Safety and Inclusion of LGBTQ+ Homepage

The Mission of the CCUSD, a diverse haven of excellence, is to ensure that each student, possesses the academic and personal skills necessary to achieve their highest potential as a valued, responsible member of society by providing challenging, personalized educational experiences in a safe, nurturing environment. This is inclusive of our LGBTQ+ students.   In CCUSD, many of our core beliefs include that each person deserves to be safe and everyone deserves to be treated with respect. We honor diversity and everyone’s right to be treated with dignity.

Terminology:

Understanding new terminology can be a challenge. To help our staff and parents/guardians understand common terms related to LGBTQ+ individuals, take a look at definitions from the National PTA here. There are also helpful terms and definitions here as part of the California School Board Association Policy Brief on Providing a Safe, Nondiscriminatory School Environments for Transgender and Gender Nonconforming Students.
