going to read a little about you Nicholas is a dedicated and kind students she was chosen as El Marino principal at as a el Marino Peacekeeper these students are specially trained and second step problem solving skills facilitate your conflicts during recess Nicholas is committed to being involved on campus and helping his peers and students in lower grade whenever Nicholas is faced with a challenge he always tries his best never gives up he is motivated to keep students safe and make el Marino at better campus we are lucky to have an amazing role model like him at El Marino congratulations Nicholas our next Citizenship Award winner for also from El Marino is Malia Mayorga milia please come forward Malia is a hard-working responsible and Cherry 4th grader in the morning she greets Us cheerfully in the two languages English and Japanese she is always what prepare for classes participate in class discussions very actively and often shares her thoughtful comments with the class that Leah has begun taking a leadership role through Class Act especially group projects and Garmin says she does not hesitate to offer assistance to her classmates I am proud of her demonstration of excellent citizenship congratulations Malia okay please smile and turn on your camera thank you and you are our next awardee is Dean the house and one of the fifth grade scholar is he in his maybe he's on Zoom is it fifth grade scholar who continue to emulate good citizenship in leadership crossed the campus Dean has an amazing classroom citizen he treats everyone with kindness and respect and goes out of his way to help fellow students being a self-starter and looks for ways to go above and everything he does while working in a group being showed great leadership skills by organising the group and making sure everyone is involved in the decision making sure he takes his role very seriously and would help me other students about starting trash in the lunch area in addition Dina participated in the pals program serving as a buddy and role model for students with disabilities is empathy and patience is better but now he treats his peers and the adult on campus Venus truly a good citizen and we look forward to seeing the gray thing he will accomplish in his future congratulations. next we have Jason yang Jason Yang exemplifies good citizenship inside and outside of the he is a respectful detail-oriented helpful Problem Solver and natural leader he is not only an amazing all-around student but he is a thetic kind and helpful to his pure when one of his have other commitments but what I wanted to bring it up is some of the stuff that is on the agenda but I can't be here to talk about it I'm still concerned that we that we are discussing and I'm trying to OK econtract for Brookwood when there has been so much pushback Ms and said so many people do not want this so I don't understand why this is still going through especially since nobody seems to want it except for a few people on the board and perhaps superintendent tracks so I'm going to be speaking up about that once again there was something else that I was I was looking at in the the online meetings I'm concerned about going strictly to online again only because it seems it seems sad that so much happens online that so many people missed during during the whole lock down and I think that people should have the option of I mean in person as well as being at home and I think that should 10 to the board members if they don't feel comfortable being here so I think there should be that auction though and but you have about 30 seconds I was a little distracted because I was enjoying the presentation so much usually would have something written down so anyway I hope that you will listen to the public comments and hear us one last thing I was happy to see that you guys are going to be working towards getting the the honors classes you see approved that is at least a step in the right direction and I hope that we bring honors English okay thank you I'll call three in a row and once again I do appreciate being corrected if I miss team names if you're comfortable so be meeting on 10:25 and they were for iPads and the total was for $685,573 and I'm really concerned about for several reasons what is that here we've been talking about the Brookwood contract for in a quite a long time and that's the only only in the amount of $180,000 there was no prob discussion that I can determine of this nearly nearly $700,000 and iPads I found out there for the k k through second students but the ceiling tiles are falling down at the high school if you took the $685,000 plus the $680,000 Brookwood contract that would give you 100 865000 dollars which will be more than enough to fix all the ceiling tiles at the high school and you may note that in the future ready a report they said that fixing the ceiling tiles at the high school was of highest something it okay well I pads and plus why didn't we discuss things that are cheaper than iPads virtually all districts that I could research were using a cheaper tablets and so apparently I mean these things like easily I get it there small children so why don't you saying stuff that's way cheaper half the price of an iPad or even a third the price of an iPad so I have a lot of concern here and I hope we can talk these things in more detail in the future I just very upset about it thank you mr. Sandman great thank you so much Rachel again for the hype option, not even to come down there first thing but I'm glad to be able to just pay it online I just wanted to give a quick steak with the school update on our walked over there and it just a week or so ago and all things will be it done just tired. So I don't have to wrap up for walking I thought it was September 24th and head over 110 kids participate in that was a super great event while we were at the Art Walk and Roll as well there as well as all the arts and crafts that we did Lasker skating in the love local Culver City on Main Street that was great way to outreach additional family and we had a group ride this to Columbia 24 people in a regular salt really great things were happy in the last several weeks late some do you have a chance because I want to call attention to our next family ride which is this coming Sunday so this is our second Sunday's group ride we meeting at the Culver City station on and will be pouring some Culver City parks on a simple scavenger hunt as we look for some missing pumpkins that ran away during Halloween going to track him down, everybody needs educator copies there either BOGO deal for our group B I don't drink you get a chance bring his well we meet at 9:45 and ready to roll at 10 so if you're planning on getting a drink at 9:30 and hopefully I do I know if it's a free event as always and be gone for about 2 hours 98 9 Mile rise be bounced around from Park to Park Drive Culver City hopefully the weather be fantastic and a great time thank you all for your support and I will talk to you soon thank you Alliant and I called the next to Melissa's iPhone and Melissa Sanders hi I'm here today to Advocate and be a voice for all the children in our district particularly children who are being bad it breaks my heart to hear not one but many stories about how this vulnerable children are not getting the support that they need I know that the administrators cabinet members and board members are so well aware of this it is so ugly so many important matters are in need of attention yes you guys are okay that the current children especially those with special needs are being bullied with zero follow-up cabinet as promised my best friend's son who was from ccims was repeat that our district has failed this family you're well aware of her health condition this is something that does not help with her condition for which now I have been going to the I see you on a daily basis to be with her just or tried to hold her head she is not intubated and on a ventilator the administrator that cabinet members never reached out to talk to follow up as promised as fellow board members do not look at each other play the blame game the way I see this all of you are responsible because why because like I said earlier your focus is not on the present but the future because it's need to know and many parents voices go on her just like my friends when she was still able to communicate by emailing the administrators she was hooked on an oxygen tank I want all of you to share this because my friend the mama there was doing all she could possibly do for her baby shame on you not doing anything until it was too late when you go to bed tonight ask yourself this question am I serving on the board and Kevin up because I truly care for the children at ccusd start listening to your family's for once the last time I friend and I communicate through October 30th she managed to sign to me I love you repeatedly if you still have the single out of conscience left in you I hurt you to start tackling The Bullying issues at school all school starts now thank you Melissa's iPhone oh wow I don't even know if I can follow that one graduations to the students who received the citizenship I'm disappointed that the meeting wasn't canceled tonight due to the elections been feeling a little bit on American here I never heard back from anyone regarding ingredients list of the ramen purchase from the consent agenda from last meeting I never get any response any emails so I feel for Carolyn he was actually hoping that we do here backed up regarding consent agenda purchase orders in such not meeting after meeting or information regarding this no emails are ever given back to me I never hear back from Gwen or Tran or any of the four of you anyways I'm really disappointed to hear about this most recent assault that no one's addressed no one's even brought to light it's disgusting and secure other. she never could use the bathroom any medical provider forget UTIs because they couldn't use the Bing bathrooms instead of wasting money on possible realistic contract that ran is pushing so hard I E Brookwood you need to use that money for the student staff and falling apart building and obviously the assaults being taken care of that I don't understand the big push but you need to start fearing first really quickly I would like immediately for there to be a report posted on the ceiling tiles and whether or not they contain asbestos or if there's bestos now being drifting down on to our wonderful children that's highly important since that was a huge issue and that could be happening right now so I would like that I also was reading about the economics regarding permitted in kids and how we do not even get the full money from the government for each permitted in chin so I'm very confused and I would like to also see a valid reason why we have a 30% permitted in population of at least high school students and that is basically sucking our resources dry we are losing money with every permitted kid in we have no space for them we don't have the states that stuff for them we don't have the resources so I do not understand this incredible brush for permitted kid then when we get like 25% of the money for that b absolutely insane to put our district in that kind of position so I'm sick and tired of dealing with that also I want is going whoever's in the district but when you guys just push aside half a million dollars cuz it's such a small amount of your budget or even $180,000 I don't care I don't need a thousand dollars is probably more than most families in this District make a year so have some respect for the people that live in this district and whose kids go to the school we deserve that since it's our tax dollars that are 30% probably what funded District do have a little respect for whatever money it is and please remember that according to the State education you're not a threshold of under $100,000 to get an RFP so make sure that happens mr. clean was standing there waiting for us when we first started talking about this project a few months ago and everything came back negative I'm getting the record from Harris they have it in their Dropbox and I'm going to put that up on the facility website I don't go on social media but someone sent me a screenshot of something someone had posted about that we get less money for permit students and I believe what happened is it individual was reading about school finance and they read something about basic Aid districts which is something like Beverly Hills where they use their own money instead of State money and in a base a district that's true if they take permit kids they get less money which is why barely old doesn't take that is 100% absolutely not true for any other regularly funded District like Culver City we get exactly the same amount of money for state trooper Kermit has we do for regular thank you thank you Chris Paul with regard to Whitley and 10 shared if anybody takes anything out of this meeting tonight let it be how important it is to care for our kids and our families our communities and getting priorities straight The Bullying is atrocious my son South was a victim of bullying and anti-Semitism in elementary school he's now in 9th grade it was never addressed appropriately at the time by the school or the district and it seems to still be a huge I'm it's inconceivable to me that we are having a meeting tonight at board meeting tonight with key issues on the agenda including votes when it's election night we have a partial board it was committed that no major decision should be made with a partial board it's the day of the elections but an American you can't expect it's like counting on people to not come we're not pay attention to the election news and weather for another Revenue Source or Workforce housing $180,000 for Brookwood a size advisors study is still a significant amount of money and it's expensive to keep hearing it's a drop in the bucket it's a bias party Brookwood is a bias party 5c before we could get this for free with an RFP and was blown off its too small an amount of money to be worth an RFP why the rush did Warden and superintendent can't even get clear on the objective first meeting its Workforce housing then it's another Revenue stream what is it if you could change with the time why the rush why is there a rush on this this should not be voted upon tonight plain and simple and there's been son so many arguments against against that we can't even maintain the existing and lastly this Health Department visit was it a guided tour because what's coming from our own children is vastly different than what was shown in the report occasionally Porter like a doctor please clarify that right now we the agenda item that we are entertaining is please thank you 7 hours is kind of forced us into some is bringing up some of these issues at this point in time and it doesn't make the meeting any shorter to have all the time or the other items later however I also see because we're expecting a relatively short meeting I don't think the rest of the board coming out of order Board of course has to wait for the agenda what do you think I think that we already started public comment and that was something that was suggested and I think like to build trust by ensuring that we follow our policies and protocols regardless of whether it's election night or not and I do want to State publicly that I asked if we should reschedule this meeting the board decided that we would move forward with this meeting the board and the cabinet and so we strategically created this agenda to be very short considering the election and I and I think that for me moving forward I do think it's important for us as a board the respect our bylaws to respect our protocols and to move in that direction more and more cuz that's how we build the trust in our community answer your question I don't mind Jenna twitch if you wanted to come in on the one or two items that are on the agenda please wait for those to come good evening thank you for the opportunity address the board some interesting common threads tonight and that's a lack of listening to the community that's really been an ongoing problem with this board and process will be rectified with the election today I'm very why does Marcie Bond said that we finally have a process for designation of honors but unfortunately it's too late for 12 graders for applying can you see schools this year we still don't have an explanation of why these classes were not designated previously and what the future for other honors classes at our school is the Brookwood is really the elephant in the room I want to Echo the comments of why tonight on this is a lame duck or board there's no urgency and know that folks are distracted with the election we've got a number of crises that are facing our district we got that additional test for that were presented three meetings ago they haven't heard a plan to address that and that's in the wake of abolishing on Earth Middle School we have fights breaking out we have terrible conditions in our schools that were expressed so eloquently by the student number I can easily think of multiple better uses for 180000 + 600 dollars for iPad mention By Carolyn number one in classroom aides to ameliorate the impact of large class sizes and specially in the settings increased heterogeneity I could try to help teachers with differentiation which is now happening to trash clean-up to address the Vernon issue 3 addressing School infrastructure such as the infamous ceiling tiles number for attempting to hire an additional teacher or custodian or number 5 increasing teachers salaries to try to retain the good teachers that remain in our district that's in 2 minutes of this very limited parent community in which I hope that this board and the board going forward will be more responsive the concerns of parents and citizens in Culver City thank you okay thank you and those are all the speakers answer questions or comments that takes us to 8.36 USD employee groups Tammy is not she's not feeling well so with your permission I'm going to redo representing Ace this evening good evening everybody on Lauren Jag now I am currently the Secretary of ace and I'm happy to be here with you this evening I have a pretty short report to give simply put we continue to be concerned about the push to sign a contract with Brookwood especially in light of the ongoing concerns from community and staff the regarding the process and furthermore just the fact that it seems that there was a lot of enthusiasm presented or at least more interest for Cordoba especially considering they are a local a local entity and have roots in our community I know that Mr Tran is pushing Brookwood but we do not feel that there insufficient evidence given as to why they were chosen or suggested and we really firmly believe that this vote should not take place tonight especially as many of their people have said on the and with a board that is not only in complete but also about to be changed over so again would really really like to recommend that at this point this Brookwood contra not be voted in there not be approved in that if this is an issue that is of interest in the district that will be something that can be Revisited with a new board thank you next would be CCR everyone still have a few issues to to talk about tonight actually I kind of piggyback on what Lauren had just said I was not impressed with Brookwood I thought they had a very for presentation this was there a team actually that came out and gave him a report presentation they failed to answer basic questions from board members was much more impressed by Cordova I also like the fact that they were a local company as well too I'm very skeptical on pushing forward a company that couldn't even answer basic questions from local Board of that's really really disturbing to me and no way am I sold on this company because if they can't do that how are they going to analyze our real estate I'm just sorry I just I just don't see it with this company I was definitely more optimistic with a second company I'd like to know more about them and like to have more people to have input so kind of like Lauren said I'd rather see this kind of pushed off a spell the new board cuz I don't think we have a meeting in two weeks for this Thanksgiving break so I think our next board is in December and Steve real quickly that's the new board right and stay in December traditionally that meeting doesn't have a lot in it but it's the only meeting in December holiday season I think I feel more comfortable baby if it was a vote like on a company are Company B cuz I just was not impressed with Brookwood nor were our members I think we don't support on Spring Parkwood Inn at this time I want to talk a little bit about communication which is really breaking down our district and that is the ability to communicate with teachers and with the union and all the board members got my email today already about this issue I'm not going to try to go into that and I definitely look forward to having further discussions with board members and cabinet about the lack of communication in on something that happened today but we really need to improve our communication systems internal let's not make decisions without the input from the people that are expected to carry out these decision I'm glad Robert addressed the issue with permit students I think that permit students have been under attack recently and social media so I think that's quite disgusting to attack many of these students who are seeking a better opportunity outside of their home District there's a lot of information on social media Robert I applaud you for staying away from it some of us I think it's like the accent you can't look away but I do want to talk about something on social media around honors classes because there was a very dishonest piece that was put on social media around honors classes and if we made it Mike over City High School isn't offering anything to help our students to get to the you see level which is completely untrue because those statistics failed to include are AP classes and I where we actually probably offer a lot more AP classes been a lot of surrounding districts so to put a stat out there that we don't offer any honors classes are honors classes of U secret but it doesn't take into account the many AP classes at Culver City High School offers on that allow students to get that bump in GPA we haven't had an issue with our graduating class is over the last 10 years or more with getting into you see or Choice school that really hasn't been an issue we've actually done a really good job in our students especially ever done a really good job getting into those school so there is a lot of misinformation that's out there right now around this whole honors and AP issue I said time and time again is the president of the Union I'm going to support the teachers are English teachers that made a decision that this was something that they wanted to try and attempt to Abdi track and to raise the staff for everyone that's not going to happen instantaneously it's going to take time but I really want to show support for teachers and especially our English teachers who made that decision are there the Educators and I would hope that the cabinet and the board would look to our Educators first and support the decisions made by our Educators but again it is disturbing to see the misinformation around there because do you have many opportunities to Culver City High School to take advanced placement classes to get that extra bump in GPA to get college credit ahead of time as well to which a lot of these things fail to address I'm as a history teacher we've never had honors in the history department and us or world history are in government and economics we've had regular and we've had a p and has been very very successful I might as well too it has lifted up our regular classes and of course it's prepared our students that didn't take it to be prepared to take AP US History and AP Government econ so certainly we've done it we've done it extremely well and ice cream social science department at Culver City High School want to talk real quickly about you no other forms of communication and checks for staff it's almost getting to the point where it's ridiculous how many of our teaching staff are being paid late for assignments does not affect I'm spending more and more time every day following up on emails for someone who didn't get paid for work they did in the summer or next assignment here and there we need to get this straightened out the number one priority of a school district employer is to pay your employees correctly and to pay them on time and their penalties in their laws that are broken when that doesn't happen under the labor code and this is something to do needs to take very very seriously making sure that our employees are paid correctly and are paid on time I want to reserve the last bit of my time to thank you Steve since I believe this could be your last Ford me and if it's not you know I can say it again with Steve I really appreciate the time that you spent on the board I know we've worked very closely on a lot of different issues together including serving on the partnership agreed with the majority of the time I think we've generally been on the same page you don't agree with everything but I appreciate you know how far will you are in your procedures you know how when talking to you you do you like to kind of look at all the different perspectives you know might be something I'm really hot on and you're like Alina others this and this and this and you do it so that's another way to look at things I just really wanted to thank you for kind of being that really enable voice on the board you know where Larson is he support School site as they develop their plans recently we completed the strong Workforce and see take grants to further develop our Sports Medicine patient care pathway and additionally we are so we are exploring ways with the middle school and elementary school tomorrow at El Marino is earned the Japanese sports day it's like a mini Olympics lower lower grades are working through and their challenges tomorrow at 9 and the upper grades are working through their challenge activities there attic activities at 10:30 so between 9 and 12 tomorrow you can see students highly engaged in this annual tradition the adoption for the Spanish language and immersion material at the secondary level is under way Vista Roma our district library and has reached out to eight publishing houses that are interested in submitting curriculum for evaluation and in total 11 programs will be included in the preliminary evaluation he is begin he is already begun collecting stay Elam and will probably be ready to distribute them next week so thank you so much and thank you Doctor 11 for your leadership and double back I appreciate the efforts from resident in Rayland and President George W have me of basin CFT meeting with the school site. Mitchell needs of the district but to always keep into the larger perspective of the years to come and I'll be sure to input in your leadership and thank you is two student representatives from where good evening everyone so we have a lot of talk about play so first we would like to speak about our fan favorite Haunted Hallway so this event was a sold-out event and it took place on October 28th and the Haunted Hallway was an open to the public event where is be scared people in the hallway and we also had a concession stand where we sold food and snacks and this event turned out to be super successful as we had around 500 people come to it a good afternoon we would also like to talk about Red Ribbon Week which is this week we getting lice and living a drug-free there for on Monday we took the drug free pledge retreat and today we sent our fingerprints and red paint on to dry on giant live drug-free posters and tomorrow we will have a dance party and a red ribbon photo booth and finally on Thursday will finish by sealing the deal to her drug free with paw print tattoos and our monthly walk to school day was originally scheduled for tomorrow but has been moved to next Wednesday due to the weather conditions and we are encouraging students to take the three block challenge to school by biking walking skating or scooting to school to stop the spread of pollution starting on second we started taking in the other los Muertos art Dedication that lunch and rasp will be putting together all the submissions and some printed out photos and will be creating a CCMS alter and this Thursday November 10th we will be having a fan movie night in celebration of the other los Muertos which was the first and second of November and we will be watching The Book of Life and we are also starting to take gobble game sign ups for 10 teams of five on Thursday and it is on a first-come first-serve basis and actual gobble game challenges will start on Monday November 14th until Wednesday November 16th and now probably asking what are the goggle games and we basically have around two to three games every day on the blacktop in which the teams will participate and also get eliminated and the goblin games are made for the countdown countdown until Thanksgiving and to excite the students for the holiday and the ultimate God will games Champions will get a big prize but everyone who participates will walk away a winner last week one more topic to cover our members of a SB attended the lake a youth conference today and it was really fun we all had a great time it was simply asking. We also had one where it was an old guy we was call Omar he was all I understood it was really good too right now for a SB we have a future students breakfast coming up and then cooler dog that's said dad and then I have a little bit complaints from students again from security guard and I'm going to be having a meeting with the director of security to be able to figure out what's going on in to hear about size of the survey to see a security guards and disturbance side to see what we can do about it and that's do members of the board what YouTubers the last report from the high school it's kind of concerns me will there be another administrator joining you who can respond to any of those issues I'm just curious about the protocol and how we can support you as you go into a meeting with the director of security to address issues yeah well I was talking with Doctor Cobra and it's going to be me and her and the director of security. I got what's going on with the security guard okay great thank you I just spend I see dr. Smith motioning okay I just want to make sure that it's a productive meeting as you're sharing concerns. We've had a couple you all know that we have an environmental sustainability Food Services subcommittee and I don't think I've done an update in a while we've been having meetings over I guess the past several months it's a small group of who decided to join many of them are part of the environmental sustainability committee and most recently we had a meeting not just with the food services subcommittee but also with environmental sustainability committee and rainbow still at 8 at that meeting Julie Garcia attends Olmos all of our meetings and we are at the point now where we have outlined some food services subcommittee goals and I won't list all of them right now but there are there broken down into four sections someone is health and nutrition and just to give you an idea that's more about the food options healthier food options for purchasing high quality raw materials vegan options milk Alternatives we also have a category time which is more about scheduling the meals man building in nutrition time and addressing the needs 40. Access to breakfast the third category is sustainability which is Under the Umbrella of the environmental sustainability but this is specifically pertaining to Food Services so things like reducing or eliminating single-use redundant packaging are water usage there are a number of things under that and then we decided to make water is a category because we do want to make sure that we are providing water the students whether it's through the filling stations I'm having more of them making sure that they're all functioning properly in that we're testing water regularly based on this list has gone to Julie Garcia and we've discussed it in the Food Services subcommittee it will come to District leadership once we finish hammering out the details of what the goals of the we are on our recommendations and I'm sure most people know but the city did pass a waste reduction ordinance that the district is responsible for adhering to and the frustrating part with that as we are not like a business where can increase our Revenue by passing on that Tomas to our consumers we have to sign to find it in our budget to be prepared to switch from single-use to reusable but there are a number of factors that have to be considered water usage to sanitize trays and so now it's just not an easy Trail mission for the district is my understanding and correct me if the city Liaisons have any information on this but there has been no direct support from the city to help the district with this transmission and so that's something that we've been talking about and they'll be more updates about that coming I do want to follow up on some of the comments that were made public, Dan from the Union's I would there was no response about the bullying issue I don't know what thing. I know that I heard that there's Trey the training with Newark for our security is that going to also include are contracted security which I think outnumber are employed security staff still contracted security and our employees will undergo that training with new Earth okay and then I wouldn't still love a follow-up at some point about how we're addressing bullying and the complaint specifically the complaints that are coming to the district and to the site also lists. brought up the pay I know that's been an issue long going issue with the process for paying employees on time and we haven't got an update about that in a while so I would love to follow up on that I was talking to one of the flip of that basketball coach over the weekend and we are all excited about having a bleachers but he was sharing that there was no coordination and I know that the gym at the high school is used almost throughout the fall because of volleyball and then it goes into the basket season but they still like no one came and communicated with them how that transition was going to happen and so I would just ask that we reach out to the basketball coaches and figure out the timing and along with the bleachers being changed our way also power washing anything or painting anything in the gym because it doesn't look and then I and then just one other thing followed up when the facilities list was President last time asking about the middle school science building a middle school high school science building and they do hear the announcement that the Middle School still does not hear the bells for passing periods and I cannot hear the fire alarm for emergencies and so I just want to make sure that we are responding to that because that is an issue of safety and if we can get that rectified immediately I would really appreciate it that's all I have thank you thank you I thank you for the update from the food committee and I'm wondering I know that Mister can you mention we would hear most of your report later at a later item will be here and update on the water filling stations tonight okay good thank you and I want to ask the word hear a follow-up in a Friday report and or wherever it's appropriate regarding the CMS student and their family that was raised tonight by a commenter items not on the agenda I think it's really important that we share an update on that please thank you so much for adding a regular ID an inclusion in the inclusion strategic plan every meeting I'm really looking forward to hearing regular progress updates on that I wanted to appreciate the performance of clue that was mentioned by her high school rap sensitive that I attended a couple of times over the weekend it was so it was so fabulous really well done outstanding and it continues to blow me away in terms of the quality of the professional nature of the of the for putting on display and I just really wanted to shout out the directors Lee Hanson and will McFadden as well as our coordinator Heather Moses and JD Sergeant who who works at Robert Frost express my gratitude for our for our Robert Frost building and in particular the renovation that has just now had such an incredible impact on our students because they have access to the state-of-the-art. I know from experience over the years since it's been renovated how critical the Arts programme is both an integrated manner but as well as as independent disciplines that how critical all of that is for the , being an academic achievement of our students and I I really appreciate it being able to see that display multiple times throughout the year I give updates from time to time as a result of my membership on behalf of the board in the Baldwin Hills Community advisor and the update today is that in the not-too-distant future I expect within a few months we will be officially launching a case study conducted by the county of Angeles Department of Public Health as well as you CLA this is a Baldwin Hills Health assessment so it will be a study where we reach out to approximately approximately 1,000 randomized households that are with 1.5 miles of the Inglewood oil field and we will be requesting participation in the study information will be collected and will inform researchers about whether there may be health hazards related to living near the oil field the participation will be voluntary confidential participants will receive $20 upon completion it will include things like household and household survey about the blood pressure measurements along the function measure and willingness to be contacted at a future date so I'll continue to update the community about that it has not officially been launched but it will be soon I think it's really important to recognize another Marco Culver City High School students which is that of our vote 16 club that was very successful in getting a ballot measure on this year's on today's election in fact you lower the volume a gymnast. and for School Board elections to 16 years old this this school board approved support for that effort and approved at the superintendent support the students in whatever means were necessary and possible to support the effort back in March and indeed the students were successful at getting it put on the ballot and they were featured in the Los Angeles Times in on the front page above the fold and then in the Los Angeles magazine and then and it's on an issue international radio program called CBC radio and then finally that Los Angeles Times article was sent out by the California State School Board Association to 1,000 school districts today and this is an incredible achievement and I really want to recognize their first that has been for years under way and with any luck we'll be through the beautiful and then I do what I do when I express my gratitude I will make it super brief so I didn't write you a poem or anything like that I know you're so uncomfortable in this moment so I just wanted to know just must be like making you itchy but we were together for seven years and it's it's meant a lot to me you have been an unwitting Mentor you would have for that role but I have looked to you and I will continue to do so for my gross you are a peacemaker and that is intended in the most in that you do so in the most genuine and selfless way and it has dreamer so incredible impact on our work and on our community you've been a really excellent Brown activity I wish that we could Brown at buddy on so many more items because of how inductive it feels and how professional and functional and how we both have very different questions and it seems like a really good seems to be a very fruitful combination are you always ask questions from the perspective of folks that are clearly not yourself without ever you know do anything to compromise you know a position ality that those people might have and that it's been that way that I've been fully really been able to realize and be so assured that you are genuinely a man who all in our district I'll be very missed the thank you j i started my Master's and governance which I think is the last one so I'm really grateful for that that I finally completed the end this is about Community engagement and it really brought a lot of feelings of when we hear from our community and all their feeling there is all these tools that were provided to me today I'm like okay these are some tools that we can Implement as a board and I think we need to do better on community engagement and ensuring that we build that bridge so that we can have this collaboration in this trust that it's necessary to conduct this work I'm so just wanted to start I also wanted to apologize to Miss Debbie is feeling ill and I wrote this and I will reach out to her to have a conversation with her at the last meeting she provided comment around how we interact as a board and she identified listen to the video and I literally wrote the she said I was very disappointed on her board members treat each other she gave an example that we don't let colleagues finish when they're speaking and finish their thought I also went to our Mall. order book and looked at that and that is one of the forms that it's clearly outline here that we need to allow each other to finish her comment and will keep comments as brief as possible in it goes on and on and on and on and that we will not interrupt each other so after this reflection I just wanted to say I apologize my colleagues here for interrupting you and not allowing you to finish your thought I also want for each of us to please reflect upon this because as I was watching the video I saw how we all do we all interrupt each other even when we are called upon like mistress doctor Levin you call each of us and say would you like to speak on this item and then we can chime in and we ask questions and there's a time for us to create our thoughts and communicate those thoughts and then there's a time for deliberation and I really encourage each of us please let's allow each other to to have a conversation when it's time to deliberate and allow each of us to be able to speak in Spanish thoughts without interrupting when it's our turn to speak so just wanted to say thank you miss me I think it was great that you brought that item for me to you specifically called my name and so I went and I did the work and that brings me to the next part which is I want to say three things about you in that is you were the first person that I instantly deliberated with around graduation requirements and immediately after that intense conversation in Publix we had ice tea and we built the bridge and we build the strong collaboration for 2 years and I appreciate I am find up there so much learning that happens during the liberation and there is infinitely more that happens when you're able to build that bridge of trust and operation and for that I'm grateful to have had you as my colleague for the last 2 years you will be missed and I will be calling you because I know you're a man of service and I know that you will be part of my community that government thank you thank you all right with my turn to talk. I've been back and forth for a week or all night about whether to read this little speech now or try to do it at the end of the meeting and I still don't know which is right but I guess I'm going to do it now so people who haven't figured it out from what you've heard so far while technically I have one more meeting the December meeting is where we headed over to a new boards I will be at the Emoji your physical Union conference in Chicago at the time and I'll join it by Zoom for like a minute to participate in in welcoming the elected so this is effectively my last score game it kind of course Miss McBride is running for re-election so we don't know for sure if it's your last and I'm assuming you'll be here in person have a chance when where the other end too, and I'm just going to read it as I leave. After 9 years Culver City Board of Education I have a few parting words I don't usually give long speeches at board meetings and I don't usually write out in advance what I'm going to say please bear with me is tonight I'm doing both first here are a few things besides which I wished everyone in our community understood I learn some of these on the job and some I already knew but serving on the board has made it clear that Chili's will be news to some in our community school board is a very time essentially volunteer activity for the number of hours we put in we get paid less than minimum wage and every single person who has been on the board including those with whom I have being mentally disagreed did it because they hope to do some good not for personal gain there is no personal gain 2 the board can only take action any action at all through a boat that a properly agendize public meeting individual board members have no Authority at any power they have Tums for the ability to get at least two fellow board members the publicly boat to take a specific action at one of the roughly 20 board meetings which take place each year 3 by state law it's quite difficult to talk with each other the brown act requires that we discussed school-related matters with each other only in public only an official meeting and only if it's been advertised on the agenda in advance there are very limited exceptions such as specific items which may only be discussed in closed session closed session items have to be on the agenda for an official closed-session meeting and in general we're not allowed to talk about them outside the board is legally responsible for nearly nearly everything which happens in the district but cannot come close to being knowledgeable about all the details we Della almost all of the authority to the superintendent who in turn delegate the authority to walls are Argy that extends to everyone who works for ccusd school board members are members of the community not birds in the field of education so what does the board actually do first and foremost we hire evaluate and if necessary fire is it superintendent that is our single most important beyond that we enacted policies and said broad goals for the district. We also pay attention to process and make sure that the way things are done with the goals and values of our community our job is to make sure we have the right Superintendent at the top pay attention to the big picture and leave the details to the professionals finances people often ask me what city is a wealthy community why can't our schools afford x y z whatever the XYZ is the amount of money given each school district is based on the number of students with some additions to partially account for those students who are likely to need for resources it is roughly 100 million dollars per year comes out about $14,000 per student per year that's less than the average cost of Private School in California and a lot less than the average cost of Private School in LA county the budget like the budget of nearly every organization goes by listen to employee salary salaries and most of what's left goes to contracts with paystyle reason people who are not District employees remember also that the board only needs about 20 times per year and is responsible for moving everything expenditure we can and should ask questions about the budget and priorities and so forth but if we broke up the budget a million-dollar pieces in spending an hour on each billion dollars we would still run out of time in those meetings in the district would grind to a halt because then we'd have gotten nothing else done and of course the Gentiles take a lot more than an hour to do the the word navigation before spending a million dollars that means we have to trust the superintendent and the people who work for the superintendent to do the homework to make sure the money is wasted so the board job is mostly to make sure the right people are in and we are on top of everything not to do the job for it I'm sure I could come up with more to say but this is already long and I'm drifting off into advice for the board so let's do that for here are a few things I have tried to do if I've occasionally failed at them please learn for my failures if I succeeded least try to learn from that the number one listened to be even when you actually hate that everything the person is saying or dislike them personally, I think they're not making any sense at all there's always something to be learned there have been plenty of times when people came to a board things to yell at us about something totally unfair and misinformed and yet I learned something important about how we could have communicated better or about something that was important part of our community that I didn't know they cared about that I have Miss understood the issues none of us is infallible like everyone's Viewpoint is worth hearing it's important to disagree in public what does citrus the board is not permitted to Hash things out in private and there's no benefit to having a five-member board if everyone agrees all the time if you accept each other's good intentions and learn from each other and try to wait each other and allow yourselves to be to be persuaded by each other the whole will be stronger than the sum of the parts 3 whatever issues cause you to run for school board I can guarantee but at some point the big contribution controversial issue of the day will be something you didn't anticipate at all so please come ready to learn people didn't elect a list of position statements they elected five people who are willing to work an ad on their behalf they hired your brain and your heart not just your hands OK Google find me wrapping up just two more things to say about I'm on the school board I want to tell you all the one thing I hated the most about my time on the board and what I love the most so the thing that bothers me the most was when people came to a school board meeting with there's beaches and demonstrated that they were going to read their speech no matter what even if someone else could already said the exact same thing even if the problem they were addressing a just been solved there were times when we see the bunch of emails about a mistake and the staff member announced the beginning of the meeting that it was a mistake and that it had been corrected and then proceeded to get up and read speeches winning the mistake and demanding we fix it totally ignoring what they had just heard in a course the board is prohibited from commenting on items not on the agenda so often we could not even respond I didn't mind at all people change to tell us we needed to fix the problem I just really hate it when they came only to talk without being willing to listen but I'm very happy with what I love the most about serving on this board for 9 years I have been a great many people who care a whole lot about our students are doing their very best to help we have some amazing students teachers custodian secretaries Librarians administrators parents employees actors in interested bystanders were willing to pitch in and help and go above and beyond any reasonable expectation to strive for perfection in an imperfect World on behalf of our children whether I agreed with you or not and whether or not I met your expectations it has been an honor and privilege to serve with you all I hope I contributed to my own way but I am time Linda ccusd will get along just fine without me and the students in Culver City will continue to accomplish Tran you said you wanted to say something to approach the bench we worked thank you appreciate it I guess I'll wait till the end of the meeting and I will also say that during the recess one of our teachers sent me some pictures of myself in the classroom with a bunch of students which was something I really appreciate it so thank you I won't do it publicly maybe she didn't want to okay I'm going to update because we're trying to keep this one for you I'll try to keep this one brief just a few minor updates that are reflected on the website but I can also discussed we didn't post the RFP for program Management Services fires in January and so we're looking at just getting rid of our fees it's on the website it's in Culver City News it's in the Daily Breeze and I think we may be posting it in LA Times also and that is due by December 5th on the water yes she was when I went back and talked to the high school staff after the last board meeting they told me that they got to every water fountain that day before the last meeting it was so that would have been on Halloween every water found in the high school worked except for one and it put in a work order to have that one fixed and then I went back to them this week after seeing the email about the water fountains and they went through again this morning and said everything one works except for one that's a different one so we put in a work order to have that fixed in one of them isn't draining properly so we'll take care of that but other than that every single water fountain they checked by hand this morning was working so we'll just keep an eye on them going for and make sure they continue doing so are they labeled like are the water fountains labeled to check them all individually can there just be number or letter above it is because of the extremity of some of the reports I was here and so I wanted to be able to say we've checked every single water found that's the only reason they did that to that oh yeah wait till we get there not already labeled I'll make sure they do me that way regarding the health department that originally happened two weeks ago in a follow-up visit that last week that was completely unscheduled surprise visit we had no idea they were coming until they showed up at the campus that was not a guided tour they were were they made the decision on where to go examine the Campus based on the reports they had received we had administrators walking with them but we were absolutely not influencing where they went or where they looked at they submitted a report back to us the next day we addressed some of the corrections already there was a hole in the locker room ceiling that was patched up with and I think about 48 hours there was an issue with some sea tiles and some bathrooms fixed one of the bathrooms where was happening and it wasn't actually an issue in another bathroom and then some of the other things they got dressed as not they didn't find any problem with what they were looking at those reports are all posted the follow-up reports also on our website our main District website I've actually put them on the facility project page and they're also on the high school website originally under their news releases I think they were going to put some kind of Pop how to make sure those Works accessible so the reports excuse me are out there and can be viewed by anybody like this on our Fields I want to mention nose the song on baseball field because I think there was a comment last meeting after I talked about the fields where someone was concerned about the use of artificial turf and I didn't address it back then I should have we are not putting artificial turf on the baseball or softball fields they're just being sticks to level out potholes maintenance in a fix the pathways and all that kind of stuff at work is actually supposed to start this week I don't know if they were able to because of the rates but that should be going on right now and then on the ceiling tiles were continuing to talk we reached out to actually blue sky which is the restoration vendor who's working on the flood in plaster that Lynn how they've been doing such a good job and they now know our campus and no less they were talking to them about the best offer proceed with what to do after we start pulling these ceiling tiles down and again there was an asbestos inspection done recently Harris just emailed me the report a little while ago on the facility project page the ceiling tile locations but again there was no asbestos found anywhere on them I created that email that I talked about facilities at ccusd. Org and it's listed on the project update page so staff or community members can contact that one directly I think that's all I had unless it was other questions today clarification so I know last time you'd mentioned one of the Solutions is to just remove all of the tiles and when you said you're discussing with blue sky what instead of just removing the tiles what to replace them to them that they had concerns about what the ceiling wood play be like when we started pulling down the tiles and I express of them the urgency of we just want to get the tiles out of the way but they want at least talk about options while they're there because they're concerned that once they pull them down then you have maybe some kind of other hazards the hazard that will come about as if you have an opening up into the space above the ceiling to see if you do have a good solid feeling underneath those Tiles at your old and you don't have to worry about it but the concern is they start pulling down the tiles I do find some openings so then it would have to address it as they go along you can take phone with you and Patch him as you go but you know that's not going to look good and we want to make sure we're doing when they're just going through the okay thank you where are the important question yeah I remember that so much overlap with some of the inability coordinator thinks about is that is that a question is for mr. Tran is that position coming back to the board at the next meeting do you know when it will come back it is going to be on the board agenda for the December 13th action item because the board recently got an email from a student at cchs that has a love to just support and give them a responsible respond that's what I'll probably do is connect them with the high school staff that were walking and then make sure we get on the same page so we can all see what's going on please allow me to Segway then on Tuesday the 15th or environmental sustainability committee meeting at 4:00 yes thank you so much for the report I truly do appreciate that have a concise place where we discuss. I would like to request in case this is not something that you're already doing that any emails that go to the facilities email that we can like a summary in the Friday memo this way we understand what the community is talking about I'm facilities before we come to the board meeting and hear it for the first time in Lee the Blues the other simple thing is if we can send this this a standing agenda item can we keep the website link on this agenda item so that way whoever needs to reference that can easily find it and especially because staff and everyone is putting so much effort to keep everybody informed that we just want to keep it there so that people find it easily and on that website also I think it's important to stay updated of so that people know okay you sent an email about the waterfowl this hasn't been updated since you know a week ago so therefore that's why you don't find the water fountain issue on the the website those are the suggestion the nothing is as we if I remember correctly that the tile work is something that is going to be potentially more than million dollars it's not and blue skies it was just an opportunity to have their were already on site and they just reviewed it because it was an opportunity they do all the steps till we were looking for they do that's in the testing if we need any more testing to do the removal and they can also do repair afterwards all-in-one company and is this something that can be done during the break we're like reaching that moment you know like is that was that conversation hat I'm hoping to get it started in here I understand one of the issues that helped maybe the biggest one was about a dumpster behind the cafeteria the issue was that they were there was trash outside of them and the lids were were being left open so we can discuss that with our custodial staff make sure they know that the nearest Canada has to be distributed between all the how to make sure they can still close make sure you can close them and we kind of organize them so they're a lot neater worse than they were before we're actually going to put them somewhere separate into a different than Stan area soon as we could do that but that was addressed like immediately that day and the other thing was more of the big picture kind of things which is do we do something where routine are to walk through and find out our standard second month Roman reports total enrollment is down about 30 was it 39 students from last year but really close from the overall scheme of things questions on this I was looking recently increased over the last few years we're requesting that the inferred that the board consider this position looking at it today is an information I done what he wrote the job description for this position as well as the corresponding salary schedule this position needs to have an in-depth knowledge of Hrs Human Resources LOL labels list of letters PowerSchool talented smartfind and the person who is currently performing all of these duties is a Personnel Clark but really Maris that the position of Human Resources coordinator she's able to step into any of the positions of these heart specialist conditions of substitute teacher manager she she hates and coordinates the evaluation systems she runs the report for our department she monitors all over the interviews are the postings the recruitment Personnel files she worked very closely with each of us in the department and so I believe this is a long time coming for this year for the board to review and provide input does anybody have any comments or questions in the end a question in a, so the question is is this a position in addition to the Personnel we have there because I really feel that we need additional Staffing in the HR department I think that you know the people doing jobs are very overworked and I'd actually Advocate to add position so I'm wondering is this and adding a position or is this changing the title of the position they can this please be brought the partnership is this job description was not brought the porch I sent you was for long so we have been evaluating our human resources positions for several months now looking at potential reorganization as a group we shall that we could do a better job with Summer organization but this job specifically it was pretty much unanimous that just needed to be two comes first because this person has already been performing these duties for several years been so this way is there really a new position but we are looking at we are going Isaac okay you were the request as well to bring it to partnership it doesn't come for an action item a while now bring a partnership all this state than that it's my understanding correct me if I'm wrong that our new practice is that it comes to the board once then goes to the partnership and then comes back to the port I believe it just depends on when we have partnership a partnership meeting happened before the board meeting you and then then we would take it to punish first and then to board as an information item and so it depends on whether the schedule of a meetings but we would and to have an informational step before become an action for the board to have time for questions and following is for both partnership and board to view it as information on before I thought about it on that is not as intense yes thank you after you describe them because I wasn't sure if this was a new position or if this is a reclassification of a position and after you describe the job duties of this person it's the like even adding more money to that position won't necessarily make the job more efficient and I'm wondering if there is an assessment of the department to find out how many more full-time employees you need as opposed to paying one person more with a higher title to do the same level of work that sounds like a lot for one person yes this person basically is already performing these duties and we are looking at the entire department each position I looking at the job descriptions I've been meeting with each of the HR Personnel technician Personnel cards the HR analyst every every person in every position for that reorganization so I guess my question is will this reclassification make HR more efficient or will it start of keep it this way but people be compensated for the work they're doing I fully support compensating people for the and I support making the department more efficient we heard about the length of time it takes to get someone from a recommendation to actually tired and started and we've heard about the time that it takes to get sing signed off on so people can get paid on time so that's my bigger concern this person being reclassified and getting paid more may not make me address those issues so I'm asking is this an addiction to ask I plan to request more STDs or is this just a Lucian paying people who are doing the work more I just want to understand a bigger plan with HR exercise the bigger plan is as I said this first job because this position is a long time in coming and this this person would coordinate some of those activities such as interviews running boards salary changes a lot of in-depth analysis person is also able to step into any of the bills rolls simultaneously or a next steps would be to look at each of the position so that we can be more efficient and potentially adding another position not to positions but maybe one additional sorry if I sound like a broken record I saw that it does have my lingo preferred and I know that this is it sounds like this is a reclassification so there's someone in place this person may or may not be bilingual I still think it's important for us to add the language bilingual preferred even if it's a reclassification I see that this person would be interacting with 100% of our staff potentially staff and teachers and dust why would be good for this person potentially be bilingual I'm not saying I don't support reclassification what I'm saying is I support having bilingual I we continue in the in the two years that I've been on the board I have continuously heard from teachers and staff the the problem with Pat and we don't have an automated system to pay in to do Paychecks and there's no dashboard for people to check their old check stubs and I would think it's important that as you are reorganizing to please consider modernizing our systems so that that can help us system expire are our processes to paying our our stuff in order for them to kick and they've done the financial side of it they haven't done Human Resources human resource resources side contract we approved a couple meetings ago so they'll be doing that very soon and I'm going to streamline a lot of that so much would that also help with pain on time and then another thing is and so this is something that hasn't come to the board but it came to my inbox and that the issue about those teachers who'd take like summer classes and their compensation who assesses that conversation and how is it is this is this position School sisters of that compensation also cuz I didn't say they'd do the groundwork and then as far what's compensated that's what the human resources side and then how it was paid off is is the payroll side so I did actually takes three departments got it i s this McBride's comment that I was support this classification and adding more to ensure that our staff and teachers get compensated in a timely manner that we investigated more formal way to institutionalize bilingual preferred but I don't I'm not aware of policy that would do that but maybe there is such a thing so I'll bring it up at 8 under board items and make sure we get some nodding heads on it but I have to figure out a way to make it a more structural component of our job description thank you can you get ready for 9 a.m. please thank you make a recommendation between Cordoba and Brookwood 11 basically saying that do they have the the season nor the experience to meet the needs of the district which is the study of our Holdings having to do with the let me check my note again I want to be accurate on this what does the price is competitive enough and then Bowl contract came out to be the same day per diem might be a little bit higher than than others because the out-of-state situation national International experience it again on what is the personality but can you put weather and then then the 5th criteria at his local contacts and knowledge of the of the community I will have to say that but I would have to recommend the company that I had history and have delivered the kind of work that we looking for I have no doubt the Cordoba with their expertise could probably still the team to do the study for us that would be something new for them and I have no doubt they are very very successful to but my recommendation for the board tonight is with Rookwood because they haven't done the work at least at this point with three different School and they are being considered by other District as well so at this point I'm going to stop and see if any question for me I like to think what we need is a motion of the board I will move to approve of my tube for the superintendent's recommendation of an Tran mentioned that another Local District is doing a similar project and he was asked to contact that development company by someone on the committee but he said they did not get back to him by the time of our meeting ask for the input by a board member but there is a concern that the Brookwood contract was put on the agenda before Seebeck could meet to discuss the Cordoba option so there is concern that Seebeck can't do its job the Optics of expenditures for this fiscally irresponsible if there is mistrust from the community at large that their input is being ignored you may not be able to count on those same community members to approve future bonds so there was a very robust discussion but no consensus thank you Mara may I just ask for one point of clarification to the Seebeck team did not vote last night is that correct I was joking I wasn't sure what you meant by consensus thank you Catherine Grasso followed by Trisha so am I just want to clarify tonight I'm speaking as my not as a union rep or as I am a member of Seebeck I was also in the meeting with Maura I just want to say that this I think there's a lot of misunderstanding around this proposal I heard whatever he said tonight and I think there is a lot of mistrust of Brookwood and I am in the column that agrees that their presentation wasn't great my concern is that this is funding it's a different source of funding we we never have enough fund and this is a potential and creative source of funding and I think it's worth while exploring I'm not saying we should or shouldn't improve Brookwood I think many people have spoken against it including Union that I support but I'd hate to see it disappear entirely I do think we need to explore alternate sources the funding to further you know support our district because ask mr. Tran point it out and as everyone knows there's really never enough money and right now we're in a in a good budget so when we're not you know we all know what happened so that's all I say about it I students that love Iona I also serve on Seabeck but I am commenting as myself tonight I've been following this for start from the beginning because I thought it was a really interesting out-of-the-box way to increase revenue from what I understand about the budget and I've been asking a lot of questions this this investment does not take away from any other urgent specific needs does already have money allocated to them and to Echo what Kathy said my dad was a teacher his district never had enough money to see your money this is a long-term problem and I think we need some new thinking to solve it and I I get it but it's hard and I also agree with many of the speakers that said it's been mishandled in numerous ways and I can sympathize with their concerns but what they're questioning at this point has already been address and the staff that has spent time with both of these companies and investigating the whole issue is more qualified to really address and make a proposal so this is a trust issue in the trust is obviously broken between the public and the staff which is very unfortunate but at this point I would say the lack of trust is only hurting ourselves none of the miscommunications or presentations change the fact that Brookwood is qualified to investigate this issue with their pricing is competitive with other company staff one or more members of the board asked for this proposal in the first place to have investigated the whole idea did make a proposal the public has drilled down and come in and stop amended as they're supposed to do they further investigated they as company and now they've made their recommendation so to me shifting this decision there's been a lot of discussions about timeline but shifting this decision past tonight's meeting could ship this process at least a year based on the other staffers abilities and the flow of the years work so in a year of the future potential income from this project that's millions of dollars the new board has the option of stopping the contract altogether so we're not I feeling the newborn but if you don't look forward to tonight you could be king for a year or possibly longer so I can thank you high as you all all we know at this point I I don't trust this process how this was done how Brookwood was brought on how poor they are presenters and if that's their ATM I'm sorry I don't trust that but more importantly we don't have the funds even if they say cool this property is going to work let's do it we don't have the funds and since we have a master plan that we should have been working on a long time ago that I already kind of mentioned something about using spaces for multiple you perk and we want to get a bond for that going the important thing that's going to go first is you working on our infrastructure for our school so why don't we work on that first and while we're getting those things handled during the master plan which I assume you know the district offices would not be the priority that we can then create a canvas work how it works because the master plan the bond and getting everything going is going to years so there is no urgency with this and in fact if we really wanted to go for it next year it's I know it's hard to multitask but you know what you can have a few board members say hey let's look at this it's not that hard we have to be 2 we should have a third actually we're still talking about money so the trust is the problem and if you guys move forward this you are never going to get it back with the stakeholders this is and contentious with so many people including staff and how does was broached I don't understand how any of you can even still be talking about this and the waste of time we are dealing with this is astounding so looking at we need to do as a priority this is not it whatever happens with the information down the line wouldn't be used for years and years to stop it Melissa thank you for letting me then like I mentioned in my presentation they could easily fill. to address our needs but then I'm looking at a company that has done that they've done deed to study for multiple districts and they help us bring child care for our staff and teachers this item to help us have money easily modernize our schools repair replace rebuild our facilities. Tran and cabinet have been dealing with this since April and they have investigating reviewing analysing visiting and we tired the superintendent that was our response to our responsibility is to support the superintendent that we hired each of us voted to hire the superintendent and I want us to his professional opinion and some please vote for Brutus and I just want to say I know it has not been easy the community continues to tell us their input their feedback today I finally heard some alignment in what we're trying to do here which is we are trying to find opportunities for the future their fears their their objections they are you know ideas and I really value every single person and it is my job in my responsibility to say I truly believe we need to set this direction in this is as I feel that we have in this case that approximates months would be a few months perhaps I was thinking for us and so I do have genuine concerned that a delay would it be if not the year mean at least six months before we could approve a feasibility study and that in that case we would not be equipped to go to the community were in an ounce or a bond that would include both the master facilities plan and any understanding of our potential use of our land and I would be very sad if we weren't able to combine both of those at Birth as we have conversations with the Consultants about her bond and investigating what dollar amount is palatable to our community so that way and I'll just finished with the genuine appreciation for the amounts feedback on the it's driven us to be much
