The Culver City Council of Parent Teacher Associations (CCCPTA) works to promote the interests of our Culver City kids and families. We also bring PTA programs like Red Ribbon Week and Reflections
to our local schools. Along with opportunities for schools and members to apply for Grants and Awards
CCCPTA supports our local PTA/PTSA units in the mechanics of running a large, dynamic organization, so that they can focus on the needs of the students at their school sites, creating events and raising money for field trips, equipment, planners, garden and nutrition programs, library books, special assemblies and countless other items.
Council PTA also links the local units to the California State PTA and the National PTA. Known for its site based fundraising, events and programs benefiting children at schools across the nation, PTA is the nation’s largest and most powerful children’s advocacy group. When you join a PTA unit, you are not only helping the students at that school, you are strengthening PTA’s ability to advocate for children and families at the local, state and national levels.
Members of Culver City PTA units can learn to be effective advocates while finding out about current issues in education and child welfare by joining Culver City Council PTA’s Sacramento Safari
delegation. We’ll be in Sacramento from Tuesday, February 21 thru Thursday, February 23, 2017. For more information, contact CCCPTA 2nd VP, Judith Martin-Straw firstname.lastname@example.org
CCCPTA sponsors the Backpack for Kids
program that enables CCUSD students who would otherwise not have enough to eat on weekends to take a backpack filled with food home with them every Friday of the school year. As of November 2016, 0ver 100 backpacks were being filled every week. You can donate to Backpacks for Kids simply by sending a check to CCCPTA and noting in the memo section that the contribution is for the Backpack program, or if you'd like to pay online, click here: PayPal
Culver City Council PTA has representative membership from all CCUSD elementary and secondary PTA/PTSA units. CCCPTA is a proud signatory to The Culver Compact
— a public declaration of our community’s shared commitment to our kids.
Become a PTA member. Consider putting your skills to work enriching the lives of our students. While no PTA volunteers (not even officers) receive any monetary compensation for the time and effort they expend on behalf of our children— they see the faces of students engaged in activities that their PTA work made possible, and that’s priceless. Contact the PTA president at your local school or simply click on the link to our Community Membership form to join today!
