Dr. Kelly Kent

Kelly Kent, Ph.D.
President
Term of Office: 12/1/20 - 11/30/24

Dr. Kelly Kent is an educator, parent volunteer and former city commissioner elected to the Culver City Unified School Board in November of 2015.

After earning a neuroscience doctorate from USC, Dr. Kent co-founded adaptED Consultants where she provides brain-based teacher and workplace professional development, parent education and student enrichment.  Kelly also has extensive experience as an undergraduate and graduate neuroscience and psychology instructor.  Throughout her children’s tenure at Linwood Howe Elementary, Kelly has been an active volunteer, leading campus beautification programs and teaching nutrition education to students.  She was instrumental in founding and implementing a before-school Spanish language instruction program.  Additionally, Kelly served as a Culver City Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commissioner for the year prior to her election to the School Board.

Kelly lives with her husband and two young children on a two-home multi-generational compound next door to her parents. (Her grandmother lived there too until her recent passing.)  Raising her family in this idyllic setting for the past five years, surrounded by the incredible community that is Culver City, inspired Dr. Kent to participate in ensuring that CCUSD meets and exceeds our great expectations.
