The Office of Child Development provides both before school care and after school care to students in grades TK through 5 at each elementary school based on space availability.  Please note that space fills up quickly.

Recreational Activities

The Recreation Division is proud to offer a wide variety of Recreation Classes for all ages and interests. From preschool age activities to arts, dance, and music, to sports, health, wellness--there's something for everyone! Classes are generally offered quarterly each season and some classes meet continuously each month.  Click here for more information.

 

Teen Center 

Although the Teen Center is closed as a precautionary measure against COVID-19, some programs such as Walking Group, TikTok Dance Crew and Art in the Park are currently offered for grades 6-8 or 9-12.  All programs are free. Masks will be required. No more than 12 per group. Temperature and health check daily.  Click here for more information.  When the Teen Center is in operation, staff provide a wide variety drop - in services year round for residents and students attending Culver City Middle School and High School.

 

Culver-Palms YMCA

 

The YMCA has always focused on meeting the social, emotional and academic needs of our young learners so they can grow into the changemakers of tomorrow—and today is no different. During these challenging times when routines seem to change daily, one thing remains the same: the Y provides a safe, enriching place for children to learn and grow, whether through distance learning support or through essential child care for parents returning to work.

 

Culver-Palms Y is thrilled to be offering free* school-day distance learning support.  The school-age program offers:

  • Online school support
  • Homework support
  • Arts & Humanities
  • Fitness programming
  • Enrichment programming
  • Recreation
  • STEAM
  • Free Wi-Fi

Distance learning is available for children currently in K-8th grades, Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm.

 

The Culver-Palms Y also offers a fee-based** preschool program for children age 2 ½ -5 years old daily from 8:00am-4:00pm.

 

* Free for income-eligible City of Los Angeles residents

**Financial aid available.  They accept 3rd Party funding (Connections for Children, DCFS, etc.)
