Do you want to introduce yourself again. I am Kendra I have a kindergartener and a third grader at El Rincon and a sixth grader is he's a mess but we're here to represent the green ambassadors at Bell ringtone excellent Greg busy I think recycle to riches Ashley High hello hi I'm Ashley I'm with recycle the riches introduced to this committee and thank you for having me singeing again so happy to always get those emails and still be connected but this is like one of the few times I got to join so thank you for having me and excited to listen thank you for joining us it's been a minute Ashley Augustine do you want to introduce yourself and what school year with I'm actually Augustine I work at with our culture connection Unified School District I work with the 18 to 22 year olds students that have received special education services and we do all dolt transition working on home scale life skills and work Rick and Morty Steals and a variety of other things that's great thank you Ashley Oscar hi Oscar Rodriguez assistant principal that are Culver City High School thank you this is phone number for 55413 if you have a chance to unmute but maybe you're driving or okay I'm Caitlin hi everyone sorry my cameras off will be on shortly my name's Caitlin Carrera time president of ASP on the high school thank you for joining us High really I am ready. I am the vice-president of a street at the SEC West excellent thanks for joining us David Holley do you introduce yourself and this wonderful and Catherine I don't know if you're back and we have Greg cruise on another call and Batiste from El Rincon alright well thanks for joining us today we in the last week's we decided to do America recycles or to celebrate America recycles day which is the national day on recycling on November 1530 year and to make it a week of events sweet we love to transform things like that we've done our Earth Day for the for the last two years and it's Earth week Earth Fest week actually so and doing that in the future so keep that on your calendars but so I know this is been sort of last-minute and but we thought it was a great opportunity to look at what we're doing in our schools and now that we're back in school we all know the struggles we have with recycling on the premises and so I wanted to bring some more awareness around this day and so we contacted all of the schools have Aaliyah's on helps us our committee the environmental sustainability committee and they have been working at different Paces on different things for next week and I just wanted to get everyone together to talk about it and see how we can together what kind of support you need just a quick update so we are working with Administration on a new waste system we are the azaan ordered some extra recycle composting bins are being ordered this week and so everything isn't going to be in place for next week but the idea is to have the bins in place and then Mike gorgen is going to order three colored liners are going to be key in fixing the system for the custodian so that when you know students through when people put it in the blue liner that blue liner will then go into the blue dumpster with the city and so and so the the biggest part I think is the educational Park which is continual and I I just made I was happy I went with Ashley last week with the workability students and train them on how to sort and then took advantage of that time to actually make a little video and I can send it to all of you if you haven't received it yet but you can use that video to help train parent student whoever you want at you know it's just me so I apologize cuz I'm I'm not and I need anyone fancy but the idea was to take a tray from the school with a sample of different items and show you where to put them in the freezer so anyway I want to open this up to what you guys are doing and your schools and how we can help Caroline that is working with me on this and you know if I forget anything she he's always my she's always really good at figuring things out so I'm just anyone want to share what they're trying to do next week or if you have a plan yet or and you I could start so the El Rincon had their first green Ambassador meeting last week it was a huge success the kids seemed very excited on which was great and we kind of recycled all the whatever we did two years ago I'm where we made the poster about recycling trash and then compost and so we introduced compost this year the first lesson which we have done in the past but since we're going to roll is out next week we thought we should at least get the kids exposed but then we are going around and making sure that the trash cans are in order which they aren't usually right so I have to rearrange and kind of get that set in place and that's kind of where we're going trying to get the the trash cans set the compost set and Veronica is really doing most this but I help when I can that's great we did order some beans for you and I think Caroline do all of the schools have the posters that we printed last year normally did everybody confirm that they picked it up so I don't know if they have display it yet especially my question goes for the high school cuz they've had it for a long time and TPMS but the other one is much less posters so I don't think it's big job to do but I don't live there someone from the high school here in best committee a ton of everyone in Sp so they have sent out all the posters to every single teacher at the high school they were placed in their mailboxes with instructions on how to hang them on the main concern was there wasn't enough command strip so we just have to order some those but we got them and they should be out o That's great so mister I'm sorry I'm forgetting his name right now the sort of teacher that what's his name doctor Valverde doctor Valverde did he help pay for those strips I believe it came out of the activities fun yes okay well thank you for doing that and that's great work and then I don't know if there's a way to verify you did you know what teachers needed them more we just place them in every single teacher mailbox because we thought that the best way not to disrupt like classes cuz we have had like complaints in the past about that so I believe we put in every mailbox but we can also send out an email out to all teachers just a reminder okay what about Sissy a mess because I know I think I had given both of them to you guys and there were probably 50 that were supposed to be for 6 p.m. as I have you give you those were those are delivered to see stamina I believe they put it in the office they contacted someone for the office and they said something about the old man so okay and then do you know Caitlin for the high school I was hoping with I've talked to Mia BC our club and I think I sent a couple emails hoping that you you know the clubs would help next week with sorting at the station so that you know we can work this event are you able to mobilize volunteers during lunch time to help with that yeah I can send out the link to the club leaders then they can send it out to their members but what like specifically will baby do not know their history trash but I think people are a little confused on like where we should meet what we should do and like what that's why we're talking today also. facilitated by the idea Caroline maybe you could put the link for the volunteer our document that you created so for each School wait we have this Google doc with volunteer that you can fill out volunteer times and you can create stations you know I know we don't have a ton of time but we still have several days to work on this but the idea would be to you know one or two students at each station at the cafeteria during kept your time and maybe they need to watch the video that I did to figure out like to know how to sort I could try to come to a SB yeah and also train you guys if you wanted this week but otherwise the video maybe Caroline can you also give us the video links from our page this Google Drive doc here if you want to click on it it has just it's a blank document for you to use so I don't know if anyone has used it I know Jeff you mentioned kind of copy-pasting it and using every are you are you doing anything at the middle school do you know the Chili's that's the thing like I don't really know yet so weak we have to figure out how we're going to approach next week Raley's awesome part of the CCMS is the SV sorry but we we are not prepared for this little bit of something where we are off today ask him gobble games next week and Amy's for Panthers I think your patients or something like that so what we can do you mean the other event at the middle school I think he's working on on that most likely will go through the school office with the Batman and councillors and more it might just be a say something like we can use our homeroom time which we have something every every Monday so we can send send that out and and we'll just have to coordinate how that will look or like lunch activities I'm on I want things are happening but we probably won't have a lot of student involvement and we thought about it like 3 weeks ago and we've tried to do the best we can to kind of push because we are in parallel working with admin behind the scenes and so it's very opportune time to talk about this and even if we reach 2 p.m. it's cool that you know whoever we can mobilize I'm branwen hi do you want to share what school you're from and then if you're doing anything I'm trying to figure out how to connect my headphones but they're not working so you're just on my computer I'm from Lynwood how and we to be fair or started scrambling on this one is we just haven't we've been at your school beautification day and there's only so many but we have hung up the posters around campus and you know we're going to try to encourage it but will probably most likely do more of it in conjunction with our green ambassador program which were hoping to kick off soon and we finally got permission that that's good news yeah that wasn't possible till now okay good to know well I know I know it's hard to organize stuff in the little time but what time what could we do here what could we talk about that would help you guys or just troubleshoot or did you find a few either students or parent volunteers to just America recycles day is on Monday so that in a few really have only one day to look at you know but that might be the hardest day because it's the first day of the week so maybe you want to do it on Wednesday and just say it's America recycles we can focus one day on another day but you know maybe showing a video or yes please Claudia well I just wanted to share what Greg and I have been working on and well just too we didn't really have a green 5 or any committee like that I do Marino there hasn't been one for a long time so Greg and I are just kind of making it up as we go but we weave Midwest principal and the assistant principal and they're very supportive of getting everything going again and will you sing this week as an opportunity to recruit parent volunteers and also reintroducing everything to the school so we actually have a series of activities maybe Greg and I are very ambitious but we have something going on everyday next week Monday we're having starting in cafeteria so Greg and another parent volunteer are going to be in the cafeteria helping student I can't go because I'm still not cleared as a volunteer but they're going to be kind of directing students to what stackable what is not and then Tuesday we have created a small lesson plan for the all the teachers to just talk with the students about will the concepts of recycling and we're going to show I think the video that we were we we still we just got the link today so we're going to look at it and see what it is that teachers can show that as part of their lesson plan and then Wednesday the principal is actually going to do during her assembly she's going to give a talk on recycling so the numbers don't think so she's going to do that for us and Thursday we have a cake at home activities so we came up with a quiz that we're going to send with all the students to do with her family at home with all the concerts were Recycling and then Friday where are they tired of all this planning but Friday we're having a crayon collection from all the classrooms and all the parents and kind of talking to the students about 1 and then to celebrate everyone purchase bathing and Beast events we're going to be giving throughout the week dolphin tickets like those little stubs that the students get for participating and at the end of the week we're going to have a raffle so students will get some incentive for participating and Greg actually contacted the city and got those magnets that have the recycling which the trash can what was in which cell. going to be part of our Raffles and that's it that's it nothing more trying to restart the brand ambassador because we don't have that but we just realized that it's too much too ambitious so we're going to kind of just use this to launch everything and then try to do that a little bit later in the school year but but yeah we have a plan we have fires raffle prizes everything excellent well it's impressive go ahead so that was me I expect sorry I was actually getting my my covid booster shot if I couldn't change the appointment and I just did so I just finished I just stepped outside I've been listening and I just wanted to say that we had great support from the call our school and other leadership I mean they are taking our you have the idea that we have in helping us to bring them out to all the classroom so it's pretty it's pretty great and that's one of the best things I think it's happening through this week it was a great way to be go to them and say something happening in New York County volunteer if you want to do something and can we work together so next up is a greedy  thank you brownie for all the stuff you shared and I shared a couple of the lesson plans with our principal that she would get an understanding of the old that you sent me so she's interested in that as well and we can continue to cut a partner on that green Ambassador subcommittee and I think it was very useful for a lot of the parents trying to either started or find out about it and so I think it might be a good idea to organize another one I don't know if you want one before the end of the year but we can help facilitate that would you think I thought you would be home Ross but it's not all people are pretty busy especially that time of the year and I've already and really connected us with the folks been calling him when how we are going to try and it's pretty impressive and it's a lot to it so we would love a do you want to talk to us happy to answer any questions and then once your programs get rolling you guys if you have stuff to suggest I said be great I don't know if we need to have a regular meeting unless you feel bad you know you're in need of advice or Direction More than happy to help in that case now that sounds great alright will you guys let me know if you need to get together on that one all right America recycles week you know I only have a few days to organize this I don't think those liners will be in place by then for those who didn't hear that at the beginning but we just have start practicing you know and collect collecting and then just sorting the proper way and so there are videos on the sustainable a page that you might want to look through that are from the years before I was even here so there are some resources there but they're also videos on and maybe Caroline we could find a few would anyone be interested in did you see our casing she said in the chat that they are ASD will release their video by the end of the week so we will forward it to them although I didn't. Well I hope I mean it it's so it's very easy to understand and very kid friendly so that's awesome and what's what's in it is it's sorting or I talked about sorting and kind of things you can use like instead of plastic forks like maybe think about getting reused Forks bamboo ones and talks about like alternative sustainable gifts for Christmas or the holidays it is it's at the holidays that's perfect timing also maybe Caroline you could find the best practices on waste that Justin you worked on for a whole year and in that document there are one page best practices for each stakeholder in a school district so parent student staff pictures of visitors and it's one page so you can easily distributed it's a PDF I would get that out there during this week somehow however you can is the always digital is is good as we're trying to cut our waste but some flyers are useful and they'll let you in a little bit to your discretion but we can definitely I think that does 1 pages are really useful cuz they're very practical and they have local information on what to do there's also the city has the recycle coach app and so you know people use phones everyday and so why not have an app for recycling on what you know what you can actually put in the City Recycling I also shared a PDF that is it Ashley sorry Ashley yeah you want to tell us do you want to tell us about this document if you guys want to download it it's an interesting piece I think that you might be able to use its not next week but during the yeah it's it's from the Brooklyn I believe landfill and they just it's just an organization that I worked with a little bit I kind of go through their data their way data and analyze it and just bring up conclusions for them because I'm not there I'm in Los Angeles so I can't do anything about that when they do their physical waste. It's dumb but yeah it's just a a sheet that was made to teach people to do their own waste. It's with their trash which is pretty cool just a little document that you can send around and show step by step yeah I love that I think that's a big part is identifying our trash Caroline and I when we worked with Ashley and the workability students this week you know we had our hands in the trash bags and sweating all the different pieces you know there's definitely a lot more ways than recycling or compost in in reality and so it's about also really changing our culture about individual Packaging and buying bulk and you know there's a lot of things that we can communicate I think around recycling because that happens to be the last thing we should do we should just be avoiding product those types of products all together but there are the eight ours if you guys have been with me in the last two years and I think they're it's even done 299 or is now and I can share those with you if you wanted to share that with your students but what can what do you need from us what what can we do what do you want to talk about here that would be helpful I just wanted to emphasize that bid on the recycling cuz I think we are talking about recycling in general and so meaning recycling a bottles and cans and cardboard and stuff like that in the blue bin but also recycling Organics cuz like I think in the past when we talked about recycling it's mostly the blue bin but this year and in the coming years the city also is is kind of trying to make 1/4 more of all the food waste that we generate and unless the bad stuff that ends in the landfill because it creates Nathanson and participate to climate change so they want us to be quiet mind full of sorting all the food waste also and not just the bottles and cans but also and maybe I don't know how to see videos about you know teaching kids off on what is biodegradable and what is not because I think that's what makes a big difference between what can go in the green can and What needs to go to the landfill I just wanted just it's a good point yeah go ahead is able to mention but if you're doing activities across all this week and he's been supportive at the sustainability meeting if he's able to mention it and that it's being observed across was but also I love some of that stuff you were getting a liar you know the electronic wires in the app even just you including it here to be some information on composting or any of those things that you would do to me. Would you help how to get you no more attention that's a great idea he does send out that sort of introductory message and it would be nice we are planning are green tip this week on America recycles week so and we're talking about our new waste system I wouldn't mind sharing cuz I'm I'm about to go present to the board right now and this is what I'm going to present so just sorry I'm here so early ESC meeting in this is a reminder for all of you is next Monday from 5 to 6:30 we are very lucky to have a representative of calrecycle which is our state agency on All Recycling laws and that are men dating see all of the municipality so very important one and I hope to show them that you know I hope we come in numbers because you know we went to show calrecycle that we also care about them and these laws do hopefully if you can bring more people I know it's on a Monday but it's Thanksgiving we didn't have a choice I'm going to talk about America recycles day or week at this board meeting today and then also we had a meeting with Culver City last week environmental programs and about SB 1383 and I'm not sure if the Catherine here is Kathy Vargas but anyway our school those are now under requirement to participate in this and so this is the exciting part is January 1st the school district must have and deal with organic waste and provide education and please containers and then for Pure procurement purchase paper with 30% recycled content so that's a big deal cuz our district buys a lot of papers so least we're contributing to that and then there's an edible food recovery program that needs to be in place by January 1st 2024 but I am going to do make it that it we do it this year so the next part of what we're doing is actually having boxes near the trash collection stations at each school and that we recover the food because a lot of it is already it's still in plastic and it can be put aside and then the city has they got a grant from calrecycle to buy a truck refrigerated truck so they are capable of Distributing the food throughout the city so there's a real great partnership ahead and well we can't do the collection right this second but I think starting next year we should really you know start maybe have a contest for kids to design the boxes for food recovery and then start just collecting as much as but it's going to take a minute I think to figure it all out and then you know what s p1383 means for us so we have our new waste system we well we had meetings and you know approval to go forward it hasn't been formally rolled out and so it's a little hard for us to be doing it directly ourselves so we're still working on that it should happen in the next few weeks but it's coming and it's here and we bought bins in the liners and we're really trying to sort and you know hopefully recover food and then the city also during that meeting they would cast to they would like to give us a compost at each School site and no one from the school district said no to that so if they don't say no to us than for me. big gas so I'm very excited that all schools will have a very and Rich compost so yep that's I just wanted to give you a quick overview of what I just can't. I don't know if I can sell that in 2 minutes but I will try there's some people putting some interesting info tri0 products these are good resources subpod doing a QR code with a landing page of information I've never done that but that sounds like a good idea I like that on the trash cans you put like a sticker like they could just scan it and then they get like a whole bunch of things but yeah that should have been part of our grant proposal Caroline we just put in a grant proposal for this new waste system in a video and all sorts of educational things so anyway I'm Greg and Claudia are you guys there are your pretty set then yeah I think for her for now where you at we're pretty set we neither one of us has been on campus so we don't really know what the situation is with the bins and what is there and what is not there so actually next week is going to be a good chance to go and see what is there and if we do need something after that then then we can reach out to you and Caroline yeah that'd be great David and Jeffrey we did walk some of the middle school but not all of it so you know near the cafeteria is pretty the stations that are very clear their setup the problem is no one is sword you know they just throw it all in one or the other they don't care so I think that's why it's important to have volunteers there even if it's one of us for one day you know if we can all just participate and not I'm probably on Monday I can actually I'm okay going down there and doing if you can't get I think David we talked about I had mentioned those the web leaders I don't know if it's possible to get some I know the ASP students are tied up the ones that oversee them or just fully occupied right now that's the challenge will like the counselors in the teachers with all their events their hands are just full right now yeah I'm starting to think about a way around it and I thought I had is it if we pushed it push it through or r-pod lessons which occur every Monday we met Mystic sprayed lunch but for 7th and 8th graders go to lunch after receiving the lesson we could do something the following day with you with the volunteers and sponsors are available are now using the custodians to see if they can support in the meantime as they're sort of like monetary like the hotspot for patras make sure you guys are throwing things that we can probably use them by strategically throughout the cafeteria area or you can request them volunteers I'm doing lunch time at least no one said that week after that Monday pot lesson so that the students are actually practicing and if you don't we start developing that hat habit from from them and be great if that's after video can be used in that pod lesson how long is a video and I know it's not done you a free minute is it the one from the district website I was sure there's a couple of videos I made one just starting and showing what goes where but I think the high schoolers the ASP made one as well that is coming out remember 11th is that correct Caitlyn now we wait for it to you whenever we have it but for now we have the sentence one that is on the ccusd website that I sent the link in chat another 3-minute one right yeah there's Caroline shared the Google Doc with the volunteer time and then the recycling video and then there's also other videos in the video section on the sustainability page to check out that were made by students and you know there is I think it's worthwhile recycling or videos before even and you know if you're there and you can I don't know if we're maybe not allowed to take pictures but if if anyone wants to share what they've done and we can post it also on USD Green Facebook page and and share it with her environment and sustainability committee David for a posters that I think we were talking about the drop-off do you know where the posters were if those were dropped in the office you're not to my knowledge it's after 4 now I'm not able to confirm tomorrow that would be something I will confirm with the office staff supposed to receive them and we were hanging up there even though I don't know okay Caitlin do you know where those were distributed then at the middle school goes we send our sustainability coordinators to the office and the office lady said that they would take care of it and send them to mrs. fielmann so we don't know what happened to them after that but could we do it Friday I can come in on Friday and just help I know like Miss Gilman said they're certain places. They Taco Sol rectangle areas marked off the beans if they're not together the black in the and the blue or the green if they're not all in a station then trash will go in recycling recycling will go in trash so if if you're walking around and you see you know one one trash and recycling and try to put them together and then put your posters cuz that'll help the custodians to you notice if they're at the entrance in fact they were saying that for the custodians when they have to go up you know that they go through the hallway to the different classrooms and you know if there's one recycling bin on the other side of the classroom that's not easy for them and so if they can be near the hallways so at the front unit right near the entrance of the classroom that's ideal and then if you put your posters up there then at least third in you know even if they're just right across from each other but they're clearly marked I think that'll be helpful let me see if there are no recycling bins come to us cuz we can order we've got District support and they've been ordering whatever we have asked for so I think that if that's positive question is are these posters of a about of the recycle week or is it just here is here's how to separate because in the end permanently there do you think you could send the Google drive with all the posters I don't want to put them there but there are our furnace is really like the goal was to have each classroom and in like in in classrooms and offices basically everybody or every room should have together one blue and one black and then other area and like to put the posters like on the wall on top of it and then in the other area like outside in the cafeteria and then we need to have this three meaning green blue and black together so now the posters are mainly for our blue like what's goes into blue when what goes in the black I feel like you had a there was a folder for that or I mean I just need to check a run when had her hands up do you want to share something it's not that big a deal and it doesn't it's probably too late now anyway there's been a lot of news about how the only plastic that we can be recycling are Plastics 1 and 2 but then all of these the stuff in the city says 125 but I thought I would receive flowers from the city saying 122 like for the summer and maybe I'm remembering that wrong so they have their posters that's one problem the other problem is you or me you know we don't know recycling is based on the market and when we never know do you know maybe next year the number for actually five his was also one of the most more recyclable plastics so I think it best to try to do the mall this law ABA SB 1383 is going to fix some of these issues everyone is going to have black blue and green for inside and out like moving forward and then the recycling sign will not be able to be used if it is not a recyclable plastic like it's not going to be as misleading and said that they are there is legislation around this it's coming it's going to take some time but it it's true it's I think we can't we can't be too picky and are sorting we just have to do our regular sorting and someone is sorting after it's the thing is when it says once it's in the you know landfill or the trash can then has zero chance and I know which cycling is not the best way to do it but just for the purpose of teaching students General about recycling I think you know if it's a fairly clean you know it's clean enough and you know it should be clean to put in there but if it has a little bit of I mean it can handle a little contamination so it's it's a little tricky you know what to communicate it's true but I think that's just work with what we have with those posters 1 through 5 and then and then give it a chance and and then when it changes will work with that I think if that does that make sense or yeah it does Caroline just put the drive with the posters in it and I see summer High summer how are you you want to say hello everyone sorry I'm a little bit late kids no problem we recorded this and I'll I'll send it out later tonight I think so my morning so anyway we were just talking about America recycles we can you know everyone's in the different stages if any so we're going to do our best and however we can communicate you know whether it's planning for the rest of the year or doing something specific on campus with the green ambassadors or or you know clubs or so sorry that's okay I just wanted to follow up on the workability students I know you sent them to medication about it because the ongoing need to support sporting as everybody's got a pointed out here is pretty high and I wasn't clear of that but they're beyond America recycles week I think I saw that they were there was some activity that does not extend to all of this because I also thought the messaging that they do with their can only be at certain schools and I just wanted to get a little more clarity about what we should expect it on Apple yeah you know I I I Ashley would you be able to answer exactly which students are going where I'm not hunting myself so we have at this time right now and it just started this week today was actually their first day working I have two students or El Rincon for an hour on Tuesdays from 11:30 to 12:30 and I have one student Linda Howe currently and they are they from 12:30 to 1:30 on Tuesday as well will probably remain in place for the rest of the school year and that's kind of where we are right now at the moment with some of the students that I work with are in very levels and so some of its appropriate and some of it might be a little bit overwhelming for them and so that's why I stopped going to answer your question I'm not sure what else information you were looking for that works for me again and I guess as you get in a greater capacity we would love that to just be part of a conversation about how people could rotate it comes up in school so a lot of his also works through our workability teacher who is based out of the high school Dan Phillips and he is the one that kind of reaches out to the various schools so it may be a based upon that he got a quicker response back from those the two principals at so it I mean not going to be mad or just kind of like whatever the principles were looking for at the time and I know based upon this school year being a teacher in the district it is a very overwhelming so there may just be that some of these things just have to roll out a little bit yeah and I think if we could also be part of that group because I bet the principal shiratori got it from El Dorado she would she doesn't like it was anything right as opposed to cloudy and I can bring it to her and say hey this is what we've been doing and talking how to make a resource that can support that and I'm sure she would have to say yes or no but I can still beat you know what I think even she could have worked for it if we helped bring it to her and it sounds like roll out of obviously this this can't be right now is also a tad like you know the different timeline so it could have been based upon that as well so when we were asking for potential jobs in our communities and then when this was rolling out so that me and not having to be a presented to her at the time so that could have been some of the two and then we also have to look at accessing the different campuses and how we are getting there too and I've been trying to think creatively how we met you're a better support stuff but we're based out of Culver Park which is in between Farragut in the Middle School so like El Marino for examples a little bit farther and right now some of the put the waves were getting around to the community as walking I'm so is anybody else I also based upon my students different needs and stuff like that so definitely you guys are interested we can try to connect and figure out something to very interested in Farragut so I know right next to you so that actually I mean not to say that I would not want to support any school in our district I don't want to say it based upon our location but it is right next door. So I couldn't be more excited to work with you guys I know my colleague on campus is the special ed teacher actually so it's like Marissa Bilbo wonderful so weird getting up and going to go to work with you guys you can reach out to me and then me and Dan can be part of our program is workability so some of my students when they stated before are being paid to work that is part of the program we are but late but we do also have some areas where some of our students are getting ready to do that type of thing so we may need something where they go in 10 minutes because that's just where they're at so you know in and even if it maybe it is some of the campuses are located maybe they came in and do the modeling kind of like what we did is sorting with the century and maybe they just showed it you know and that's another way for them to work on their communication skills and modeling for other other people so those are possibilities at you know it's just kind of coordinating everything is good is the fun part so that sounds great we are totally in on that and willing to work with all sorts of timelines it and things like that and I thank you for sharing that I'd love that this is happening on on this platform so appreciate Ashley and then all the appearance that are interested in and getting your you know your students to work there and help out and and really yes exciting one piece I really want to just focus on or to mention are the custodians because they're going to be probably the last people to know about this tonight you know it's it's hard to work with the district I'll be honest sometimes just to you know really roll out a big program and so it's not perfect but if you guys have privilege relationship with your custodians tell them but you know you're representing our committee and and we have that flyer I think you may have seen it in my email if you can check my last email I have a copy of the flyer we plan with Caroline to go out and talk to each one of them like each school but we just didn't have time to do it right before America recycles day so I don't want them to be caught off-guard either so if if there's a chance to share that we care about them and you know that weird include them as one of the major stakeholders in this and then you know just helping us fix the system that we we want them to you know and then maybe late maybe we highlight some of our custodians during a earth next week or something maybe do something special for Mike organ or you know during next year so these are people that are working behind the scenes and they they get the kind of grunt work and get no recognition so the custodians are picking up trash off the floor from that the students know they're the ones you know getting the trays from the you know the tables and so I am I'd love to I really support them as well and you know Julie Garcia is managing all the cafeteria for and distributed to all the schools so we're working with her and you know it would be nice to highlight these people that do a lot of the lifting in our school district in this respect so anyway just planting that seed I'm going to have a question I'm not sure for the high school did the school club all the organizing on their own like they're at the waste or hit Lynn just sent me a private message saying that she'll be in contact about the sign up sheet and you know getting it to the clubs and trying to mobilize the students to be volunteers during the high school I think on Wednesday mornings and show a video or something that could communicate or not sure if I don't mean to catch you off-guard but yeah I know definitely I think do boys have to coordinate that with the other EP so that we can get that done so that teachers can show the video Lee and so you know in fact that when all your schools if you want to use their video I there's mine helping just sort that it's really just practical there's nothing exciting about my video but if you want to use their as a that's so much cooler Nick I mean Bronwyn in some of these guys have been around a while I think there have been videos in the past on all of this Recycling and stuff to do it live we did an assembly to introduce green ambassadors and we did like a silly presentation for the kids so no there wasn't a video we actually just got up on stage and did like a game show where we pretended it was the right it was a Play The Price is Right music and did stuff like that but we actually made a video I know there this year yeah maybe so and I hope to I'm still working on getting my ccusd green video project which is about in all sustainability efforts in the district but anyway still looking for the 20 grand so that students could submit videos showing how to recycle the classroom so hopefully we'll get some good material from that too so how is it how does it work we're just accepting 2-minute videos from kids showing how the recycling or putting things in the trash but it's classroom only cuz we're not totally ready for introducing cafeteria quite yet so I hope it'll go well I'll let you guys know next meeting but I'm hoping good material from the kids and I sent home like a mini flyer just saying what goes in the recycling what goes in the trash and the hope is that you know parents will read that too and then I helped a little bit with I'm sorry at home yeah it's kind of sad that you're launching something next week that won't happen till afterwards we're launching it it's hoping we're asking for your submissions this Sunday so we're hoping to show it through America's at school at school for the kids that's great exciting stuff thank you so much it's an hour into this meeting I hope we help cover some things and I think we should a lot of
