In CERT in Action, a fierce storm has struck the local community. CERT members activate in their neighborhood, set up an Incident Command Post and assess damage throughout the area. They use their CERT skills to respond to damage and injured victims in the local community center, managing the situation until professional responders are able to arrive. This video provides a useful introduction to the CERT concept for new program participants and others who may be interested in the program. This video will also support the material presented in the CERT Basic Training course Unit 6: CERT Organization. CERT trainers will be able to use the video to start a dialogue about CERTs use of ICS and other critical features of successful team operations.

communities are susceptible to many types of disasters what's up such as floods earthquakes tornadoes and hurricanes are natural While others such as nuclear power plant disasters and hazardous material I've been me  some parts of the country will experience disasters that others will never see like mudslides winter storms volcanoes While others like flooding or wind storms can strike most Dennings  when disaster strikes Emergency Services Personnel will respond immediately we count on their training and equipment to handle these situations however depending on the impact emergent responders may not be able to quickly get to everyone who needs help that's where Community emergency response teams come in star train to search for and rescue people who might be trapped to provide basic medical assistance to put out small fires and the handle other small incidents for more injuries or damage your car by using the skills and knowledge they learned in training certain members in a neighborhood workplace School their location can work as a team to help themselves and others until professional help arrives that's what search is all about making a difference when it is needed the most we call it doing the greatest good for the greatest number 4 hours how's the storm hook how do you check the lights nothing how's everybody who's scared I know honey it's going to be alright ceiling damage and the other was locked we can't get in we got eight victims and triage two medians of already called in but we've also got three delayed and 3 - I'll take care of it there now I got these forms for you glad you guys are here Community emergency response team members are trained to help themselves and others after a disaster until professional help arrives shirts work together providing basic medical assistance putting out small fires searching for rescuing people who are trapped acting as the eyes and ears for professional responders by doing the greatest good for the greatest number they make a Prince when it is needed the most
