second choice scuse me but we can go to these other universities and we can go off there the point is how do our students do after that first year and there is a way that we can measure that and I'm saying that's something we might want to look at because it might tell us something here of what we can do your high scores wonderful the point is and I think we're the best the point is we need to do that I've been saying this over and over because there was a way to do that so they go off to call how do they do that first year it might help us with our programming understand the thing that you know I think will be useful as just kind of look at then people don't necessarily always want to do this look at how the Elementary's compared to one another because I think that there actually running pretty close to one another and especially when you compare them with other schools that are similarly look at their their demographic backgrounds and and see how they're doing compared to those kinds of other schools that are there simile similarly-situated I think that you know there's some schools that have you know a bad rap just because of gossip and I think that is something that we need to at fixing because we don't have a single bad school in this District we don't even have a single mediacorp School in this different so take to get the word out to do the pr on that or whatever it takes to kind of turn that around and terms of perception I think is also really important because we can see the numbers but and he will look at the numbers and then they go yeah but blah blah blah blah blah whatever it is and then they want to either permit somewhere else or perm it up District or you know whatever the perception is and so I think working on changing that perception that I think some of the parent groups that have been working together across the schools have really brought some of that out parents are going to other parents or other schools activities and they can see that you know or even just get ideas about all festivals are different activities are different ways that things are run and I think that really brings the community together I think we have to utilize those groups weather PTA Council or other outside groups that are doing that sort of bring the community together in a way that us to alter those perceptions that are that are misinformed write thank you very much thank you very much I'm going to allow Roy to go first 10.3 in case it needs to leave it's getting close to 9 so go ahead and give your your student representative report first thank you thank you very much so sorry for the Culver City High School sports are football team lost on Friday against Redondo really unfortunate I'm also a girls volleyball team is on right now undefeated as well as the girls tennis team and our water polos for the guys use has been going on for the abpa or fall plays coming out on November 7th and we're displaying 12 Angry Men and the tickets are undecided but it would be awesome if you guys can go on opening day also the art department and the film department and dance is also making their curriculum for the year Missouri participating in many on numerous concerts and also showcasing some of their talent for fundraising the different clubs and especially SB are selling spirit wear food and resources at back to school night tomorrow night so if you are going to back to school night do not leave your house without your wallet do you think government program for the culver-palms family YMCA has finally begun signups have completed in record time it opened on the 2nd of September on a 7 morning and close 2 hours later with 110 sign ups this is the only time a teenager will wake up early on a Monday morning so line my last report I talked about the Centauri on leadership conference and the planning for this entire leadership conference is almost completed and I'm really excited to finally offer our students the opportunity how to learn true leadership and the importance of community outreach on so before I close my report I would like to allocate some of my time to mr. Dave the roast for any comments regarding the Centauri leadership conference  well thank you Roy High and so yes I know the board's interest was that we shorten any amount of time this designated to report so I've been going to everybody and seeing if I can get a little bit of their time so Roy thank you for kicking things off I appreciate you giving me that time actually I have to have a conversation be a part of their last planning session for the the leadership conference and it was a great opportunity to engage in in some of that visioning and some of the conversations and and the things that they'd like to see happen and you're so I certainly want to commend him and his colleagues for the vision in the Shannon and what they're they're trying to do and and I and I felt that it was very much aligned with what we're trying to do as an organization certainly we have unique interest in goals across the organization but there's the collective us and then how we work together and and how do we bring all of the groups together and how do we Empower those leaders of those groups and even the sponsors in the visors in and really focus on their vision of of leaving a legacy so and in and being as creative to say they're going to host a conference and it's going to be a day-long conference quit with the keynote speakers and breakout sessions and it's going to happen during the day so just their creativity and their Innovation and so I really encourage everybody to be a part of this in and I also saw them spending a considerable amount of time focusing on well maybe you know if we did fundraising we could get this benefited fundraising that we could get that and it would have been a significant distraction from what they want to accomplish in terms of influencing the culture and impacting one another as it relates to Bishop Henry Lee leaving that Legacy that they want and so I really encourage you know everyone to be involved in me in tune to what it is that they hope you'll come special things that we can do to provide resources for that day whether their physical resources whether there are participants that can provide resources or participants in in terms of the breakouts luncheons t-shirts those types of things where we can invest in our students so they can dedicate their time to being the leaders that they want to be and I'll get more information you know through volume into our entire Community whether that's our business partners in chamber and and the foundation but what are the things that we can do to invest in in this specific day because it's it's going to be a day like none other and so I appreciate to an admirer and I'm inspired by their creativity and their desire to truly lead and not have clubs be something that just you know organized an official clicks on our campus but how are we collectively serving one another and empowering everybody to do the things that they love and are passionate about in her call to do but also do it with a common vision for all sent are so my compliments to you thank you very much and seller is it Tober 29th so if you're if we would like to invite you if you want to come by to this very much continue Dave  okay I'm going to use six minutes of Katie's time now and what I'd like to share is one tile focus on one topic emergency preparedness and what's been our focus in that regard I know that you get lower update site I know that unfortunately sometimes this gets a lot of attention when there's some type of tragedy and we want to make sure everybody is aware and informed of all of thanks it we're doing emergency preparedness is is a district-wide objective you know how do we plan prepare and coordinating are only in and amongst our own buildings a particularly in their cloaks close proximity Albert also how do we partner with the agency's right here with in Culver City I so that's been an area Focus obviously you're aware of the active shooter drill that we did this summer hosted that and then worked with fire there EMT and also Culver City Police Department administrative Council are the days of our leaders these are directors these are our principles are emphasis throughout the year in addition to the leadership efforts for the entire District One Prime are you objective is around emergency preparedness of the training of our leaders in their own incident command and how they facilitate the preparedness at their individual sites sure that there's common and consistent language making sure there were doing the inventories that were practicing the drills when we have drills were having fire and PD on site so really ratcheting up the full of of conversation that we have and and preparation that we have to go from yeah we're in compliance but to the point that we were actually very very well prepared that's been an area focus with Edmond Council the follow-up from that that recent meeting that we had was also our own District EOC we've formed our our own emergency command one of the things that we've identified is that we have a number of individuals that are contributing to safety and emergency preparedness which is a good thing but at the same time it's created a fracture approach and it's important that facilities is aware of what we're doing from a pupil Services perspective from a special programs perspective for even from the building perspectives how do we as an Emergency Operations Command a Central Command of a cuz not only do we need to take care of our own facility but we will be the conduit to all other agencies in the event that we have some type of catastrophic event so creating that in also having key members assistant chief from the fire was there a Christine para who does emergency preparedness for the entire District she's a part of that helping us assess and evaluate where we're at in terms of emergency preparedness we will be coordinating interagency drill where the fire and PD will be a part of our activities in or events that will be special scenarios they take place in each of our locations where we do actually love the full drill all the way through breaking out into our individual teams or Circles of 9 again aligning the the common language that we use and have that interface because really what the fire in the police department want us to be able to do in terms of first respond not just evacuate and wait for them to show up if there's some type of event like this we need to be prepared to be our caretakers of all of our children of our staff and our families and in some respects our site will be that that safe location so could and it could be for extended periods of time so the interface that we have right now with the fire department is is outstanding I participated in an event based on an invitation the fire department's going through Community strategic planning around the fire department and I was a participant in that activity today so I just want to Light Art emphasis and commitment to emergency preparedness I'll give the rest of my time 2K  thank you Katie alluded to with a lot of the trailer language around the assembly Bill 484 which is suspending you know most of RCs I'm State testing this year I'm interesting and I think there are implications for us to make sure that we have other means to you know too the progress of our students the the not only will we not get test scores this year because we're not testing the proposal actually is for 2 years out so even the first year that we would give the full assessment in smarter balanced to to score us on our on Common Core we would not be getting playful API at API score so it's for for this current year in a year out so I will continue to provide updates as they come and what implications at mate you for Culver City and also working on our strength and gaps and trying to focus on you know one of our goals is what we are doing when students are learning we had a I think an exciting administrator PLC last Thursday where Dave and I took the took all of our school and District administrators to an exercise to identify what what are the programs and cease and an interventions that we have in place for students and and as we took them through that exercise we then moved into how do you know whether it's working or not and do you have data that backs this up and so they they had time to discuss that and and determine do they know do they have that data nowhere to go get that data and and they actually came and and went through an exercise of where they actually removed some of the programs that they were doing bat as at what do they were effective or not and so will continue that that discussion and we are at Services is planning we have a a county visit based on our English Learners and our title 3 Improvement plan and so we will be visited by a team from Los Angeles County on October 14th we've selected love ionic and Culver City Middle School for four they wanted to see one Elementary and and one secondary site and so we will report back there their findings from that visit thank you Leslie I'm we received proposal from ccft and we will submit it for public hearing at the October 8th board meeting I'm sure that we are going to receive Aces proposal quite soon and we look forward to I'm going to the table with both groups are week of Fitness for our staff has started this week Zumba start yesterday and was well attended and today at 6:15 operation boot camp which is conducted by operation boot La is offering a six-week boot camp class for our staff So currently there should be about 130 people who are sufficiently worn out and sore from both we are also offering yoga this Thursday yay by popular demand thing there's someone happy about that shoutout for yoga I just want to let you know that there are many companies who are you know making sure that they are taking care of their employees it's a very rare thing for school districts to the same and we are definitely at the Forefront maybe even alone in our efforts to take care of our employees in this way thank you for those efforts yes I'd like to direct everybody's attention in the budget status report I passed out earlier and they're copies at the back of the hallway can really good for the first time in a long time we actually have a nice little Surplus close to a million for the current year and so that if you go all the way down to the bottom of the report that reflects that a portion of our ending balances Ashley made up of an ongoing from an ongoing Source rather than when we were experiencing deficits and that was all from one time sources show of fiscally were looking very good that stood to the boards of prudence and  dedication 2 USANA financially for Amtrak I haven't had interesting couple of weeks went to several open houses they're very conducted and it was wonderful opportunity for me to be there I went to the office of child development and Audrey took me from classroom to classroom show me what was going on in each and I found that fascinating I never had the opportunity to actually visit each those classrooms before you're doing a terrific job went out to Eldon con same same thing I spent little time in the parking lot had issue arise and so I met some of the parents turn the parking lot that was interesting to got some very nice comments about my my skills at directing traffic  and violin how and why am once again that was a really really gratifying experience and I'm looking forward I actually had such a great time not the open houses that I'm looking forward to next year and I want to 10 more cuz it was very rewarding and very interesting experience thank you thanks Mike I'd like to see it I think it's great that we have a surplus I'd like to see the that the three years out because that's what we have to adhere to for state and I'm all will may be scheduling for next year and not it not directed toward you but to whomever that is whether it's Katie or the unions or whatever but do not have on one night of the elementaries gets a little difficult for board members to get from to be no more than one so that's the problematic and and I and I realize are on Wednesdays cuz Wednesday or short days but I think that that you know there's got to be some balance where we can have a Tuesday or Thursday so that we can spread them out a little bit more so that the administration and in the board can another Frank Luther parents I know that there's at least one person here that has kids are two different Elementary's for for various reasons so another person's a problem sometimes for parents as well okay thank you all and now we will go to members of the audience Roberts agulhas and guys an update I've gotten over 1,800 signatures for a petition I've been tremendous Community Support again for the petition fix our school also have 235 online signal I wish that you guys could read the comments made out by the people on regarding this petition now despite the support for this petition there are some people who have been trying to mislead people about the pool and spread this information I'm not here to make any personal attacks and respond comments made about me however I want to present a factual account about the natatorium I called gilfillan of Balfour and he unequivocally told me that the district asked him to prepare only one needs assessment and that needs where the pool was to demolish the pool and put a multi-purpose room in the building you know I don't have any problems with Balfour Beatty just giving me the information and he was telling me that  did you know there is he was only directed to get A needs assessment on the about the pool I would like the board to consider an alternative which is to fix our school pool now this needs a estimate was 10 million $700,000 to destroy the pool and I have got estimates of $3000000 to fix the pool does that make common sense to destroy a pool and 10 million dollars versus 3 million to fix it I would suggest that the board  get a request for proposal to ask other people other pool operators to give an estimate a realistic estimate of how much it would cost to fix the school pool just think of the seven million dollars sir is what we could use with that seven million dollars we could upgrade our air filtration facilities and everything so I'm requesting that the board open up A needs assessment  put out for bid to get a realistic estimate on how much it would cost to fix the pool cuz you know there's a bond issue coming up and end this pool is going to be a great poster child for getting our facilities fixed I mean do you know sure we need to have water fountains we need to have other things you know fry School District I mean the bathrooms are horrible but you know are you going to advertise your Albany our bathroom space I think having this pool this represents a monument to waste it Monument will need it it's going to be the poster child for getting a bond issue pass and I I think again it makes Common Sense let's spend 3 million to fix the pool instead of 10 million $700,000 to destroy the pool we're going to have 6700 students we're going to be able to use ankle versus 60 or 80 for the other option  Abdullah come on and then Robert Smith  good evening so I'm a senior currently at Culver City High and I was asked by Mr Robert to come talk and I found that this is a great item opportunity to let you guys know from the student switch that should be a great idea because I've never had this opportunity to actually learn through my school to swim I have to go my parents have tell you no alarm after words and whatnot so I feel like the statistically speaking as we see like 70% of African American children tell me what is a lot of Statistics saying that kids can't swim and especially if we come from an early age that's just a valuable skill Adam General and also it be on it just yet be good opportunity and the great exercise because currently I have knee injury my only exercise option is swimming and luckily I know how to swim so it's good also I feel like I miss Robert said that 7 3 million just to fix the pools is it's logical to do that rather than destroying making multi-purpose room which is it necessary I mean not to my knowledge or whatever overall I would can I leave from a kids from the youth perspective and voiced I would say that this we should we can strike the pool and put our funds into better I'm worried useful things rather than just built demolishing it for more money to make it something that's not as useful thank you Robert Smith quick as promised I brought another hand out for you guys hope everybody got a copy of it I distributed them so when we're talking about numbers these are important numbers with 40% of the district being disadvantaged socio-economically challenged you can see these numbers so if you take if you believe these numbers and you take these percentages you can see that a percentage of of the school district the kids going through what was your cigar knocking to learn how to swim anyway I think would be good idea if they did learn how to swim if they could do it thank you thank you Robert Robbins is next good evening Sue Robbins candidate for school board over the weekend I talked to a couple of people who brought up the issue of the sea please for special ed needs and I know that were in the throes of looking into questions regarding the the bond and talking to some of the stakeholders about what their needs are because there were questions about all of that back when the the bond was discussed in May so I wanted to let you know that there are some when the special at Community who raised the flag and said that there are some facilities needs for special ed services that were providing that we currently don't have so I was just wanted to put that out ask if that that group of stakeholders could please be considered as you're going through the the process of looking into questions and stakeholder for guarding the pot okay you can ask questions for you were saying there are some facilities that we need like for example what are they telling us she mentioned that there were some schools that didn't have a room for OT and that they needed space to provide the services that didn't exist in certain schools so I just thought I'd let you know since I know that you had questions about what some stakeholders might want that that to please put those stakeholders on the list and just consult with our special ed people to find out what those needs are the poor start with Nancy then go to Carlo and then go the other side of the room Bing first all the time I have to go on the record as being  I'm not as in all data some of you there are so many things Play Can't Be calibrated and counted it measure whether or not a child is succeeded educational to get data you have to measure and that means testing and some important aspects of Education cannot be measured they aren't want to Tatum are extreme dependence on data forces of Sims 2 into constant testing which cuts into critical and turn the **** off thinking processes and really I think deters us from our purposes Educators if you weigh a pig twice the week it doesn't gain that much  I think we need to get testing under control and get data into Pro what perspective we are not merely creating future workers we are rather creating future citizens Florida's backed out of the Common Core testing California is opposing Arne Duncan and I think his proposed is is going to cost us he's mad at us but I do think we need those two years to Pilot some of the Common Core all connected to testing testing costs money in the state of Texas right now they have disabuse them cell of more than four less than no more than four test in 12 years that's the goal whether or not they'll get all the counties to I don't know but it does seem the testing is just taking off like insanely so I want to go on record as saying there are many other things that are involved in education besides testing our children also I'd like to recommend that you read reign of stop by Diane ravitch and of course most of you if you are familiar with her know that these are her views but they are mine too after 41 years in the thank you very much I won't bore you with the oh yes one thing the open house is where lovely and it was so nice seeing you there Michael thank you both knitted question for you the what do you think in terms of what the Common Core may bring in terms of sing critical and analytical that accept the idea of project Focus learning I'm very much in favor of this good things about the Common Core don't misunderstand me it's almost like they took a whole cloth from AP programmers the ideas are outstanding I just don't want to see the testing become so pervasive  do you realize that that we if we going at the rate we're going to have a weekly test on everything and it's simply not reasonable you talk about common sense Robert start exercising and one point about the natatorium I never thought that the problem was getting it repaired or straightened out for that 3 I thought the problem was the maintenance fees which are exorbitant as I understand so we might need to clarify some of those issues for us board members thank you I better do a thing I agree with what you're saying we are one of the very few states that test 2nd graders so we could at least start with eliminating that if we're going to do it at least lemonade the kids I can you know barely  yeah I mean I think that that's you know just the height of ridiculous when really anyway  agree with some of that disagree with others but I but I appreciate you having that voice and reminding us about that I will mention real quickly on that since you brought it put that book I mentioned earlier data wise one of the things I really like about it is that it under it take sort of I guess what's my point of view which is that testing alone is not good it doesn't give us the whole picture but it gives us a picture and you have to provide other data to either support and other words kids know or don't know skill but doesn't tell you why they know where it don't know excavate of that foundational okay on the natatorium I'm I've really I'm really glad that we're going to be having a process to have this discussion I'm glad that both all three of you brought that up mr. Larose do we know yet when the working group that's going to be working on the facilities master plan do we know when their first meeting is at been set yet or not yet that one has not been we have been sending emails about that just depends on whether you're available this Friday or next Friday right so I was asked whether I had said it yet so that would that would him that would that would have a direct correlation to which emails have been read and responded to and or later with my calendar this Friday we do already have a meeting scheduled for the community engagement group so I'll need to correspond and and starving to set the other times I appreciate all of you mentioned about that not been considered and I think there's a great time to consider and this committee will be I'm looking at that other things I wanted to bring up I wanted to speak briefly we had our last liaison meeting of this go around a week ago and it's been just an absolute pleasure to serve on that I think my board college for giving me that opportunity I really really enjoyed what the work we've done I want to mention a couple of things that came up for everyone's knowledge the first one had to do with collection consolidation so vice mayor Sally Wells this is an issue of great interest for hers for her she's concerned about the amount have voter fatigue and thinks that by consolidating City And School District elections we may be able to both save money which is no question Trump no question of mine mine will be able to save money and pay will we be able to increase voter turnout there's a lot of legal questions still with that so there's still work to be done before anything comes back to either body to even consider I just want to give you a heads-up that that is something that's being looked at by the liaison committee so that we can get information about back also another item of discussion had to do construction projects are this was something that I had brought up I thought as we are going into more and more construction projects in our staff is just not able to do because it's so the staff related to this part of of Mister Reynolds department is there stuff that the city public works department which is substantially bigger could maybe provide I'm support on and I was amazed that they've actually been very open to the idea of providing us support that may be able to save us money so that we don't have be hiring consultants for every single little project they have to do it maybe even consolidating some of them so that if we're working on field Renovations at Lynn how and they're working on reservations at one of their schools are singing one of their parts doing those together so it's again everything's early stages but something important lastly there was a large discussion at that meeting about parking regulations and that carried over to last night's city council meeting and I Believe Miss council member Clark will attest to the was a 90 minutes of public comment last night 90 minutes public comment that I'm parking issues style house I mean every seat to take in in here and most of that does not relate to us but there is one piece that does not has to do with and I really appreciate the cancel doing this to end the end their staff because I think it's finally real discussion about how we deal with parking issues at the schools I mean it needs to be had and driving and I've got some great ideas that they brought up that we discussed two in particular I want to share one was providing the school district the opportunity to have the curb right in front of the school in areas where that permit parking only reserved for us to use as we need it so if we staff parking if we needed for drop-off pick-up we need for visitor parking superintendent the principal would let them know what the need is and staff would be able City staff would be able to provide that area for us rather than having permit parking on the second thing has to do with special events up to now you know there's a back-to-school night or a concert or a football game and you know the streets are flooded with people all around the neighbors get really pissed off because they usually don't have any notice and so the city has a mechanism that they're proposing whereby for not every event but for certain number of events we would go before the traffic committee either would be public notice all the things would stop the car but we would be able to get exemptions so I think it's a really good first step and I encourage my calling as a perfect time for us to take on parking and drop-off pick-up and traffic and everything as well I from the school board so that we're able to work hand-in-hand so I would encourage I know where schedule so busy but when we do have an opportunity I think there's a lot we could do on that and I know that there's a people who really appreciate that and then finally one last item by the way the next liaison committee meeting will be December 16th so we will have reorganized 10w new lays on committee members members Russian language immersion and I was hoping that the board would consider setting sort of an end goal so that when staff comes back I believe I saw on one of the Moe's it was going to be towards the end of the year December January something around there that they would actually be able to come with our goal in mind so that's our job thank is to say we want the program to be like this and then they say okay can we get it there here's how it would go and so you know I've got my ideas I would love to have three classes in the Target Lang I said that it's actually a true 50% immersion I would love to see a high school content option at least an option if not full thing and you know I would like and I'm curious if anyone else would like to have a conversation in the near future about what our goal is for the program so then we can send that to staff to see if we can meet It song now that I have a question Carlo are you open to the eye Academy being a part of that thank you okay Laura next thank you so much for the timeline about the board meetings and what subjects would be cussing at those board meetings I think that's really helpful for us to be able to prepare and give you a hard time about why that doesn't work it doesn't work and then I'd also like to encourage you to go ahead and you had an idea of having the meat meetings at the school that's cool that's being spotlighted I think you'd get a lot more parents attending those meetings and I'm helping that you can make that happen also I wanted to say that I attended a bunch of back-to-school nights its back-to-school season and I was at the middle school going to my daughter's class you know schedule and every time I went to a class and saw teacher I'd like always she's a great oh this is a great teacher and they were talking about the Common Core they were saying things like success to thrall takes all you know they were like giving us the message that Dave has been putting out there so it was really gratifying to see that and the middle school was so crowded the parents something enter each other bumped into you last night and I felt like we needed more time to to get Pat to for the passing. To get from one class to ever was like what like all the classrooms are really hot and humid and sweaty all these parents and then I realize well it's because there's a mother and a father or there's two people attending for their one shot and there is this one kid wearing football gear and I saw him at that we should all have that on tonight through the anyway I'm one last thing Katie I don't know if you're planning on giving us a plan for how you're planning rolling out the common core is that something that you're going to provide for us at one of the board meetings coming up  Yes actually we as we finalize kind of our plan because it's rather than just do common core we're trying to you know be thoughtful about you know where we are where we need go and how it incorporates with our strength and gaps at the same time but we will be bringing I think I mentioned it in a 10 in the last weeks of FM did the budget piece that we're receiving from the state on on Common Core we will bring the plans on how we're going to spend that money and that would include part of that implementation okay yeah because if we could get that that would be great I'm just curious like if we're going to employ pure coaches or mentors or what kind of starts as I going to be put towards that and what the. Of time is going to be and if it's going to be presented in the teachers subject areas as well or just Trace how you're going to do that and Mike the local control funding formula a district attendance going to be one of the requirements of how we receive that money or do you know what I'm talking about going to be a part of the ability component for the local control funding formula okay alright so that is some data besides testing data that we can use and then the last thing is whoever is on the city Lee on committee they may want to also put into their discussion is tree trimming schedules cuz there was a big back up around the middle school last week because they were trimming trees so maybe Jim treat your me schedules can we put that into the agenda thank you trees hedges  bush Patricia you're not supposed to say that number one that can ask Mike imperious I know that property didn't give us any I mean they didn't give us any more fun so but I know that we use we didn't have to pay out what we thought we were I have to pay outside like to see what areas are where we talking about that with that there were made okay that's process your not I'm saying that what we didn't have to expend the money pay back money because you know you really exactly get propped 30 funds from when I under is that correct yeah well luckily should I answer now or or get you the information later it will luckily the board once again because you're history in terms of fiscal responsibility we had enough of a reserve that we absorb the cut in within our Reserve been so then when the funding was read was actually not taken away we that just added to our Reserve again so that that's one of the wonderful things about having an adequate Reserve because it is just absorbed that whole thing and we didn't have to sitter reducing any Services as the results of the governor's letting us know that they might be taken away millions of dollars other thing I was interested in and said it was it had to do with somebody mentioned I love the presentation send me guards to the homeless and so forth and I think it came up that yoga is being taught I think that's excellent that we had teachers or the five people whoever is teaching yoga tonight that's part of the whole situation that's great just congratulations and Superman I mean I mean our superintendent I wanted to ask you and I really I have I have an awful lot I have a lot of respect for you and I'll talk about that I don't because I know that you are you change the whole tenor of this District you've done a lot and the people are working together and I'll talk about that little bit minute the other is just want to know is that what's going on you remember I brought brought Mark Mark breaker to the district and to the style that she relationship between West LA and Culver City Unified School Michigan guards to Grants and how is that would you maybe give us an it's not today but maybe we're removing with that with that collaboration because my play Crash by the millions of dollars a western you we wet we all met absolutely I have more of an extensive summary on that really was a powerful productive meeting I think it's just there's some great potential there and I think our area focus and I've reached out to the Middle School in the high school John and Dylan as it relates to some of the natural connections between xmarks skillset and and some of the programs and Pathways that you're able offer and then of course his gift for finding resources to the money it was good meeting at so I can provide having an environmental conference on well event a huge event on September 28th and everyone is invited they're going to have music but they're going to have really important than some of the scholars and people who are experts in this whole issue with environment and I thought somebody maybe from ours to play battle with the committee and whoever is open it is free it's done September 28th now Westerly didn't pay me to say that but I'm just saying that yes yes on a Saturday and is you're going to have fun cuz they're coming music and food and all the other things the other thing I was Dave I want to say this and I wrote this down but with all of your actions you must have a clone I think you have a clone somewhere because I don't understand how you can do so much the soap so positive I mean I mean I know you're good person I'm just saying what you brought this district and listening to people today I'm so happy that you're here you change the tenor of the district and I do want to say this even with this business with the bond and there's some other stuff going on right now but you have you and the staff have really helped to ameliorate a lot of problems you've moving forward you're saying all the great things were doing and I just think that that your ability to bring people together and to focus on the positive it's really very very good and I I'm going to say this but I'm going to say one thing because I keep hearing it over and over I was reading the minutes of the last meeting and it does bond issue is coming up it's all over the place and you know we're moving lowered we're moving forward and I get tired of hearing that 67% of the voters voted for it when we know the survey was 600 totally so was 67% of those 600 people about 450 or 84 who took the survey took it on by phone and it's about 78 who took it online so I get tired I keep hearing yet and I just want to say we need to clarify that get rid of that idea that 67% of the voters it was 67% of those who took the survey which was less than 600 Tom sang I just want to clarify that because we would keep hearing it over and over and over in this let's leave that behind just try not to say anything about it cannot because we're moving forward and that's the only place to go now and I know it's an election year but let's focus on the positive and the things that we can do and what we have to offer this students and how we going to change the dish not change it but falling with the leadership that you've given us and I want to thank you for what you've done I really really love you Luther I'm I don't let him like a love you but I really love you to say thank you for what you've done I really do appreciate it  what is the bless to write District  and I know you don't know you walk on water because I heard you couldn't swim but okay okay so I'd like to say is is I would love to move on to but I just want to clarify that the survey was 400 people that it was just a significant 67% plus or minus 5%
