Gate and Academics

Academics

CCUSD strives to accommodate the academic needs of every child. The formal GATE program begins in 4th grade. For 4th and 5th grades, GATE students are clustered with a GATE teacher who has gone through depth and complexity training. Differentiation occurs in all classrooms, so high achieving students are also accommodated. Beginning in middle school, there are multiple academic pathways that GATE identified and high achieving students can pursue. Below is a sampling of academic options offered.
