What is a Screener?
Universal Screeners are brief, grade-level, reliable and valid assessments.  These assessments evaluate current skills, predict future achievement, and help identify students who may need additional support due to missing skills necessary to access grade level curriculum and instruction.  Information gathered from these assessments can guide instruction and does not impact students grades.

What are Benchmarks?
Benchmarks are not to determine content mastery.  Instead, the goal of benchmarking is to identify students' academic strengths and weaknesses and use that information to guide future instruction, and support success on a later summative and high-stakes tests.
