partners value professional growth especially when it allows us to better meet the needs of our most vulnerable students the district has originally proposed added pay pupil feed stopping staff training days to the employee work here but I labor Partners responded that adding additional work days will be a burden on their members and offer suggestions for is to reconfigure existing time during the school year to meet professional development needs additionally we received constructive feedback from my labor Partners on some of the district's current professional development offering and we have Commit working together to make sure all PD offered is valuable readily applicable in the employees classrooms and work site and will contribute to Student Success we've also agreed to maintain the current vacation schedule for at least an 2 years with a one-week fall break connected to the Thanksgiving holiday a two-week winter break and a two-week spring break I like to say that the district is equally pleased to announce that progress has been made in salary negotiation next up is to review proposals and counterproposal to arrive at an outcome that reflects both the value of our employees and maintain the long-term fiscal stability of the district we appreciate the dedication of Union and District negotiate gay members and honored their commitment to support the needs of all ccusd staff students and families and tomorrow we will be able to send out to the community the details of our 2-year calendar to the best of knowledge and we would take the conversation to that point thank you thank you so much now I'm going to welcome is any of your cabinet want to do any reports or all right so now I'm going to we had we had a wonderful retirement Workshop just last week where we had about 25 at 10 attendees can you hear me it is on is that better so but we had a wonderful retirement meme last week with a Class B A certificated employees at about 25 attendees I we provided a lot of information to them and so they're making their decisions about retirement wanted to share that with the board also wanted to share that I'm over spring break and I didn't have a chance to share this at the last board meeting but there was a passing of a very special instruction assistant Sarah pulido from Lynn how just wanted to read something really quickly if it's okay with the board a beloved mother a loving wife dedicated grandmother and sister and friend it is with extreme heartbreak that we share the unexpected passing a server pulido on March 28th 2023 Toledo. Dedicated her life to her family and enjoyed spending time with her husband I've been daughters Rachel and Jasmine and four grandchildren she was committed to her work as a teacher in the Culver City Unified the district since 1998 she was a pillar of the Lynn House special education program as well as the office of child development after school program we share good memories with students families and colleagues she was a strong caring effect person with quick wet and always up for an adventure Serena was loved by many and will be truly missed so I just wanted to share that with the audience on the board I'd like to invite the board Frozen her memory thank you can we keep that document so that we can so we can adjourn moving on to board recognition word recognition and misses 4.4 I like to invite the board to provide public comment and disorder get Battle at the dark at Loretto and we'll start with your title present just a couple things and I'll go through really quick because I know we've all got several weeks of stuff to catch up on just wanted to share Saturday was that April 22nd I was bored attend a fantastic selpa transition meeting with the Tri-City selpa that's us Beverly Hills and Santa monica-malibu who work together on special ed issues this one was particularly about helping students with IEPs and 504 plans to transition from high school to College and Career so very well organized really appreciate all both of the self staff and the community members who participated in that it was really good to see that and then that same day they it's also a fantastic birthday celebration at El Rincon Elementary I've never been to one before so I was expecting a couple of booths and and stands and it was really the entire campus families from El Rincon but the entire City Community was over there so really nice celebration of Earth Day I'm really nice Hands-On active activities for the kids so again kudos to everybody who's involved with putting that together and then that very same evening prayer and myself and Tran luu to Washington DC where we were part of a 34-day lobbying effort by the California School Board Association to meet with our federal representatives to talk the number of US federal education issues we're focused specifically we visited Congress person lose office as a tiny corner of Culver City and office and we talked about specifically better funding for the individuals with disabilities Education Act Congress has historically underfunded that so we encourage them to help us get better funding there we also talked about how beneficial the mental health money come as part of covid relief have been and how we would ideally like to see those monies not go away but how important those monies for student mental health have been in and what we're doing with it we have to talk about facilities and encourage them to open up the definitions in federal funding for infrastructure which tradition goes to things like roads and bridges but to allow school buildings and school facilities had to be part of that because school field facilities in Co sitting around the nation need modernization we also talked a little bit about something called a social security penalty I'm not sure everybody knows this but if you are working in a social security paying job and then you switch me. we're to become a teacher which is a different retirement system is actually a penalty assigned to you and you lose a good portion of your Social Security makes it very hard to recruit folks from the the trades and careers into education penalty that teacher's with their their modest salaries do not need a in the retirement so encourage them to to help us get rid of that. It was a good visit it was very good to meet with school board members from around the state and to meet with our our Congressional elected to other things that I want to just bring us three things I want to bring up really quick one is I am the liaison to the Friends of the Sandy seagull youth Health Center find the email hear there's going to be some changes with the friends of Sandy Segal youth Health Center not the center itself but the friends of is a nonprofit organization that raises funding for that they've been I talked for a while with the cover City Education Foundation and those two organizations will be coming together so just maybe this is a letter from the ccef it was a great pleasure to let you know that the board of directors of the Culver City education Foundation is voted to accept your proposal to join our two charitable organizations under the ccef umbrella and so if it should help kind of coordinate the funding but to make sure that Cindy Siegel Center continues to have funding it needs to provide services for a kid I want one coming as from tenant you were also I believe going to say something about the letter from the District Attorney's office we receive the letter I don't think that we've been had a chance to bring that at a board meeting to receive that we had a notified of an error brown egg violation and I know we've taken steps to make sure that that doesn't happen again but if you have a chance to maybe speak on that a little bit I want to the week knowledge that publicly and also acknowledge what we're doing so it doesn't happen again and then the last one I just wanted to say that I'm very pleased to hear that there is progress with bargain is very distressing when the community is feeling pain when our employees are feeling pain when they're not feeling valued as much as they should be you know we want to provide our students with exemplary education and exemplary experience this weekend that without exemplary employees we can't have exemplary employees unless we treat them that way so I'm very pleased to see that that move forward I would encourage in the future again. This is my first time as a board member going through a negotiations process and it's interesting you know every every negotiation process and every place is different but I would love to see a more open and transparent negotiation process in the future I want to be careful not to like step in their direct anybody or push anybody to do anything but just to the public knows we don't traditionally see actual bargaining proposals we get reports and I appreciate that I'm going to be here from the community but I would love in the future to be more informed if we could consider that and if our labor Partners would be willing to entertain the idea of a more open and transparent bargaining process so that everybody the community could see how things are going we can see how things are going and we don't end up in a situation where it boils to head late in the process like this in the future but again much appreciation to the district team much appreciation to both partner teams for we're going to this process so thank you thank you now can we proceed with ezidore yes thank you for president I just want to quickly got to go off of what Mr Graham was talking about I was also at the the Tri-City stop by event on Saturday at go phone number grass sentiments about that I also wanted some special things in gratitude as a congressman, grand for similar Brian for for coming out to the back throughout the day and coming and speaking to how we just as groups can make sure that were lol arms at the state level at the federal level at all levels of government to make sure that we are increasing funding and make sure that we continue to cut a short I also attended the Earth Day event has particular man also before than I know myself the board president bottom of the Rite of Spring in Trenton eye doctor Baxter Road South West LA College for the opening of their change the climate yacht the country to the Keys that was great just a few things on the highlights been a minute since we met a few weeks ago I had the chance to go to the state of Black Lake County report supervisor Mitchell I'm in correlation with the LA County Executive off this I'm released an estate of back in Lake County report in it it really was a really in-depth online format that really showed that the the numbers of Oprah presentation under-representation with an l a county and how it pertains to its back black population in and specifically there was something that I thought was really worth worth noting about education number is and how I black soot inside achieving not just in our district with throughout the county so I really have a lot of guys that I really look to specifically are still super busy I really diving into that thing that we can make sure that we're incorporating that and I do feel I also opportunity to go to supervisor Mitchell's entropy pasta right now we're going to try and you were there as well it was a racial Justice exchange password in correlation with the Jewish Federation play it was a very great experience as my first-ever pasta prevent I'm going to just always really gets his  come as a community was at the vending Museum to really talk about the importance of past but also how that relates to combating anti-Semitism how that relates to combating and say blackness how that relates to making sure that we are looking through everything with the racial and social justice Landon really seeing how we have can come together and work together to combat the stomach and I'm pretty sure that was that was really great and I'll just close by but also sending my my happiness that we came to an agreement with her leg Ernest I might want to take just quickly acknowledge all of the speakers last meeting for coming out and sharing with us their lived experience kind of grounding us and let us know how we directly impact their lives and what we can do collectively to make sure that we are better not touch one to think not only our bargaining team but our labor partners and came out to show solidarity with with are you certain place or person thank you thank you could we ask superintendent to attach that LA County report to her write a report please thanks I think it'd be great for the board to look at so I will try to review a few things as possible cuz it's been so long but try to hit a couple that have been hit many or most of us did the Culver City High School in Culver City Middle School open houses which are always a pleasure and I just really appreciate all of the site administrators and all of our teachers and staff for making that such a welcome environment for all and I know that some folks had an opportunity to view the curriculum that the new health curriculum in MPR at the middle school and so I didn't I didn't hear any feedback which I think is a good thing and I think I understand there's a lot of positive reception so that that's something to look forward to adopting that new curriculum and then we had a couple of us attended the district-wide spelling bee in Robert Frost out of which is just always such a pleasure it is really a fantastic event and I was surprised at how less stressful this one felt than previous ones and I've intended and I feel that that's a testament to our staff and our Educators for supporting these little guy having fun because it's a it's a stressful environment you know we've got a giant movies blockbuster movies made about spelling bees and lots of documentaries and lots of reality shows because they are right they tend to be stressful but we did a really great job. Arby's around these guys and they seemed to me I had a fantastic time and our district site winner was from Lynwood how and so we're really excited about on the Jesse Hellyer for representing this weekend the County right now go compete at the county oh no that's why I was so late but we're so proud of okay we're all okay and then we also attend did a couple of us attended seeing Jennifer wolfsheimer who spoke to both the staff as well as the parent Community is and so the remote multiple opportunities to see Miss will shine when she's just a fantastic speaker and her is wildly inspiring and very moving and it was a wonderful opportunity I look forward to perhaps hearing more about the staff event from board member Loretta but for those of us who are the parent of an it was it was a special opportunity for the parents to get to interact with hurts so intimately because she took lots of Q and A's and people talked about their personal experiences and it was really incredible and as we continue to really outwardly facing Lee as well as internally better support our students with disabilities that was just a really I I have a lot of gratitude for us being able to invite this person because she used to work for the Federal in their Department of Education and it's a big deal it's feels like big potatoes and we should name it as such and then finally yeah I continue to express genuine appreciation to all of our staff and all of our staff quarters cuz there were also allies that came out on Tuesday night and spoke to us on the 25th for coming out standing up for fairness standing up for respect and standing up for Collective action and I firmly support all of those ideals and it is workers day so there is no better day for us to recognize workers and workers are alliances and collected action then today so thank you all so much for being there and continuing to hold us accountable remember before I get to my report I would like to go back to mr. Guerreros request that because it was not something that was up to superintendent as if that's okay with President cuz I think he was ready to address. So thank you president Missoula and miss the girl died I believe this item will be also repeated at another meeting but that just want to take this opportunity to mention that on March the March 30th we receive a letter from the district attorney of the County of Los Angeles cautioning us of a certain situation that might be violating the brown act in the enemy during the week in February 21st and in that the the district attorney letter would like to cautious us that as we moving forward there must be a balance of public transparency and the the privilege of the district to hold negotiation conversation on property in a closed session format and specifically the VA letter had asked us to consider two major consideration is officially named a district legal negotiator or legal representative as well as a detailed listing of all of our properties including all of the official code I go with those property and I I want to make sure that I mentioned that this was also and I appreciate the conversation brought into our attention by one of the members of the public and I appreciate that cautions as well to respond on Depo 20 can we send back a letter to our district attorney acknowledging that this is an opportunity for us to address as we moving forward again to make sure that we are adhering to the commitment for public transparency with being able to have privilege conversation a closed session format that also meeting the needs and the end the required by law so we moving forward and and I believe tomorrow we might have an opportunity to share in detail posting the letters and a response to the DA in public but I just wanted to share that and thank you for giving me the opportunity thank you for stuff like this say happy Asian American native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Heritage Month the month of May should be a time where we are celebrating and reflecting about the contributions and in history and our culture's I hope that you will all join me at our event at which which has been thank you publicize in Colbert pride and envy Centaur news on May on Thursday May 4th at 6:30 at the Village well will be the dchs Asian American native Hawaiian Pacific Islander parent affinity group will be co-hosting an event at Village well at 6:30 p.m. and we will have Student Art featured as well as a panel from our Asian cultural Union on featuring author and former assembly member California State Assembly member Warren Police excuse me warranty or tiny moderated by former Cerritos mayor Mark pulido. I hope to see you although it's a bike month so we have a whole bunch of up Bike to School walk to school day is coming up at each side I I hope that even if you are not rolling you can walk as well and we get as many people as possible to try to travel by car and do that three blocks to school at least three blocks to participate in the trophy at your school and I also want to say congratulations to both girls lacrosse teams at the middle school at the high school the middle school all girls lacrosse team will be playing Marlboro in the league championship game tomorrow at our high school field at 3 and at 3:15 on Wednesday the girls High School lacrosse team will be playing first round championships in the first round playoffs against Palace at the high school again at 3:15 at the at our high school so congratulations on them for their playoff berth I did attend some open houses this past it's been a long time since we've had board reports so thank you so much for bearing with us we did attempt and secondary I'm open houses and there are continue to open houses this coming week for elementary is I want to thank all of the stakeholders involved and in opening the doors for all of us and even prospective students and and parents should go see what their their new school going to be like at that time I attended the Jennifer wolfsheimer event during the staff meeting on when last Wednesday at 2 and it was in the cafeteria and although technologically support support was technote Technology support was challenging for our every difficulty here on one side of the room we had so many staff members there and it is clear to me that this is an area that we need to provide more resources and because the the need is there at the ask there and I'd like to see us continue to provide resources in the area of special education inclusion for our stakeholders and I just wish that everyone could hear her Jennifer Walsh a message so loud and clear that you know we need to provide more opportunities for our students with disabilities to be able to thrive in the fullness of their humanity and the least restrictive environment because you know they and and continue until I look forward to the part two of our inclusion master plan study session which should be coming up on it's my calendar yet but it should be coming up soon I also attended the virtual conference day of you see I teaching for justice which was Bridge their theme was preaching Kennedy's for API belonging and well-being I was it pleasantly it was also attended by other cchs and possibly CCMS I'm listen to shore but I did see quite a few of our cchs. They're so it's please about that and really like i c h e to info belonging and well-being and health outcomes for our entire Community our entire student community and family is a linchpin of that is to bring more ethnic studies curriculum to our age appropriate curriculum to all grades because when our students see themselves and identify with with the with the coursework for the lessons they're being taught their outcomes will be so much better and they will have better engagement with their education and The Liberation that they will receive and is so portent in them being up World citizens of the world as I say that many of you know that I I'm trying to send her and by student boys and and I want to address first because this is kind of a continuation from last meeting I've been sing with in addition to the students at ACU that I've been working with for this event on Thursday I've also been working with Fernanda about some of the inequities pointed out to me at the high school and was very I was very concerned to hear that our activities especially our senior activities has been difficult for our students all our students to participate in because of the difficulty or challenges in cost and I want to work and also from what I understand prom contract has been amended but has not been widely announced to our students that why it needed to be amended but I feel the pain of our students in terms of the kind of language in there that may have been other ring for our students which was sexist or racist or otherwise harmful also to our low low-income students and I want to work on policy and the future that makes it easier for us to deliver a full a full experience for all of our students not just our seniors but for all of our students that you know we need to provide a more discreet way to Rite Aid a way for them to have a Student Activities to be attainable for them to because these activities they are just Harry's on the Sunday they are part of feeling like you are 100% a part of your campus and that you are a hundred percent you are fully a student of your class and so I want to make sure that in the future we have to work with partners are nonprofit Partners like ccef and other ways to make sure that we are providing funds that make make these activities at 10 for them that this is fully supported by policies and Philippe supported by ways through plans like the El Cap or a MRSA so that we can make sure that we are being intentional in making these activities possible for them that being said the last thing I want to say is I think all of our partners and allies are stakeholders all of the public that came to make their voices heard at our last meeting and not an email and for your follow-up your passion is an engagement is very much appreciated and this is an again it's been a long time since we've had a board report and there isn't always a platform where we can respond to you so I want to say I'm sorry that it took us five days to be able to respond in this Manor but because you know board action or board reports were delayed until now we weren't able to I'm I'm happy that we seem to be getting somewhere and I really hope that you know we can build up a trust that we can heal together and make sure that you feel that you are valued and that we are hearing you and that we are working to make your arm workplace and and school sites to be the type of place where you can Thrive and I and I want you to continue to bring things to our attention when it's needed and and we will be as responses I will be as responsive as I can so thank you so much to all of you let me start with weather report and I first want to say thank you to the negotiations both with our labor partners and with our district negotiation I embrace all the public comment that that was delivered at the April meeting and I want to say I was listening attentively I will sitting still missing that could I listen to that fart I listen to I would just want to say I was listening intently and I want to see give a lot of gratitude to every single person that came to speak to us provide their personal story give up their evening to come and talk to us we listened intently and ungrateful the continued communication and the progress we've made so far start my board report May is mental health awareness month this was established in 1949 to occur awareness of the importance of mental health and wellness in America and Americans lives and to celebrate recovery for mental illness and for the past 20 something years twenty-something years the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration has recognized mental health every May and this is to increase awareness about the vital role the health place in our overall health and well-being and I really want to say that a lot of the mental health work that happens in our district occurs through cover needs this is a committee happens every month with organizations that we partner with and I did attend the meeting today and there were some great news of progress that is happening there around Mental Health in addition progress that is happening around the fundraising that is occurring to adopt it or not. But it support a senior for their senior graduation senior graduation activities so the report said that there was about $6,000 that were donated this far or seniors and individuals are individuals companies are welcome to donate to Culver City High School make sure you say senior activities in the attention the $6,000 came from local dealers in Culver City and I don't have the name I apologize thank you for our donors there was a report of where are most vulnerable students are out we currently have eight Foster youth 127 students on that are on house and then so that's one of the things that I wanted to talk about that that identify the these are individuals that that we continue to support and one good news is that through this collaboration with nonprofits and and organizations and locally one family has been able to receive affordable housing and a second space is opening up where they the family will be will be sending an application to see eligible and so I'm I'm really grateful for the work that is happening there with our most vulnerable students I am just going to stay briefly all the meetings that we have been attending as a I also in attendance earthfest at a time gone I attended the tri Celta meeting attended the coast to coast attended the West LA for opening climate change and I I want to say to all are my colleagues here that I mentioned that list because I recently list a Latina city council member speak about how to keep my balance especially during the May of month the man the month of May which talks about mental health and wellness and why the things that she talked about is to really identify your values your goals as an elected official and to say yes to the events that align with your values and say thank you and maybe pass on a few then so that we can remain strong and remain focus and our priorities and that we can continue to do the Great work that our students deserve and I want to say just briefly something about Coast to Coast Coast to Coast I I would have never imagined as a first born first to graduate Elementary in my family first to graduate high school first graduate undergrad versus graduate graduate school that I would ever be invited to Washington DC to advocate for money for our schools throughout California it was a great privilege and a great and and and a great honor to be there one thing that was not mentioned by board member that I do know is that we were also advocating maybe you did and I didn't hear it but I do want to stress one thing that we were advocating there we were there advocating for Esther funds to be more flexible and so that it helped the districts in California pain some of the new services that have been brought on with the SR funds in Culver City we will have a cliff if this flexibility is not offer of about 12 million dollars and it's important for us to think about that as we think about the future because that is one of the priorities of us as a board to think about the future and so I do want to say there is this very rude awakening when the extra funds are expired that we will have a 12 million dollar decrease in our budget so that was one of the things that we were advocating for at the federal level the work for advocacy is something that I again I learned on this trip that advocacy happens 365 days out of the Year and that there's so much work that needs to happen now that we're back home and we have a list of things that we will continue to do as a committee to continue to Advocate and ensure that we get the most amount of money for our students and our teachers and our staff so that we can have a thriving community I would like to at this point and my public comment and move to information items and we'll start with 5.2 enrollment report enrollment reports 5.2 oh yes absolutely thank you again we're between business efficiencies right now but I did have a question I see metallic on this something that you and I have spoken about before I noticed on the numbers Iona the transitional kindergarten is it 27 just because this is kind of my day job there is a state cap of 24 there and if we end the year with an average a10e school any sight of transitional K over 24 we're facing a penalty next year pretty significant my estimate based on the number of teekay students we have is about $150,000 so I know I've brought this up a cup what times and I'm curious if and you may not know but he may be in the position to answer this right now but if anyone is aware of us doing something so we don't face this penalty next year we've been discussing this and cabinet Foreman Grill so we're looking at the this year I'm I believe we have a couple of schools that are slightly over the 24 limit so we reevaluate in the cost of the not providing our Workforce or our future Workforce with the education that helps with the liberation of their circumstances right now so when we are waiting for these folks to give these folks this education that means that is one less cycle that they cannot get that job they want or one of my cycle that they cannot apply for citizenship and we cannot keep them from getting to the next point in their life we can really be a part of making our Unity of so much better by providing these services at the rate that the hunger is there so I really want us to push that forward if asleep when we are about our our future I would our facilities in the future so I just wanted to put that up there to help with enrollment there so my question is more about when we see a number such as the 27 that was brought up by the K by the way was really interesting Coast to Coast there was a strong suggestion for us to consider Early Education because the word transition May mean so many different things two we look to developing and giving more opportunity to our twenty-first-century Learners currently we have about 90% a through G completion rate specifically this board policy is delineating that as an expectation for all so that we are setting the standard for Cs and you see admission also we have been in deep consultation with our educational partners and asking the question and I'm meeting again at the high school with the team on Wednesday because we're asking now for how we can support our students in attaining this so that all of our students are college and career-ready whichever they choose so that that is the introduction we did catch a little Miss and that we left off. edits we need to add them when they go for second reader for action and and we will and then that and we're here to answer any of your questions thank you all right so this is a fairly if approved and if this goes for this is a fairly dramatic change in this is another one we're kind of like a board member loretto's input on the last one in my opinion this one might require more than just first read second reader because what it is is is it going to put up for the public is changing graduation requirements to bring them in line with you see in Cal State Cal State admissions requirements so that every graduate would be Cal State News eligible I did a fair amount of research on this because this is a big change there's been a fairly large shift over the last couple of years the last thing I was reading saying in about sixty 70% of schools have moved in this direction there's also a fair amount of of reporting out there that a lot of them moved to this and then had to cut it back off because they found that they didn't have the support structures in place to ensure that all students for success with this you can't just raise expectations without raising the scaffolding and support for that so I I would be I would want to hear much more about what we're doing to support students before I just get anywhere near an actual policy I know our high school counselors as you mentioned also had some concerns with this particular how this would affect students with IEPs and how it would affect English Learners and sell beyond the we're going to support our students I would want to hear more about how we're going to support those two populations in general and to continue to listen to the concerns of the high school counselors who work with students every day on this I've got some specific kind of just thoughts on some of the language that I go through but like I said I would also want to know about folks I want to hear from before this not just the councillors I think we should hear from the community on this and do some Outreach into the community to find out what the community's feelings are on this as well as reach at the high school students and not necessarily the high school students who are already on the a through G track but the students who would be not impacted because there's a later start date on this but that population of students who may not be a through G eligible at the moment and how would you feel about if we suddenly changed the graduation requirements and made it harder for you to graduate you know because they're there is a population of students out there who is not interested in going to CAL States or the uci's extra one of the end of the modifications that I ran across was an opt-out option for students who are going knew they were going to trade schools knew they were going to some other program other than you see your Cal State some type of flexibility that doesn't assume that every single student is doing that path but some specific comments in the first paragraph in the underlined language the new language both College and Career Readiness which are California Department of Education Dash College and Career Readiness indicators I don't personally appreciate that Edition about the College and Career Readiness indicators because I don't think we do this because of Any indicator dashboard if we do this it is because it's good for our students and I don't personally care how it reflects on the dashboard like the first sentence of the underlined part on page one yeah first paragraph so if I were to rewrite that it would you know just pick me up the end of the second line increases their opportunities both College and Career Readiness. And dropped a bit about that the indicators because we're not doing this for show down in a course requirements the kind of second chunk it talks about soon to the D Minor soar above earn credits towards graduation at the real questions about that do we at least allow students to receive graduation credit for a class with a D minus so that is that so that's current policy cuz that was another one of the critiques reading the research on this because you got a student with a D in a class are you really having to be you seen Cal State eligible so get some questions about that but I'd like to hear more about on I appreciate that would be beginning with the class of 2027 so that would be next year's freshman is not a good things going to impact everybody turning around number to down below it says 30 semester units in mathematics including Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 has refused I know one of the big concerns folks have out there it says or equivalent courses so I'd like to hear a little bit more about what equivalent courses do we offer what other equivalent courses are options because that might provide an Avenue for some of the students for whom Algebra 2 is a teddy bear and I don't know if you also that language is in there so it's two part it's it is our courses but it's also an students to transfer in or maybe who were in advance math and who might not take algebra algebra 2 in high school cuz they've already taken it or test it out and then done different things so that language is in there to part and as we continue to build out the mass sequence we can come back and I'm sure more options with you in particular seems to be a pinpoint in this whole process and if that's actually required or if there is an alternative that students can take that might be easier no not easier but just more appropriate for a different kids trajectories then at the top of the next page I think this one may just be a typo or just something we need to change it talks about the show not exempt a student from there something to mathematics courses in grades 9 through 12 I can get you beat 3 because we're now expecting three If This Were to go through then on page or we got to a new section course requirements state minimum diploma requirements in number to this is the front for students who are on house military families is a group of kids who are specifically entitled to be able to use a lower graduation requirement in number to second paragraph last line with his students and their requirement to complete three mathematics I think that was actually supposed to be too and then just reading for the flow of this we go from what our expectations would be to all of a sudden describing with the minimum course is but after this there's a section of defining who qualifies for that minimum course I think it would probably read more logically if you said who qualified for the minimum course and then put what that minimum course was after it because this way you just going to go straight into this other set requirements you don't really know who it's for supporting that after that so those are just some kind of ticky tacky spots on it but again I do hope we can I hope we don't see this on the next meeting agenda for second reading approval I think this is a big change that requires some some pretty substantial Community input and some input from you don't from an equity lens from an academic lens you know anytime you up the graduation requirements that means a certain group of students now have one more prior to graduation thank you thank you so much for president I really think board member Guerrero hit that one on the now I'm just going to die. so what can I buy to say I'm and I don't remember if mr. A board member whatever okay so I don't I want to try to not not repeat things one thing that I know it's a huge change for a public to know is the part where you are adding the what page is 1 2 3 4 the criteria for the a 130 credits because I think that this was definitely a new thing for no start the special population language yet is a coat and it's been in our board that's why it's not underlined or bold it is already it is because it is beginning with the school year Daddy that is pain can I can you be released Pacific War the state minimum diploma requirements that's a new thing that allowed the state allows us to do because I'm sorry I'm getting this from so we spoke at the I thought I had clarification on this from you at the altamed I just wanted to clarify that that was because that was a change that we saw at the state that you added that that is in our current board policy cuz if you see if you see below this is what I believe Mister Guerrero or number Guerrero was referring to the 512 2.1 it's just spelled out a little bit differently at the top because moved it and that's why it's bold and underlined but that's been it at code prior to my tenure am I does that line up with what I know director Montes is on the call but 5122 5.3 is new to this year right because such as in the beginning of 2223 saying the same thing but in different ways I need to also ask you because maybe we I need some clarification on this but as far as we know as far as I know we don't have like a curriculum committee right like so we would do it depends so specifically for the recent social studies adoption that's fine you are action item there's a huge process that is aligned with the state that we go through so it looks different at each level because we're 01 District High School and their ones Ash Creek Middle School we do do things by department and then with a curriculum city with the curriculum and instruction assistant principal and then the director of teaching and learning and then I get involved when it's at the high school level at the elementary level with the recent social studies adoption in which we can talk about that process when we get there but there are ways in which we vet curriculum and we get input from everyone okay so sure so would you like to know like the process for likes who plays adoption right now okay sure so for example what happens is the state this is Elementary goes through like six grade level offense there are some listed curricula and make it a secondary to that the state board of education has approved that are Williams compliant and that are aligned and I seen a nod from board member Guerrero that are up for adoption that we can adopt that's different than supplemental materials in there with the social studies committee he had a cross we had a very integrated team which vetted on ADI line Rupert we were in consultation with the GI department to look at and score all of the materials out there in the sea witch when we would bring to the district or Pilot and four before pilot that we go to professional development there's a training session there's than piloting there's a valuation the teachers come together regularly learn a little more evaluate the social studies materials there then posted most recently these were posted at the TCI materials that are up for Action tonight or posted for public hearing April 2nd there's a there's a flyer that goes out in the newspaper that has to be released because it's public hearing the materials are on display many I'm sure you saw them as you visited there were TCI materials here for the public have you so that we make sure we had the best representation there was a final evaluation of materials of which he see I came out ahead and then materials go up for or approval and so we have all of those they work the materials went through final evaluation five criteria that are District Library Mister Romo organized for all of us did I answer that process question this is what I'm understanding from you depending on the department that it falls the path May manifest itself differently or the love it in the level feel like it's secondary for example when they go to adopt because they don't have the same requirements I'll say it that they Ventress the materials that are publisher or adopted they work with the District Library in as a team that evaluated Cheerios he has a robust rubric mr. Romo The District Library in they go through that materials cuz we're also working through this process with Spanish language arts adopt materials and we are also working with the Comprehensive Health curriculum so there are we go through a very vetted process that has rubrics attached and data but let me bring it After High School and you know so when I go when I go through the handbook where the curriculum manual it's not called that but the curriculum material to choose courses every year with my students there's a full chart right there's like a pathway for all the levels is not a good way to put it so please don't there's a recommended course yes there's some recommended for secret thank you and what I'm when I look at this and I see something like you know I'm let's let's bring the first example 20 semester credits in physical education all I know that he credits you said but in my mind especially when we're looking at and which is come play dance like we're saying okay we are proving dance one but like are we double-dipping dance or are like what what what's happening like what what's half there were like do we need to put like is there something that we need to put out here that says we are going to align our sequences so that it makes more sense that olives like when you're going with dance throughout again I haven't seen all of the dance whatever's I've only seen the one that is is here now are they all going to count towards PE are they like what like are they all going to be a through G are they all going to be empty AAA online like how does that's why I feel like that part is missing from and I don't expect all of that to be here but how do we how do we create the the area where we seeing all the all those things come together holistically so they're happening in Tandem and we are not the program but actually together meeting that meaning of Tandem we are doing these things to make sure the course is dances up for your consideration for an action item to date was missing PE and was missing items that needed to have and it was affording students not as much flexibility so it's just an improvement it's just a small tweak in order to give students who want to take dance for PE credit or for our you know to give them more options and so as we come across these things and as we continue to hone in and improve options for students that's all it is the Windex when that does change when that score sequins changes do all of them need to come to us for those changes or will are those Amendment those kinds of amendments or things that like Kara behind the scenes if it's something like adding PE credit and needs to go to to all of you unless it's something we can sign off because there's a dead toad in terms of it as an exception so as we are coming across items we are bringing them up to also if you'll notice that the alignment is more tweet to grading for Equity is more of a Mastery base model rather than a one-time assessment we are trying to continue to store up items okay thank you for that. I want to make sure that it cuz I think I heard something from earlier about you know if you you would see isn't for everyone and I think that is true however it's not about making sure that all our students are eligible specifically for UC and CSU and and you know that kind of this kind of gold doesn't start just with the high school it starts in early earlier in their education what the point of the a through G is to make sure that our students have a well-rounded base of education and not all of them are going to have a grade that is or y'all have a have a transcript that is UCCS you going at that point I'll not all of them but I completely plus one I think everything that the the board as to which was versed about a from the sagrera about Scott nothing because we can change things but if we're not providing scaffolding and interventions in a and braiding for Equity we are not doing we are not providing kind of education that addresses the whole student and really that's the culture of care that we need to provide at our schools you know the opportunity and so I will also go back to my Quest when we did the continuing ed special meeting where we are periodically given a report or the you know about lagging students who are in need of credit recovery and inner and or intervention so that we can see how we're doing as we're in the mile markers that we have as we are moving forward if we're going to put forth policies and placed a better dinner intentional interventions and meeting them where they are and that includes making sure that they can participate in tivities about their mental health and identity are validated at so and making sure that they can have more easily attainable ways to get interventions because I'm hearing students to just are not feel like they're not being treated fairly just with rounding like something if a grade just needs to be rounded or if they are making like efforts for Mastery and the teacher may not they may feel like a bias from the future that they're not working with them for Mastery it just it just breaks my heart to hear stories like that because if you know they were just treated with the end of humanity that like gave them some kind of intervention beforehand we wouldn't be in the predicament of saying like we've failed the student because they're short like whatever credits that they're short again I reiterate we need to be happy reporting of the number of students disaggregated who are 54 interventions in the high school I also want to ask that we review other districts up or policies that our colleagues across LA County I'm have done because they're I I know for a fact that in my other in apa and up his mama and other places where I have interacted with other school board with other trustees that I'll do it with a chair to put forth these policies they you know works with all the stakeholders involved to move that Needle and to get to where they're seeing more success because they have a line days were Jeep but again doesn't happen without the scaffold without the support and without us meeting them for they are and I cuz I really want to get into a place where we are having a culture that does not demean our students when they are asking for help or when they do or or Destiny in them but like make sure that the culture is that they almost don't need to ask for help because they are being flagged for it as well in case they have been treated with bias in the past that makes them feel like they cannot ask for help so I will us to move forward in the end. Kind of culture in the district so thank you so much thank you I will try to have as many of these answers as possible next time and if I miss any of them please remind me thank you so much I think I'm going to be quick but okay so I was looking at the trying to find the board calendar to discuss to the calendar to see if there is a plan study session on a through G data is that something that you are planning can so it's not on the on the plan yet so when we was talking about we need to do some community building and reach out got a format that you were thinking or was it a different format honestly also get the research with you you're My Brown-Eyed buddy on this issue IHOP on this subject the research largely supports moving to a through G for all students with the caveat if implemented and supported well and I'm really wanting to make sure we don't stumble and some of the pitfalls we did with College Prep English where we did something I didn't necessarily have all the supports in place and did not necessarily have the interaction with the community and place you know and did not know I talked to everybody we needed to talk to so that we had full support going forward with a fairly big change and this is definitely a big change so I'm totally fine if you don't have the answers next time I mean I think we should take our time desk and make sure that we have identified what are all of our scaffolds and sports how will we make sure that students can you know be flagged early or effortlessly move in to support and things like that definitely think we should have some some community and profession to whether that's part of a study session or going out to the high school because we are just talking about a single site here so we could go out to the high school and have an afternoon where we invite parents come in and share their opinions on this way we do something during lunch and offers students to come in and give their opinion on this I'd like but actually just listening sessions where we maybe spend five 10 minutes and say this is the idea the rest of the time is yours not where we talked for 45 minutes and say anything at a time have a good day yeah but we're were genuinely listening and identifying what some of the the needs are with some of the concerns are and and adapting our plan based on those and so maybe the Board needs to study session and maybe we need a listening session at the site where we invite students teachers staff parents to participate and probably it may sound like it's a different the different setting right so maybe it's something during the day for for student something after school for teachers and then something for the parents in the evening so I appreciate the consideration of that I would that I definitely support that and there is I guess it's another question for remember but I do if we want to bring this a r May 9th do do these these things are not going to happen May 9th so we can improve the policy or we can review the not approve of have has a second reading and May 9th is that what we're thinking or should we have study session then review the AR what would he look at at the second reading on May 9th just changes in in words but that sounds more to me like a study session than a second review there were some fundamental kind of do you know kind of changes if I should leave it and then and then also I mean so we could just do that at a different time and between have a study session it's really up to it we can agendize and however you like I would prefer for I would prefer for us if there's grammar were moving things to review and May 9 and then have the study session this way it doesn't get so lost later on and I think that this is really important and we really need to ensure that we take the proper steps when I roll out I recommend the May 9th second review for the grammar additions edits things like that and then we at that time if you can please have an update that you are comfortable to do a study session so May 9th AR review with a study session date so this is going to be an information item it's a board policy second reading and that it can be action upon third reading thank you and then I I'm good I'm going to clarify what it what is the best way to calendar study session with the board do I go through Miss Williams I send somebody my calendar Lee what what's the best good question when you get the insert can you let us know the recommendation is to do this with superintendent fan and I would like to invite my colleagues to please all great the need for the study session in between the May 9th meeting and the next board meeting in their one-on-ones with him do the and I'm just going to paraphrase bored by lot which is the agenda is set by the superintendent and the president so you can always request superintendent CC the president to I also welcome board members to read that barred by law so that you understand how to adjust dies that fridge and Ice thing but that it's a paraphrase basically superintendent and president thank you okay the the thing that I would like to see at the study session is this or sequence or the the the different Pathways for students do a student that is college ready a student student that is we are ready I don't know if this AR needs that have the career ready indicators but there's like nine of them and I think that if we are saying hey everybody is going to be we're going to get a through G and career-ready is this work career-ready indicators are explicitly outline I don't know but there needs to be explicitly outline because we do not anywhere say what how can you get to Career ready so that new board members understand that you know the community understands that are counselors understand that in writing perhaps we could attach that it for support as it would appear in the course handbook for that pastinas we absolutely can do that though to kind of make it more Visual and I think I've seen websites that really have a line these course sequence what's your fear or your fear or you can be both it's harder right like for example my my daughter couldn't finish the careers in octe pathway because it was she needed to she ran out of units basically in time but at the same time she could have if she would have had it early enough done it earlier and I think that's important for us 222 what if this is our goal a through G and career-ready that that we need to marry those so that they come hand-in-hand this is confusing me can I ask you a question about your so my understanding is we're shooting for College and Career ready for everyone and then we're doing that through a through G for all as one as one so I don't I don't interpret that as two streams I interpret that as we're creating one stream that's the whole point and so that that right there so it's not going to be like you're here it's like you can take this these courses and graduate and you can take these courses and graduate maybe perhaps as we continue to talk through it and I bring more support I can bring what that might look like soap because of the primary question I heard the College and Career preparedness indicators and so we can bring that as like a supplemental Edition because if students go through with this these new proposed graduation requirements they will they say well yes that's it thank you so there are many routes to get to CCR and a through G actually is not the only one we are using it as a way to propel ourselves towards CCR 4 of 100% and that the CCR has nine foundational core areas and in and I think that it's very clear and this is why we did not want to say pathway because it's not a pathway not this. Where that pathway is like horse Rick sequences that you could take to to get there okay and is there a deadline for this graduation requirement to be approved this AR the other thing that's coming up is that this is a board policy but some of the or asking for may appear in the AR like the CCR 90° so those we could see a supplements to enrich our discussion but they probably live in the administrative regulation and that will come in a later date we can do all of us things okay remember I know I know you want me to acknowledge you at I do just want to say can I first get the answer from dr. Baxter cuz I asked a question and I can you repeat the question stepped in after the question the question is do we have a deadline it is approved like is there a high school deadlines that they need something so that they can submit and get yeah that's a great question the sooner this not that were in a rush or Not that we're going to hurry the process along but this the class of 2027 knows and can plan then there they might be planning summer course work so that's the hard answer so so this is just to get them ready so class of 27 diesel 7th graders through 8th graders and the counselors the counselors at the 8th grade family night shared likely this is what it's going to be likely so it is out there okay okay so we we need to do some work on this stuff and then okay Miss Laredo I don't know whether this goes without saying but I think she said she got there supporting documents that maybe when this comes back around you can add in for our public to also see because it is very difficult for us for our like to find our board policies could they can't search for it like an unlike we can write so if you can put in as many supporting documents that identify a domestic on our had to do with this I have a couple of kind of implementation concerns once we get to the end of their floors so looking at the last page now therefore be it resolved mental health literacy is a cord location a component of PK 12 students every year to promote both principal and practice in developing and maintaining a healthy mental state I think we already do that excellent second one therefore be at resolved to Culver City Unified School District mandates Tier 1 compulsory and comp T K to 12 mental health literacy standards what is that the goal hello so that is the goal is to actually have standards comprehensive PK to 12th grade literacy standards that are implemented where are those standards coming from so if you see the next statement it would be the desert if you see that right after that Mr Guerrero directions to committee to create the mental health literacy curriculum action plan by June 2023 to operationalize it so that committee hopefully Pokey gather with internal and external professionals we have been in communication with an Emmys team that you solved that presented before has ideas about positions being part of it looking we met with our Mental Health Counselors also being part of it and so pulling together everything we can to identify create those standards so I have a little bit of a concern about that and that talking about mental health and you know things that people get medical degrees at a doctors and then things like that and that weird pulling together a set of Standards by June so I've I'm a little concerned about us creating a set of mental health standards I would feel much more comfortable if there were a set of Mental Health and it's out there you know American Psychological Association of school psychologists or something like that that we were drawing from rather than creating a set and then making that a graduation requirement would it perhaps you're considering the capsules yes which are elaborative social emotional learning there are enough course not the page that I have right in front of me I can pull it up it's on that California and just interrupt me when you're ready okay did you were you able to find it sorry just trying to what what is that this may be a three-layer kind of a answer we did talk about broadly identify and quickly protocols and practices immediately that could be deployed in the month of August when the students returning at the same time taking the time to develop long-term course work with requirement and how that would fit into the graduation requirement process so that has to be two sets of action one of those would be addressing short-term needs immediately and the other is actually to take the time to look at the research out there the vegetable standards already developed something that we can bring you in and be thoughtful and and and I'm going to say going deep and slowly to distracted and having open conversation because once we put that into the graduation requirement there's a lot of that goes shame back in for something coming in there that means something else have to do something about it so I think intention is that as we move forward to operationalize this we would tear out the immediate needs that require attention as well as a permanent solution that can build into graduation requirement and I'll take that conversation back with h d i system and her team to go to carry that out okay because I am updating the social studies standards takes 5 years I'm a little bit skeptical about our capacity to create a set of mental health standards you know if we can find something out there that we used as guideline I think that's a lot more reassuring to me but but I don't know that we have the expertise to create something like that the other part of it too is June of 2020 free and starting 23-24 again long-term short-term I think we could probably have something in place next year but I would much rather see us go slow and do a good job with this Stan put out something kind of half finished next year which gets to my last thought on this is kind of something the same thing that we brought up with a through G absolutely think this is vital absolutely think every student should be exposed to this and and you know it's something that we need to offer students in the big picture since we make it a graduation requirement there's some student out there that doesn't graduate because we have made this a requirement and so there is awaiting has to be done about this is important something we need to have for every student are we really going to prevent somebody from graduating if they don't match to this would you would you already about like I said there are immediate needs and we need to address and then long-term actual changes that we have to be carefully plotted and time light out so we will come back with a more detailed plan how this would look like okay thank you thank you board member acid or no I'm unclear about the role of that link in there it leads to a login screen it's not my impression that the board has seen are used to survey data yet and I wonder is the intention for that data to be public is that why the link is in there I'm going to have to check with dr. Smith hopefully we can get some questions the next time I mean these answers the next time we see this and then also we we heard from our office of Child Development educator last week about adding preschool to this document I don't know if he still has the preschool part of their framework I don't know if I could get that answered right this moment but I would to I'm just a amplifier that request that we add preschool into here thank you thank you for the number. I don't so I just want to remind I think they've been good questions but I just want to remind ourselves about why this is important and it's not so much important in terms of we need to make sure that there is no Mastery for curriculum and being a being a part of our high school graduation requirements the importance here is to make sure that we have healthy students that are treating well being as you know something that is number one so that we have whole students and the that we have better health outcomes throughout our community. give me what I hear the cry to be from our from our surveys and especially from the students that came and gave personal testimony in front of us and so I don't install what I feel that is missing from this document is really in and what spoke to me so much in terms of Dar when we out to establish are black families Council in our black family are black student achievements resolution is that we need to make sure that we also I would like us to formally create some kind of medical advisory from from medical doesn't necessarily have to be doctors but it would be good if there was one doctor on there it's some kind of Health advisory excuse not a medical advisory a health advisory for our district and so when I look back on say you know be opening at and on and looking forward to this you know and and there have been individuals in the community that have told me in the past that they are willing to step up in this way and they are free different disciplines whether it's medicine or whether it's psychology whether it's you know therapy whether it's counseling like I think that's all we need to have some professionals at 2 Rose a concern also chiming in on the curriculum now when I saw this tier one thing I do know instantaneously I was just like yes this is a thing like and when you go to my school Mental Health. Org there is and this is also this coming from you know Maryland but mental health promotion services and supports its your wife like it's it there's a quality guy there that have some of the stuff from Castle that were talking about and I thought that this is what that references but it would be great if we can get some clarity around that or if it's saying like you know starting with X Y and Z weather at the school Mental Health. Org Tier 1 Quality guy or its castle like that we are calling out you know at whatever our starting point is especially for our public and then build from there and say that we are possibly getting the creating some kind of advice around this I think that some of the trip from what I understand some of the trepidation about this is because we are first in the nation we should be really relying on professional to creative curriculum because we do have Educators that no like a week at like you know we get a little bit of curriculum in 7th and great about you no signs of suicide and what to look out for but like when we're creating something that is you don't have that at in in for our Panthers for our middle schoolers that comes into a pod lesson so it's not as if like they're getting graded on it which is which I admit is different getting a grade on it is different from actually delivering like whatever we thought was compulsory information before about like oh you need to watch out for the sides of suicide but really it's not about grading them it's about making sure that we deliver the message that they are whole they are completely validate what your feelings are and we want to make sure that you were having helping out come so I want to look to the wards that goal of having healthy outcome and not be and it will be great if yes you know we're making it a curriculum but you know somehow we need to tie it to getting better health outcomes and that will also tie into the success and achievement the student achievement of our students because they are healthier and they're better able to learn the other academics that that they need to be college and career-ready thank you okay thank you so much I first want to say it's really really important that this is coming before us I am I have not formulated my thought if this needs to be art of the graduation requirement or not on the one hand it could save somebody's life going through this curriculum regardless of whether they got an F or nay and and I think that that's why I would want for it to be a requirement and so that the students are exposed to it regardless of whether they choose to or not like a required class not for them to get an A and or an  and not be able to graduate that's not the goal but the goal for me is it could save somebody's life and I'm going to Echo former president Levin the said I too hope to not lose a child to suicide in my term as it on this board a 10 and I and you don't unfortunately we have had those tragedies in our district and we need to be very Constable responsive to our students who said hey we need this and and we need to do everything that we can to get it going and right now we just reviewed board policy 61 46.1 which is the high school graduation requirements it has no mention of mental health curriculum and I think that these two these two policies are moving together these two resolutions are moving together then they need to be they need to be they need to reference each other so right now the mental health resolution mentions it as a high school graduation but the high school graduation requirements but the AR does not the AR for high school does not mention the mental health and I think that if this is the goal then that's a good step to start right dr. Baxter and are you just up then okay look for csb a language in precedence on that to see how they might be woven in with that be I'll look and see that their perspectives in possibility we can look in some courses at the even at the University level is the deeper where this is what they going for is not necessary mastering so there's more conversation about making sure that our suits have to have the opportunity to address some of these concerns are that they can sell monitor you know how we reach out before Things become too tight and too overwhelmed and so they're there is a the way that we can move forward and I'm going to be fully supporting outside to go deeper than just simply abcdf that there is a way that we can address and if if looking at the castle program guide and I have not checked but if you look at the elemental stage it starts as early as Pre-K and it goes all the way through High School so if this is and it looks like you can have did you know there is like freestanding lessons already and if what I love of a castle is that it identify student characteristics in their lessons so for example if you pick a lesson on adventures on board what is call if it does say like hey this helps students who are Asian and Hispanic and low-income and and or you can pick something that's that is for certain characters black African-American so I think that I'm grateful that you're looking into Castle because it may seem like a great way for us to improve academic achievement and to have some Taylor lessons that can help are very diverse school district and that it takes that into account in there and their lessons I think that that's all I want to say just that I really support this moving not so slowly and more more fast and I do support a starting as early as we and that we think about how to have a district-wide not just the high school mental health curriculum moving us along to well we have a 5.5 and which is sorry we just finished 5.5 I wanted to ask if we need a break yes okay and then the second thing I wanted to ask is we have someone in the audience and I feel terribly guilty can we move that agenda item up front the break Define I got one I believe 10.2 can be moved
