The Board of Education of Culver City Unified School District is seeking one qualified, interested individual to serve on a committee of community leaders currently serving as the independent Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee (“CBOC”) for the District’s Measure CC school facilities bond program.
Proposition 39 Bond Election
On June 3, 2014, voters residing within Culver City Unified School District passed Measure CC. Measure CC is a $106 million bond measure that authorizes funding for needed repairs, upgrades, and new construction projects to the District’s schools. Proposition 39 required a 55% super majority for approval; Measure CC was passed by 76.17%.
Establishment of a Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee
After a bond authorized under Proposition 39 is passed, State law requires that the Culver City Unified School District Board of Education appoint a Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee to work with the District.
In accordance with Education Code Section 15278(b), the Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee shall:
- Inform the public concerning the District's expenditure of Measure CC bond proceeds;
- Review expenditure reports produced by the District to ensure that Measure CC bond proceeds were expended only for the purposes set forth in Measure CC; and
- Present to the Board of Education in public session, an annual written report outlining their activities and conclusions regarding the expenditure of Measure CC bond proceeds.

Appointment of Committee Members
The appointments will be made by the Board of Education from applications submitted to the District.
Time Commitment and Term
The appointees will serve from the date of appointment until October 31, 2021, and will be eligible for reappointment by the Board of Education for a second and third two-year term.
