to make for backpacks with this program and I also like to ask Megan wrong whenever I'm single backpacks for kids so lobsters no seats if you want to come roads are empty free ready for me. Thank you very much for the school board is truly my pleasure and honor to be here tonight and I am indeed. I like to directly Wesley Smith water district. Houston and I'm here too I'm going to talk about two things before I get to do the point of my presentation on the one thing I wanted to clean the Culver City or is every year your school district participate in our water is life art contest and that happens every spring at West station in this year I don't know the exact number at least it at least 50 students from the high school participated in our art contest this year from from my division vision for so I can see that number come through and I just wanted to really give that headed to teacher up your Christine Hudson ARCA who has been very instrumental working with our staff to have the students participate in that and also this year one of your students and a wang I won an award spacing rejects. It was contest before it goes on at the Metropolitan water district so while she very well could be selected at a higher level but I just wanted to give a little praise right thing please do and thank you guys for allowing your staff to work with us secondly I'm going to leave somebody's here but we we recently reprinted but we called it's a guy to our ocean friendly Gardens which are located throughout the rest of the service area one of those of course is Robert Frost Auditorium that is out front landscape the recipes and put it into the property their cooperation with the District of it is a really cool though guide if somebody has a lot of free time on your hands and wants to drive around West Basin service area you can go from Palos Verdes at the Malibu you can go from Inglewood and Carson up here to Culver City and all the way from West Hollywood we have a number of these on display throughout the district, leave somebody's out front because I really would love the residents evangelism just have soup and see the different types of Landscapes that you can use without one plant so what I wanted to do tonight was to come down to make a presentation to the backpacks for kids who was instrumental this year with helping West Basin and me and division 4 giveaway 400 rain barrels earlier this year and I know Culver City residents of this program we are contained do this program going forward at West Basin but once a year we give away rain barrels to certainly help residents save water on their property but also to Showcase snow one more way of conservation and what we do is we were set alarm clock at partner in the communities and this year I selected that kind of is because I know that the money is going to go for a quick pots and I know that it's going to meet people in me and the nonprofit partner we provide them will they help us by getting volunteers there and help us with promotion it's not just her staff and some of the car without other partners like Golden State water in city of Culver City to help us that nonprofit but we paid him $5 a barrel to do the sub if you can do the math 400 Rand barrels on a Saturday morning for $5 a barrel is $2,000 so I'm really delighted to come down and they provided that to Megan Rawls you have to be here this evening to accept it but also to say thank you Janet Wallace who I reached out to in this process and that's right up his very instrumental bringing all the people together to go to the very successful program we held that at West LA College is you all know earlier this year the city of quarter sheet of course Health System remember sleep and Golden State water your local retailer abscess the last thing I want to say about all this is to be honest with you it's one of those days you don't like what I was going to be like and we did everything save tonight before basically but it was cold and it was windy and yet the volunteers were there and they were cars lined up down because they work their way in on the campus and also one of our staff is with me tonight Quest Mesa from Myspace in who work on the program throughout our region with us and he was there and he knows how much backpacks for kids out there I have a proclamation under the present to them but also we had a large as well as a real check dress has a what did you want to grab a and so I guess somehow we'll we'll go up here and look at this this is your your house let us know how to do it and happy New Year divided by something Priceline thank you yes I do now thank you very much I needed that today we like money all right now Rhonda public recognition I'd like to start by saying I'm in my since shooting I want to put out a letter for a community and all the things the actions of that our school district have dance what I would like for us to talk about other things that our district should be proud of it instead of the things that we have to do the carousel if there's ever an active shooter current California Science Center websites that are students are winding down there still in there and getting ready for combination heparin and that we have many students for taking that bold step College to career we should be able to discuss the week asking for new Performance Bike Isle of Iona students to perform at the Ahmanson Theatre interprofessional we're preparing and performing at Java Dollar on June 2nd we should be able to discuss that we have school full of incredible acting like our Middle School lacrosse team for a championship Primetime basketball team for our softball team that's playing right now in the CIF championship but instead we are the nation a reminder the delicate situation and the fact that a territory is a place for senseless violence and anger is in Lake to further address the needs of our students and staff I have asked for interested parents to participate on a safety advisory committee that you are interested who actively address the needs had Workshop safety workshops and many other things I also would like to think positive parents and staff who were able to attend our impromptu meeting today at 5 we're going to have special day classes at our school I do want to reiterate as I said earlier today but the pathway conclusion in the pathway that our school district is already on dinoland that we have in this world and that is where children profits may have been slow to speak for a dedicated I want this cabinet and what this word is dedicated to his equity and access hands down seven days a week all the time progress and I mean real we have to first take the step forward together and discuss and trust each other enough figure out what we need to do so that all of our children's names and that means that I need as adults take a back seat I hope that you give us a great patient the trust and respect and lock arms with us and then Steam figure out what we need to do audience members want to just the Border in public, but if you do you need to fill out a comment card with her in the We're Stars and then turned in to Miss Williams here thank you for trusting me board members fortunate performance different they make is going to be I'll just leave it at that it really was a wonderful do you ever see when you see children jumping around on a stage and just building out that their favorite song of whatever something from The Lion King comes out it just and for me what's up to the process with the learning that displayed by our teachers they so good, safe to talk about experience that in the comp provided for them to be able to teach musical theatre inside the classroom and their wish to be able to sustain the program moving provide a flower by Anna Faris mr.
